Twenty year old Brandon Taylor has experienced many things over the past eighteen months. Things that most people will never have to endure in their entire lifetime.
After spending time inside for a crime he didn’t commit, he arrives in Seattle with only one goal in mind; to find those responsible for ripping out his heart and taking away his freedom, ultimately turning his whole world upside down.
His intentions are simple, or at least they were. With fate stepping in to play a helping hand on the night of the college ball, nobody could have prepared him for the events that would follow. That one night was to change his life … forever.
It was supposed to have been one dance, but that one simple thing leads him to feel things he never thought he would again. But at what cost?
Falling in love again was never on his agenda. Breaking another person’s heart had never been a part of his plan. Unable to control his feelings for the brunette who captured his heart, he was finally able to be happy and be the person he once was. That is until his past comes back to haunt him.
Everyone is entitled to have their happy ever after.
Will Brandon and Alexis get theirs?
Or has their relationship been destined to fail from the very beginning?
This book, tore my heart out! The details and emotion delivered was quite simply staggering. The story dragged me screaming and kicking through some of the worst aspects of human nature, the evil that man has the power to inflict on others, for no other reason that perverted pleasure and self-preservation. God I hate Neil !!! Bastard! The story is told exclusively from Brandon’s point of view and what a fascinating view it is. The humour in his musing made me smile and the pain in his reflections reduced me to tears. If this was the emotions you were aiming for Sarah Elizabeth then bravo Mrs – you scored the jackpot because Brandon wiped the floor with me. I have loved this whole series, the characters were so personable, so endearing that it was impossible to not fall a little bit ( or a lot in Brandon’s case) in love with them all. The whole cast make their appearance again in this, and we get to hear exactly what Brandon thinks of them all, Alyssa is as feisty as ever but she is a true friend to Alexis and in the end she is the type of friend to Brandon that he needs. Ryan is delightful, so funny – I would love to get a little more from that pair – they have a tale to tell, I am sure. I liked that we got to hear more about both Rachel and Layla – they both stood by Brandon when he needed them most and the bond they have is very touching. Alexis’s father Paul and his new partner Diane, give a degree of normality to the novel, as “proper”adults they give another perspective and dimension to the book. Although that is not to say that the book is a teenage angst filled ride into hell – because old beyond his years Brandon has been through more in his lifetime that any of us would wish to have experienced but he knows what it is like to have love and lost and has no intension of ever treading that path again – his heart belongs to Alexis but the pitfalls along the way are on occasion beyond the comprehension of two who are so young. Alexis is naive to many things and whilst Brandon can be held responsible in many ways for leaving her in the dark – there is occasion when she is just too quick to judge. The exuberance of youth! This is not a gentle meandering love story, it is not a romantic romp or an angst filled drama – it is the story of one young man’s fight to regain control of the one thing that he has in inimitable right to fight for – his future. The road they travel is filled with obstacles and anger but like two halves of the same soul they are drawn together. They try to be “friends” but with emotions that continue to bubble to the surface whenever they are around each other it was never going to be possible. The situation with Neil, is finally laid to rest or is it? The depth of his depravity is breath-taking – how did someone so young get to be so psychotic- because I can’t think of another word to adequately describe what he did to Brandon, Holly, Alexis and her father. He is an absolute fruit-loop!! Can I sum up the story in one word – yes I think I can it was Epic. It was great to read the thoughts of an emotional young man who had been treated so badly when all he really wanted was his life back.
Written in the first person narrative, I found the chapters flew past and it was like sitting with a friend listening to him regaling the story of his life – the dialect was spot on. I could hear every word he said – not just read them. Would I recommend this series to a friend – hell yes- give me a megaphone and I’ll shout it from the rooftops - this is one not to be missed. A lot has been said about the epilogue and whilst it may not have been blatantly obvious, it most certainly is not unwelcome because doors remain ajar!! Rating 5 out of 5
I have loved this series from the beginning. I loved the story even more in Brandon's POV. I also love how different scenes were involved in this book and the book didn't just repeat what was in the first two books from the leading male's perspective. I laughed and cried and litterly screamed at my phone (I have the Kindle app on my phone). VERY WELL DONE SARAH ELIZABETH. I would've given it more stars, but it wouldn't allow me to. I have already recommended this book to everyone I know because it's just that awesome!!!
