The Beautifully Brutal Series is a collection of dark Irish mafia romance books that follow the Doughty family as they fight to keep their power as rulers of London's criminal underworld, while they fall in love in the most unexpected ways.
The Beautifully Brutal Series is now a complete series. PART ONE contains books one to three, and PART TWO contains books four to six.
Each book features a different sibling, and has its own set of tropes and triggers. So whilst that couple will get their HFN ending in their book, the family will feature across all the books, and as there's a running plot throughout the series, it's best to read them in order.
Watch as Bree, supported by the Doughty family, proves she can be the first female leader in a world run by men. This dark mafia series will take you on a dark and suspenseful journey that's full of twists, turns, heartbreak, and love. If you love feisty, underestimated women, and the dirty-mouthed men they bring to their knees, then this spicy series is the one for you.
BOOKS IN PART Black Wedding is a dark mafia, kidnapping, marriage of convenience, enemies-to-lovers romance. Trust In Me is a single dad/nanny, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity romance. Fighting To Be Free is an opposites attract, brother's best friend, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Three books in one was a hell of a lengthy book. But no lie worth every storyline in each. I love how they mingle and the plot was fantastic learning about each character.
I liked the characters, their stories, their banter. They were written well, their past stories unfolded on the pages nicely, while their current life was written beautifully. The love for their “family”, their fierceness for their beautiful family was amazing to read. All three stories were written well. Each couple & their stories was captured perfectly.
My only reason for rating it the way I did, is bc there was so much extra (detail) that I just didn’t need. I feel the story would have still been even more amazing without all the extra. But otherwise, it was a great book & I loved all these amazing characters!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Black Wedding. My first book written by Emma Luna and it certainly won’t be the last.
I’ve read many mafia romance stories over the years, and one of the highlights of this storyline is leading lady Brianna. Her role in the world she grew up in is refreshing, and when faced with the many obstacles she has to overcome throughout this narrative, her greatest strengths of astuteness, perceptiveness and determination all shine. Bree certainly brings something different to this mafia storyline – which I loved. She and Liam meet and their attraction is instant. They work well together – they are a force to be reckoned with, and I enjoyed witnessing their interactions and watching them support each other.
There is drama – and lots of it! I never knew who to completely trust. I loved that I couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen as the story unfolded. Black Wedding is a must-read, and I cannot wait to continue reading the rest of the Beautifully Brutal Series.
TRUST IN ME ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Trust in Me. Being the second book in the Beautifully Brutal series, it goes without saying to please read Black Wedding before this. I do regret leaving it so long to read Kellan and Mia's story but I now have the remainder of the series on my Kindle ready to read so I won't be making the same mistake again.
I absolutely adore Kellan. His relationship with Hallie is wonderful to watch, but then it is fabulous to see her shine with every single person she meets! This story brought out a multitude of different emotions in me – and I loved this. Both Kellan and Mia's stories at times hurt my heart. Kellan's history has certainly affected him, and Mia has had one of the worst childhoods imaginable - one that was so difficult to read about never mind live through. I loved witnessing their journeys unfold. I love the care and consideration that Kellan shows Mia. They are wonderful as a couple. They have a fabulous connection and wonderful chemistry, and I have been rooting for them throughout.
There is a plethora of characters to get to know in this series, and I absolutely love doing so. I must give a big shout out to Bree for the person she is and her place in the mafia world. Throughout this narrative, I have loved witnessing not only her lead but also her relationship with Liam bloom.
I highly recommend Trust in Me to you to read. I cannot wait for more!
FIGHTING TO BE FREE ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I couldn’t think of a better title for this narrative. Fighting to be Free is the third book in the Beautifully Brutal series by Emma Luna, and it is another must-read!
This is Kian and Freya’s story, and I absolutely loved it! I don’t know how Ms. Luna does it, but each of her leading men have stolen my heart. First there was Liam, and then Kellan and now Kian. Who is my favourite? I honestly couldn’t say as they each have different personalities and qualities that make them who they are.
Throughout this narrative I loved witnessing Freya’s heart and head fighting each other. She has always had certain goals but her heart is saying different things. Her character development was wonderful to watch. I love that her family supported her, and that no one in this close circle was going to stand in her way, even at a huge cost to them!
Individually, the characters in this series are fabulous. However, when they are all together whether it be for leisure or business, they truly are a family and are formidable too. The storylines have me hooked from start to finish, scenes bring out different emotions, and I love that there is a strong story arc that progresses throughout each novel so please read this series in release order.
This book, The Beautifully Brutal Series, has your standard mafia storyline; a Mafia Princess gets kidnapped by her Father's rival. What I read, was well written, however, the first 20 pages is nothing but the backstory of the heroines birth and her family dynamics; it was very tedious and rather boring. When the two do meet, after he breaks into her room, they do not speak to one another, for another 8 pages, approximately; even then its 2 sentences and then several pages of more internal conflict and dialogue. I had high hopes for this book, however I could not get past page 20. I rated it as 3 stars because, what I read was well written.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
If I never read, "it all went past in a blur," "releasing the breath i didn't know i was holding" or "i must of said that out loud" it will be too soon.
Predictable plot twists you can see coming from a mile away.
Full of plots, twist and turns and, of course, Romance. I enjoyed these first three books so much. The characters were so interesting, each with their own stories to tell growing up and then surviving as adults in a mafia driven world where no one is to be trusted except those nearest and dearest (not necessarily family). I would gladly read the next boxes but Amazon is so overpriced so I might just have to let my imagination loose from here. Emma Luna is a really good, engaging author.
