He wants Marshal Jubal Stone on the case immediately. Marshal Shorty Thompson just happens to be in Austin at the time. He has just escorted a federal judge from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Austin, Texas.

Jubal and Shorty will ride together to hunt down the killers of the Kaiser Abraham, Leah, and their three blind children, Abner, Asher, and Abigail. Any kind of killings on the frontier were unacceptable, but murdering three blind children, well, that was beyond comprehension.

Jubal teams up with Marshal Shorty Thompson for this one. A gang is killing farmers, leaving the wife and kids alive so they will just pack up in leave. They made a mistake, when they murdered the entire family that were friends of the governor.

Jubal and Shorty on a mission to hunt down the killers, makes for a exciting tale. Laid back enjoying this read.

An enjoyable read. Marshals Shorty Thompson and Jubal Stone team up to investigate the murders of 3 blind children and their mother. The plot thickens as farmers are also being killed in a mislead effort to keep the area dedicated to cattle farming.
