Nikki Sloane is in my top authors for recommending Erotic Romance. She has a way of writing kink and exploration that is great for both newbies and pros alike. The Broker really threw me back to the Blindfold Club days and it had me very nostalgic actually.

There were some very sexy things in this book and the chemistry between Charlotte and Noah was really brewing at the start. I loved their exploration with each other and how they got creative while still honoring their different boundaries. I like when things are just a bit different than we expect them to be.

Group activities and voyeurism between one of the relationship partners and a 3rd party is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I think it takes a special type of story to make that work. I like how the author explained the appeal for Noah and Charlotte. It made me believe it was something they could sustain in the future.

However, I did wish we had a few more scenes of them playing. Either at the club or with their couple friends. I only just felt comfortable with what was happening and then we were into more drama. I just wanted a bit more of them in the sweet spot. But that's my preference.

I don't know if this is the end of the Nashville Neighborhood, or if we'll get a new series next. But I will be a Nikki Sloane fan for as long as she writes.

4 Stars
4 on the spice scale

CW: toxic relationship (past), group scenes, voyeurism

I was hooked from the very beginning the exploration of their shared kink in this was so hot but yet so intimate as well. I really loved how their story unfolded! If you’re looking for a spicy good time this is definitely a book you should pick up ASAP

I read too much about obsessive men for this to be my cup of tea. I normally read reviews but went into this blind because I loved Nikki’s previous books, only to find out this isn’t a “safe” read. It’s cool if you’re into that, but it wasn’t for me.

Tbh I was bored…

I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Nikki Sloane with the exception of this.

Age gap
Forbidden, workplace (housekeeper)
Forced proximity

C’mon, all those tropes & it was still wasn’t giving for me 😕!

ALSO:
-sharing scene
-after ons h walks in on H having sex w/ ow & likes it 😐

Gave me ick & normally I’d DNF but for some reason I saw it through only to continue being disappointed. 🤷‍♀️

Charlotte was a standout FMC, and her growth throughout the story was the real driving force of the book. Despite her past mistakes, she was compelling, and her personal evolution kept me engaged. The novel’s exploration of kink and polyamory was handled with care and nuance, making it one of its strongest aspects. I especially appreciated how consent was prioritized—both in the waiting for sex and in the characters’ ongoing discussions about boundaries and desires.

Noah, the MMC, felt a bit flat in comparison. While he served his role in the story, he didn’t bring as much complexity or depth as Charlotte. His character arc largely boiled down to being a middle-aged man content with being single, which made him less compelling than the dynamic, evolving FMC.

My biggest issue was with the ending. The third-act breakup felt unnecessary, and while the resolution didn’t outright dismiss polyamory, it leaned into the idea that once the right person comes along, it’s no longer needed. Given how well the book depicted loving, committed poly relationships throughout, this shift was disappointing.

Overall, The Broker was an engaging read with strong character development, thoughtful discussions around consent, and a well-crafted exploration of kink and polyamory. While the ending didn’t fully land for me, Charlotte’s journey made it worth the read.

“But I love him.”

Someone cue up “But Daddy I Love Him” by T Swift because The Broker is giving forbidden relationship with her dad’s employee. To be fair, she met him before she knew. Anyway. Charlotte’s been burned before when risking it all for love, so she’s cautious when it comes to Noah. Their chemistry is undeniable though and when they are forced into a sort of business arrangement by her father, it ends up getting a little more in depth than dear old dad hoped for his daughter. There’s BDSM, club scenes, and some sharing. Basically Noah unintentionally introduces Charlotte to a world she had no idea she would enjoy so much, and the feelings that follow… well yes. you’ll have to read for yourself.

I enjoyed this read. I feel like the broker was a great dive back into the taboo/forbidden world of the Nashville neighborhood series. I admittedly struggled with the book in the series prior to this one, but I half blame myself because my expectations were high for the MMC. I was hesitant to read this one, but am so glad I did because I truly think it has the fun, emotion, and heat the other past installments had. Will look out for more!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you so much, Nikki Sloane and Valentine PR!

“What if we were the same person, and the only difference was we were at different places in our lives?”

The Broker is the sixth installment in the Nashville Neighborhood series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series in order for the best experience.

After a bad breakup, Charlotte is back at her parents' house. However, that relationship also caused a rift between them, and now she’s trying to regain their trust. She has only two rules: do as they say and don’t lie to them. But following those rules becomes much harder when her one-night stand turns out to be the new VP of her father’s company. Staying away was manageable—until she discovers the lifestyle Noah is into—and he’s not the only one. The deeper she falls into this world, the harder it becomes for them to resist the temptation.

An age gap (13 years), forbidden romance with a dash of daddy kink? Sign me the fuck up! This just might be my new favorite book of the series—sorry, Troy and Erika, I still love you!

