The Scission Interception Corps is finally going to get what’s coming to them….
After a harrowing battle where he nearly died, Larek’s slow recovery has given his enemies a chance to strike back at him and his growing group of Volunteers. Not only has the Scission Interception Corps – an outdated organization that used to protect the Kingdom of Androthe before the introduction of Apertures fractured their power – taken it upon themselves to fight the growing influence of the Volunteers, but they have also enlisted the help of the local Factions to stop Larek and his friends from taking control of the region that they just freed from a Calamity. To top off his list of problems, the Gergasi in their Enclave are also moving to investigate this new threat to their own superiority.
Fortunately for Larek, his recent fight against a powerful foe has led to some dramatic improvements to his personal development. Now, with new knowledge and new Skills, the Fusionist can take on all comers like never before, including a particular one that has been a thorn in his side for a while now.
In short, it’s time take down the SIC.
Of course, while killing every member of the Corps is certainly a possibility, doing so would only jeopardize the safety of the Kingdom, and the world, as a whole. Instead, he has to find a way to do something even more difficult.
Larek must discover a way to interfuse the old SIC with his new Volunteer organization, combining them together into a cohesive whole.
This weak-to-strong MC story contains LitRPG elements such as character progression and statistics, as well as a heavy crafting emphasis. No explicit sexual content or harems.
Great book for the most part. Still over explaining the whole process of making a fusion. And then he gives the abbreviated version to his companions. Which is all I needed. I flip a light switch and I don’t need someone explaining to me how electricity works. I just want the lights to work. I know some people like the minutia but not me. Otherwise I like the characters and the world concept. Also the fact that he’s not just walking in and kicking ass while not breaking a sweat. I’m looking forward to the next book
Larek and the military group known as the Volunteers are doing what they can to take back and safeguard the Kingdom. While the true enemies are the Gergsi and the massive Calamities, power hungry remnants of the SIC are working hard to get in the way of Larek’s goals. It has gone beyond divisive rumors and escalated to actually attacking the Volunteers and innocent people in Volunteer controlled towns. While destroying the organization is certainly an option, it would be much better if Larek could take control of the SIC as well.
The recap chapter and having the stats are their own mini chapters has helped dramatically with the flow of the story. This litrpg book has played out really interestingly! All the crafting is making the entire organization very powerful and I’m excited to see where it is going. I also really enjoy seeing the growth into a leader and out of the lone wolf mentality the MC has gone through. Miles Meili does fantastic narrating.
The MC sets his sites on the SIC leadership. Especially since they’re gunning for him. He creates new fusions, gains more power, and grows his army. He defeats the SIC, discovers that the Gugasie (sic) might be being controlled, and moves closer to his goal of freedom. The reader also discovers that he created a new threat.
I am loving this series. This is a great installment but not a stand alone. The story continues to entertain and evolve. Please enjoy.
There was never anywhere that what I was reading - was taking me to a forshure place !
It was never predictable in all the books I Have read so far. Finished book 6 today with book 7, soon to be read !
Find it hard many times to put it down, for what ever I need to do ! Never would have thought this reading would be so imaginative as it never seems to end ....
Was okay until the leader of the of the Gergasi is a "they". (monotone) Ya~y.
Sure, that character was only around for a short stint for this book, but you don't need there to be a whole lot of dog poo to find it annoying when it's suddenly on the bottom of your shoe.
Kudos for those of you who identify with an apparent non-binary slaver giant, but I just don't have the patience for it.
This story of an enchanter who takes his inventions to the max, was an absolute masterpiece of a read. He has one super dungeon to close before he is ready to take on the super beings who run his kingdom.
Another good story in the fugitive universe. I enjoy the series and the us book. The MC Larek keeps growing in power, knowledge, and ability. I'm totally enjoying it. More please.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
There is still too much endless detail for me, especially when he is planning and building a fusion. However, I am interested in the characters and the world. Thus, I continue to skim through the tedious parts and focus on the rest.
From the very beginning I knew that this series was gonna be something special and it just keeps getting better and better can’t wait for the next in the series to come out
I loved that Larek kept protecting his people, his chosen family. I am curious about this numbered person, and I hope we learn more about them in future books.