I'm so glad I decided to read this complete series of books again...I hadn't previously read the 2 parts of misguided truths but absolutely loved them and all I can say is OMG what an ending. Thank god I haven't long to wait till the next installment
Before I one clicked this book I knew something bad must happen because of the comments readers had left on Sarah's Facebook wall. To be honest, it made me more intrigued, I like dark stuff remember.
Part of me didn't like going through the whole story again, but the other part loved Brandon's perspective. His take on scenes where previously we'd only seen them from Alexis perspective.
Towards the end of this book I really started to dislike Alexis. Come on girl, after everything the poor guys been through you act like that!
I can't say much more without spoiling the book, and I'm not sure what to say about the ending because I'm not quite sure yet how I feel about it. I suspect a lot of readers won't be happy with it, but I think it was an excellent ending to a book. I can't decide whether it was really clever or it pissed me off yet, I think I'm leaning more to clever.
Even knowing most of the story I found myself talking to the characters, wanting things to go a different way on occasion. I got involved in it, and for me, that's what makes a great read. One where you become emotionally attached to the characters, where you love them or hate them, want to hug them or slap them, and this book does just that. As for the ending, you'll have to make up your own mind.
At last we finally learn the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. All from Brandon's POV. This is the 4th book in the Misjudged Series, you must read the others before this as it will spoil the story . Finally we get to hear from the man himself and it doesn't disappoint. Unlike many other books that tell a different POV this is not a retelling of the first book. Yes there are some scenes the same but a lot of it is new and fills in a lot of the gaps that the other books left. It follows the same time frame as the oringnal books and a few years on which I particularly enjoyed. Im a huge fan of Sarah's writing as not only is it romantic, sexy it has an element of suspense and intrigue that has kept me entainted throughout this series, her characters are fun, likeable and often troubled. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this book, I've gone through a range of emotions from heartbreak- to wanting to murder a character !!!! I really hope this is not the last we see of Brandon and Alexis, with that ending I really hope not ! If there's one series you should read, this is it !
As these two books belong to each other, I am going to review them together. In the 3rd and 4th book of the Misjudged series, the reader gets to see everything that already happened through Brandon's eyes which lets the story appear even more emotional, sensetive and touching.
Normally turning a book into another POV is something which can be very boring and not pretty useful as you know about everything that's happening. This is definetly not the case as it even feels like kind of a different stories told through a different set of eyes. Brandon is one of the most sensual and emotional characters I have ever met which made me even react more on the things happening.
In the first two books the readership was able to see and hear what Alexis sees or hears exept of some little parts in which we were able to get at least a glimpse of Brandons inner thoughts which is something I really would like to mention as a positive aspect. Brandon is an unbeliveable complex character you really should get to know.
