After the tragic loss of her husband, Jules moved across the country to a new city, with a new job to start a new life. What she found was so much more. Her new friends helped heal her soul from the pain of her loss, but she never expected that a man would help heal her heart. Nick never felt anything like the jolt of electricity he felt the moment he saw Jules. He knew that she was his destined mate, but how could he make her his own when he knew her heart was broken? A true force of evil is gathering strength and Nick must protect her at all costs. He finds himself surrounded by a new family of supernaturals, hurtling toward a destiny that none of them can fight. Will Nick be able to save her and claim him as his mate, or will she be the one saving him?
I live in KY with my family. While I hold a "real job" my first love will always be writing. I enjoy lots of different kinds of books, and many different authors. Some of my favorites are, but not limited to, Sandra Hill, Lori Foster, Kelly Armstrong, Stephen King, James Patterson, J.R. Ward and Emma Holly. But I think I would read just about anything with a good plot.
2.75-3 - Spider Web is my first book by Danielle James. I found the story interesting, but it felt awkward at times. It appears to be influenced by many highly loved and recognizable stories blending them into this series. I realize that this is the first book in spinnoff of the Forbidden Love: Boston Clan Series and that I may be missing information from the original Forbidden Love Series.
Spider Web By Danielle James ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a magnificent read! I have enjoyed reading Spider Web by Danielle James. I enjoyed reading the book, you are introduced to some magnificent characters. The characters in this book are amazing, powerful, exhilarating and full of surprises. I am totally captivate, I read it from the first page to the last page. What a page turner it's such a Fantastic story! I enjoyed Danielle James's book and this is the first time I read this author. WOw she is so creative and her world creation is absolutely great. I absolutely ejoyed reading the Vampire, witch, demons, angels and shifter story. This is awesome book to read and I really wish I had read it years ago I intend to read other books by this author but if it's at all possible I tend try and find the other books in this three book series, I hope you get to read this action packed, great romance that's has love lost, love found along with the some magnificent characters even the villians are great. I enjoyed the pace and flow of this book, this is a unique, well-written paranormal read with a good dose of suspense, the hero and heroine is strong but charming. I can say I really really enjoyed this book by Danielle James which leaves me to highly recommend this exciting, compelling, engaging and completely captivating story. All of these characters are so demanding of your attention. What a book to read !! Spider Web features Jules and Nick. Jules felt she had to moved away from the home and city where she lived happily with her husband who is killed in a car accident. But moving to Boston gave her another chance at love and happiness.
Spider Web by Danielle James is a very well written book. It combines a lot of different paranormal genres well which I truly enjoyed. The author came up with an interesting plot that kept me reading on. I found however that the plot was a little rushed. I think she could have slowed down a little bit and elaborated some on quite a few of the scenes!
She had a lot of interesting characters in her story that I found she really combined well in this book. I admit Jules is a very likable character and there were a few moments that elicited some real emotions in me. Sadly at one point the author did rush the story on and the character development kind of stopped, especially after Jules's transformation, which is sad since this really would have been a game changer for anyone and a moment where you should take time to show how the character handles it.
I really liked Nick a lot and thought he was plain adorable. I liked that the author introduced Phoenix, a paranormal character I never really read about so this was a nice addition.
All in all I really enjoyed this book a lot, just with the caveat that it felt a little rushed once Jules went through her transformation and I really wished the author would go back and add more from that point on. I am not sure if there is a follow up to this book since it is sort of left on a cliff hanger but if there is I would definitely be interested in reading it!
Voluntary review of Advance Reader Copy. I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher.
My need to read the next book is insatiable at the moment. This book had me craving for more once I began. It had me on the verge of tears nearly the whole beginning. The emotions were so raw and intense, I wonder how one would would feel if they were in that situation. I'm praying for them to stay safe. What if some of them die in the next book? God I hope not. This book was full of so much. It had so many paranormal creatures, I was surprised they were able to make them work and fit in with each other. At the same time I feel like nothing happened but so much did. It's one of those book that run by fast but really didn't. I wonder is she pregnant? Who is the real boss? And who will save them now?
Danielle James once again has written a amazing book. I honestly can't begin to say how much I love this book. It had me laughing, crying and in suspense wanting to know what would happen next. I won't start going into detail about what this book is about. There are countless reviews as well as the description. Though Jules and Nick had me loving them from the very beginning. My heart broke for Jules because of all the pain she went through. This is the first book in the second series of the Forbidden love books. I cannot wait to begin Phoenix next! I hope you have read the first series already. If not what are you waiting for? Haha. No seriously, go read it. You will not be sorry.