I absolutely loved everything about Charlotte and Noah's story; their dynamic completely enthralled me. I'm not gonna lie, though—this book pushed my limits and made me think a lot, which, to be honest, I loved! I also loved the side characters, especially Shannon and Patrick; they made me feel more at ease with their dynamic. I may not claim ENM for myself, but I sure respect it. As Noah said, it just shows how strong people are and how solid their relationship is.

I looove Charlotte! She's a fellow only child—we don't see them enough in books— and a spoiled brat, and I loved her for that. But what I loved most about her was her eagerness to find her place. And Noah was just as eager to help her, whether professionally or as she explored kink. And Noah is such a daddy, swoon!

I'm not the biggest fan of third-act breakups, but this one really got to my feels. For starters, it hurt like a bitch—damn, I could practically feel Charlotte's heartbreak. She didn’t deserve that, but it was definitely worth it! It was the kind of third-act breakup that actually makes sense to the plot, helps the characters grow, and makes you feel genuinely happy when they get back together. And in the end, I wasn’t just happy for them—I was rooting for them!

“The Broker” by Nikki Sloane

3⭐️/5⭐️
4🌶/5🌶

“God, was there something wrong with me? Seeing him with someone else was supposed to be wrong. Taboo. But Noah never made me feel that way.”

The Nashville Neighborhood series is my go-to recommendation for anyone seeking a contemporary erotic romance, with some kind of taboo aspect to the story. I have enjoyed every single book in the series, particularly “The Frat Boy”, and was very surprised to see the author announce a new installment. The series felt done and resolved, so I was very curious to see who the MCs were going to be.

We have Charlotte, a spoiled only child who has squandered her parent’s money and patience; she’s on her last chance to shape up. We saw her briefly in “The Good Girl”, but I honestly can’t tell you anything except she went on a ‘date’ with Preston. She wasn’t memorable. Then we have Noah, a former broker turned…I actually am not sure what he does at the record label, but it’s something. Noah is into swinging and watching his partner get off with someone else. He also joins in with other couples. Charlotte and Noah share a one night stand (she draws the line at PIV, saying she only goes that far when she’s in a committed and loving relationship), but then it gets super awkward because oops, Charlotte is the daughter of Noah’s boss!

Now based on the blurb, this is the direction I thought the story was going in, it says nothing about swinging. I haven’t read a book about a couple who swings, so as I was reading, I didn’t want to DNF. I wanted to continue and follow Charlotte and Noah’s journey. I think I can say it’s not for me, I just didn’t feel very compelled by that aspect of the story. I was far more interested in Noah and Charlotte making some progress as a couple together, but it didn’t click until the very end of the book.

Overall, it was an ok book. The smut was ok. The characters are ok. The story itself is ok. I think the series could have done without this book, I don’t think Charlotte and Noah bring anything to the series as a whole. I don’t find them to be especially interesting.

Spicy as expected of any of Nikki’s books but MCs lacked chemistry and the crucial tension IMO. He’s a swinger finance bro (“broker” as in stockbroker) and she’s a young wannabe influencer. They have an age gap and it’s honestly very “whatevs” to me.

Kinda meh in the end and I found it a struggle to finish which is not typical for me when it comes to this author.

If you are new to Nikki Sloane, you really should check out the first few installments in this series, especially The Architect, my favorite. The MCs in that book make an appearance which is always fun!

i highkey thought this series was finished with book 5, but surprise! there’s a sixth book! overall, this one was a decent read. i really enjoyed the spice in this one, especially since noah (mmc) is a swinger. this series is just the perfect amount of taboo and i always enjoy the forbidden aspect that it provides. i loved that we got to see all of the characters from the previous books in the series. charlotte was a little annoying, stereotypical daddy’s girl who “wants to be an influencer” and i really didn’t enjoy her character but whateva. the spice was 🤌🏻

Thank you so much to Valentine PR and Nikki Sloane for the arc!! It's no secret how much I absolutely adore the Nashville neighbourhood, and this certainly didn't disappoint—it was such a fun read!

It was quite different from the other books and couples in the series; this one focuses on a journey of self-exploration and rediscovery. Charlotte is at a crossroads after recently leaving a toxic relationship when she meets Noah at a bar. There's an instant attraction between them, and they spend the night together, only for Charlotte to discover that Noah works for her father. The deliciously taboo and illicit dynamic that Nikki creates is spectacular as usual, and I’m a sucker for a little daddy kink, too, whoops!

I really loved Charlotte and Noah together—they brought out the best in each other. Charlotte, after leaving her toxic relationship, was in a place of self-discovery, and Noah gave her the space to explore who she was without judgment. In turn, Charlotte helped Noah open up about his own past, showing that they weren’t just there for the physical attraction but also for emotional growth. Their dynamic felt balanced and real, with each of them bringing out the best qualities in the other. Their connection wasn’t just about the spice (though, trust me, there was plenty of that), but about mutual support and understanding.

I also feel like I learned something new, haha. All I'll say is, the bull ornament on the cover isn’t just related to the trading market. IFYKYK! 😉

And the spice— those group scenes are certainly not for the faint-hearted, it had me blushing. And I was so glad to see my favourite poly couple, too!!

