For the first time in his life, Maqui has everything he never thought he’d want—a growing bond with his newly-found kinfolk, a promising romance with a woman who infuriates him as much as she captivates him, and access to the gods’ abilities at his fingertips. The future holds endless possibilities, and for once, he’s looking forward to exploring them. Too bad he never planned for the past to catch up with him, though…
A Scorned Dreamer…
In a perfect world, Ayven would ascend as High Priestess, lead her people out from underneath the Conclave’s fist of oppression, and choose her own spouse. But the world isn’t perfect—especially not hers. So until then, she’s content with sneaking around to see Nik, cherishing every moment together in the little world they’ve created for themselves. Although they’ve always known their days were numbered, when Ayven’s betrothed, Inigo, arrives months early, her relationship with Nik isn’t the only thing at risk…
A Merciless Flame…
It’s been quite a while since Eleni has wanted to put away her travel cloak and lay down roots, and with him, she could picture herself doing just that. Their once-unlikely involvement blossoms into something fierce, and when he’s taken from her, she’ll stop at nothing to get him back. If that means tearing down the oppressive faction brick-by-brick and leaving bodies like breadcrumbs, then so be it…

A. R. Anderson is a mom, a wife, and a word ninja, though, which one is contributing to premature gray hairs is still up for debate. When she's not slinging stories, you can find her annoying her daughters with impromptu concerts whenever they mention a buzzword from a favored song lyric.
Ayven and Eleni plus Maqui and Nik are back and things get crazy as drama, intrigue, suspense and so much more heat things up. Some twists and surprises keep things interesting for them all. They thought things were settled sort of but then things heat up. Good story, good characters. Made me laugh at times and wonder how it would all play out.
Roz almost ruined this whole thing for me. She was like a house guest that overstayed her welcome. But Maqui is wonderful and I love him. Ayven's POV continues to be the weakest, but she was growing on me by the end.