Very well written and so enjoyable to read. She lost her husband so her and her daughter move to a different place and makes new friends. They help to heal her from her loss. Then she meets him and he says she is his mate but he is scared as she is still heartbroken. A whole lot of trouble comes at her and him and their friends. He has to change her to save her. This is exciting, suspenseful, mysterious, fun and so much more. I was given a review copy by Inkitt and voluntarily review it.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review
First of all this book caught my attention rather quickly! Anything that opens up with such heart ache and tragedy always pulls me in and makes me have a mental click into the characters journey. Jules experiences one of my worst fears. It haunts my dreams at night and I can never imagine losing my husband or the father of my children. The thought alone cripples me and I remember gripping my ereader so hard and the feeling of my heart pounding out of my chest as the story unfolded. AND THIS WAS JUST THE FREAKING BEGINNING!!
You are introduced to so many character that you are equally intrigued by. In a way I felt pulled in many directions but not in a confusing way, but more of a "I must know what they are all doing right now!" sense.
SO many Swoon worthy male characters as well! Michael, Phoenix, and of course Nick *fans self* I swear at least one can be left for me...right? They all are caught my eye as each offered a unique quality.
The action and mystery keeps you engaged and literally needing more! I read this in one sitting when a million things were in my mind right before I started and it made me forget everything, even the kids lol I was hanging onto every word.
There has to be more and I can not wait for the next book to come out so I can learn more of what's to come and where the characters are heading!
I find that I have mixed feelings when it comes to this book. While I liked the story and it moved along at a good pace, I had a hard time connecting with the characters. And that’s not to say that I didn’t like them, I did. As a Fantasy Adventure the story was spot on. You have your dark organization who want to rule the world or enslave the human race, I’m not telling you which. You have the good guys who are out to stop them. You have new friendships, and old ones, some platonic others with varying degrees of romance. Vampires, shape shifters, angels, witches, demons, and a few unknowns make for a varied cast.
I guess it just felt a bit to pat for me and part of this could come from the writing style which is not a favorite of mine. I am not sure if you would call it narrative or third party. Then again a few times it switched to first party. The tense were off in a few places and all these things brought it down from a great read to a good one. I guess my biggest complaint was that I felt like I was being told what happened or how someone felt instead of shown. Again that is all in the style and type of book. I liked the story enough that I wouldn’t turn down the chance to read the next book. In fact, I really would like to know what happens to Phoenix and if he finds himself a sweetheart.
I was gifted a book in exchange for an honest review.
Danielle James does such a fantastic book with sucking you into the story from page one. Just like all of her other books, you can’t put this one down!
When you first start reading you are introduced to Jules who gets some absolutely heartbreaking news. Your heart breaks with her (I’ll admit, I shed some tears), and you kind of wonder what the book will in store for you.
Throughout this book you are introduced to different characters (some new and some you’ve seen in previous books). You get to know the characters and their stories, and Danielle does a great job of making it so it isn’t confusing for the reader.
But of course there are those males that make you break out in a sweat (in a good way). You get the inside on the sexy men Michael, Phoenix and Nick. I will say, Danielle does a great job of describing them so that you get a vivid picture of what they look like : )
But other than the sexy men, there is action that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and mystery that keeps you guessing. You get so into the story that you can’t put the book down until you know what happens next.
I can’t wait to see what happens next after Spider Web!
This is the book that started it all. Danielle James knows how to put her stories on paper. This is a story about a women who's husband was killed so she moves to a new town to start a new life. What she finds is her future. This is a story about loss, love and a new beginning. Danielle is good at shocking me in her books and this one was no different. There are several different charters in this book one in particular named Phoenix that I can hardly wait to see where his story is going. Looking forward to this next book. As I always say to this author thanks for taking me on an emotional ride.
Jules just lost her husband and is trying to pick up the pieces. She moves across the country to start a new life and there, meets her destiny. I like my males very Alpha so I had a little bit of a hard time falling for Nick. But he won me over with his persistence and patience with Jules. There are a few other characters in this story to love, including Phoenix and Michael. I laughed, I cried (a lot) and I almost cussed a couple of times. This clan was mentioned in her Forbidden Loves Series, so Phoenix is a familiar friend, and I can't wait for his story!!!
Spider Web by Danielle James was an amazing read. I highly recommend if you are looking for a slight twist to the typical love story. It demands attention. A book that you won't want to put down until you have completed it. I read it twice in one night because I felt there was so much to grab my attention and the details I missed the first time were only renewed by the 2nd read.
