From the bestselling author of Burn Your Sh*t comesthe ultimate guide to unlocking your intuitive power to create the life of your dreams using tarot, whether you’re a newbie, a pro, or just card curious
Are you ready to have a conversation with your soul? Big Deck Energy is the ultimate guide to unlock your intuition, discover what’s possible, and create the life of your dreams using tarot.
Tarot tells the story of you. Every lesson, challenge, or opportunity can be highlighted, guided, or informed through tarot. The cards are your map on the path to self-discovery. They help you see situations with clarity, make tough decisions with ease, and overcome obstacles smoothly as you step into your potential. For over thirty years, Lori Dyan has taught thousands of people to read tarot cards using her proven method—now it’s your turn.
Most self-help books have connections to the messages of tarot, but these have never been presented together until now. In Big Deck Energy, Lori uses practical guidance to demystify the ancient language of the cards, demonstrating how tarot can help you understand the world and your place in it. You’ll learn Lori’s modern interpretations along with Tarot 101 explanations, as well as how to ask questions, work with spreads, and create a dialogue with your deck.
A unique hybrid of tarot how-to and spiritual self-help, Big Deck Energy is for tarot newbies, seasoned pros, or anyone who is trying to figure out life.
As a tarot reader of 10 years, I enjoyed that Lori provides a no bullshit, no fluff approach to tarot that is grounded, simple and more about finding a practice that suits the reader than about bombarding the reader with rigidity on their learning journey. This is very much a beginner book or for someone who may have lost their spark with tarot and needs to be reminded its not that serious, its about self discovery, learning and growing with your deck.
I would have enjoyed this book more when I was brand new to tarot because she explains it in a way that is conversational and not nearly as overwhelming as other dense tarot books.
My takeaway, if you are an experienced reader with your own process, passion and special interpretations this book will not give you anything "new" to chew on but its a fun read nonetheless.
advice for new readers, use your discernment on whether you want to use loris personal tarot interpretations as they are not always the same as the traditional (which she is very forthright about) she is not claiming her interpretations are the truest or best, they simply work for her and that's the core essence of this book. Tarot is a tool and you can work with it in your own unique way.
I believe its important to know the traditional meanings so you can adapt from there. This is more of a book about making tarot work for you and less about defining the meaning of each card and all the symbolism.
reccomended this to a friend who is starting tarot as I think its a healthy perspective for new tarot enthusiasts to read.
I Also love that this was a book you could sit and read with a cup of tea and enjoy it. it is not a manual or study guide In the way that you have to take notes or pull out your deck or pause due to information overload. very digestible, pleasant read and I enjoy Loris unique voice when it comes to tarot
This won't be for those who are rigid about tarot archetypes, meanings, and interpretations, this is for fluid intuitive readers near the beginning of their journey.
Fun to read. Didn’t finish it as the second half is details about each card. I’m not likely to do a reading anytime soon 😊 and if I did I wouldn’t remember because this was a library book so it has to go back.