I can’t. I just can’t anymore with these authors. Why can no one write something original for once?? I’m so so sick of reading about barely legal girls having their sexual awakening with a man almost double her age who teaches her all about kink. My. God. Enough already. I think I’ve read this book at least a dozen times this year alone. I couldn’t go more than two or three pages without having to stop bc it was so cringe and my eyeballs were about to get stuck from all the rolling they were doing.

2.5 ~ Cue “But Daddy I Love Him” by Taylor Swift ~ Ahh I really wanted to love this one and that makes me so upset since I loved every other book in this series (except The Architect I freaking hated that book) but this just fell flat for me. I think this series should have ended after the Good Girl because I had no idea what other characters could have a book after that one and certainly don’t know who it could be about if Nikki Sloane writes a seventh one. Our FMC Charlotte I believe we met in The Pool Boy and (she was like a background character) so when I heard this book was gonna be about her I was like okay?? Anyway I enjoyed the beginning because I thought “ooh a fun little boss’ daughter trope” love that. But then it started to explore certain types of relationships and couple pairings in the middle that are usually hit or miss for me (no hate like you do you) I guess depending on the author. It was a miss for me in The Architect and it was a miss for me here. I could’ve done without a Clay, Lilith and Travis cameo and that club scene DRAGGED. And then the end it was of course a third-act breakup like CMON. If the book could have done without that type of relationship/pairing I would have most likely rated this higher.

What a great addition to the Nashville Neighborhood series! We meet Charlotte in Good Girl, and I love seeing her get her own story in this one. I also enjoyed that these two are messy. They have so much chemistry, but Noah has some very strong opinions on relationships. I also love seeing Charlotte discover herself in so many ways. Honestly, this was just spicy and emotional and really amazing. Once again, I just love this series so much. This one is definitely added to the favorites list of the series.

Charlotte and Noah

This has some of my favorite tropes and it was so fun to read 🔥🔥🔥 she's finding her purpose, her career path and he is the much older man in finance. He supports her and helps her in many ways than one even though they shouldn't be getting involved.

I definitely need to go and read the others in this series because I love Nikki's spice 🫶

This was a solid entry in the Nashville Neighborhood series, but one of the weakest in my opinion. Noah and Charlotte are great characters and had good chemistry, but the story was overly predictable and wrapped up too quickly and easily for me to really buy that conflict at all.

Spicy age-gap romance 😋

Rating: 4.5 stars

I have had author Nikki Sloane on my TBR list for a while, so I decided to try my hand at The Broker, and I am impressed! I will be reading more of her work this year. This story drew me in from chapter one.

The Broker is the story of Noah and Charlotte. Noah, a New York broker, has decided to return to Nashville to be closer to his family. He is in his 30s and loves to be private in his deals. Noah has never been in a relationship since he thinks he does not believe in love.

Charlotte has vowed to avoid all romantic relationships until she finds true love. She is currently unemployed and a college dropout who has to move back in with her parents. Charlotte is forced to get a job to repay her parents. She has decided to start a cleaning business, where she meets her one-night stand, Noah.

The two had an amazing connection that night. Now that she is his employee, Noah tries his best to avoid her. Charlotte, on the other hand, would love to get to know him a bit more. When they both realise that they share similar interests, will they be able to avoid that line in the middle or will those interests and their attraction develop into something more?

After enjoying this story, I am excited to go read the others in the series. They are all standalone stories.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Steamy, Wonderful characters

This book series follows the wildest neighborhood I've ever heard of lol. 6 couples all with very interesting... interests (if you catch my drift). The Broker follows Noah (36) who is quite literally the definition of a finance bro, and also Charlotte (23) who has a difficult relationship with her parents that she's trying to work through by earning their trust back.

Noah and Charlotte meet at a bar when some sparks fly and they share a night together. Just when she thinks she'll never see him again, she does. But he's her dad's new employee. *cue dramatic music.*

This book series is easily one of the most fun and entertaining that I've read. Quite literally the definition of a ~spicy fun time.~ Overall I really enjoyed the story and thought this was a fun read (AND SO SPICY HOLY). But I just enjoyed some of the other characters and plotlines a bit more - therefore the rating it's getting! I still read it in 2 days, and I learned that A Broker is not only what you think it is... but also a single swinger. Didn't even know that was a thing. The more you know!

Nikki has a way of writing that sucks you into the story and the characters, all wrapping it up in a sexy & fun bow. I really enjoyed it! The "Daddy" thing just wasn't quite my vibe.

This book is part of an interconnected standalone series, and I had no trouble jumping in without reading the others—which is always a plus! The writing was solid, and let’s be real… super spicy. Like, if you’re here for the plot, you might want to lower your expectations because this one is all about the vibes.

That being said, some of the kinks weren’t exactly my thing, so I didn’t love every part of it. But the chemistry between our couple? Top tier. If you’re in the mood for something fun, steamy, and easy to devour, I’d still recommend it!