I personally don't mind reading a story multiple times so having this story repeat scenes to me is fantastic. I like knowing what was going through someones head and having just read Misjudged & Misplaced Trust it was all fresh in my mind as I'm getting this new glimpse of their world. I loved how this book spanned both of the first two books and then some. It really painted a much bigger picture and I could NOT stop reading. Thank goodness I had the day off of work because I couldn't stop. And then you get the ending and ARGH she strikes again. It was awesome. What an ending. Here I thought I had read the series with the perfect of timing knowing that the final book was set to release in a day or two, but sadly it was delayed :( Hopefully it will be coming out very soon because wow this has been a tough wait. I really enjoyed seeing the entire story play out in a different light it really showed you a complete picture, and that is a wonderous thing. See you in the next book :)
Another superb read and insight into the mind that is Brandon Freakin Taylor! Now you may ask ' why read the same story even if it is in an alternate POV ' ....well this is the answer ...this was simply Unfreakinbelievable! Of course the story was the same ...it had to be...it was the same timeline but Sarah Elizabeth completely blew me away...it almost felt like a new story and in places it actually was...with scenes never before visited and some shocks...yes Shocks that I never anticipated in a million years...no spoilers here but heart...mouth...yes mine was in mine lol! So much so I did need to do a little WTF shouting...mmm It is without doubt a brilliant read...the writing & editing spot on and well worth the money for a very long book...now one last thing...please god please there has to be more...cause I for one will NEVER sleep again if there isn't ! Read it and you will see what I mean. 5 Massive 'beautiful 'stars... Don't forget though you do need to read this series in order to gain the full Brandon & Alexis experience
I love this book as much, if not more than the rest! To be taken through the story in the eyes of Brandon was an amazing experience and one I'm never going to forget! Don't think this is going to be a complete repeat because you'll be mistaken. New things come to light at every turn!
From a song to a quote this story is burned in my brain and more than anything, my heart!
To be with them every step of the way from the challenges and the pain to the ultimate love and that ending, it will have you at every emotion!
If you loved the other books in this series then prepare to be blown away with this one!
Well done Sarah!! The sleepless nights? The blood, sweat and tears? Worth it! So very worth it!!
There is only one word ... WOW !!! .. Having read the first 3 books in the series I wasn't sure how #4 would compare .. BUT It was awesome ! It was clever to show both POV .. and how some things can be so easily misconstrued ! But where it excelled was in the way that the timelines weren't the same .. You covered some of the same ground but also learnt new things about the story that just reeled you in more and more .. And .... Well .. without a spoiler alert .. I'm not sure this is the end of the story ! .. I would urge those who have read the others to definitely read this one .. and anyone who enjoyed the story lines of both Twilight and 50 Shades to read the series too ... although they do need to be in order .. I laughed, I yelled, I swore .. and I was left wanting more ! Sarah Elizabeth ... You are Beautiful !
I finally got to read part 4 of the misjudged series from Brandon's POV. Once again this did not disappoint. I loved reading Brandon's side of the story as it isn't just a retelling of the same story there are many scenes that fill in the gaps that left me wondering what the hell was his problem, well i finally got to find out everything. In all honesty in book one i really didn't know if to like him or not but he does redeem him self, especially reading his POV, which i did laugh a lot at some of things he thought and said which was great mix with all the other emotions i have felt reading this series. I loved all the suspense and drama as well as the romance in this series and i am very eager for the final part as this book has ended with one hell of a cliff hanger. Sara i need more!!! lol

A five star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ ️ I have been trying to read this all week while being on holiday with the family and managed to finish tonight woohoo! Gahhhhh, the ending noooooo...............just how!, wtf just happened !
Seriously great story, after reading the first 3 books in this series I couldn't wait to get my hands on this and as I was reading I got straight into it and I am really surprised how it felt like a new story but obviously knowing what is going to happen at times, Brandon's pov has been written really well and defiantly connected to the character. I was happy, sad and really agitated with him at times
Getting in Brandon's head definitely answers lots of things, again, perfectly woven in with the other books. I love how Brandon talks to "us" the reader...and he is so funny at times. Rachel is such a sweetheart. Wow, ummm, Brandon upset me with the HUGE MISTAKE he made! I prayed it wasn't true but oh geez he crushed me and my heart broke for Alexis, who would have thought, right?
Having read the previous 3 books I knew it would be good, I just wasn't prepared for how good!! Sarah brings the characters to life and writes beautifully. There needs to be another book like NOW! Just when you think the happily ever after is going to happen, it's like WHAM! Nope your not having that! The depth shown in Brandon is heartwarming, the nativity and innocence of Alexis is endearing and you can really relate to every emotion she's feeling. I would however like to smack Neil over the head with a heavy, cast iron frying pan! Can't wait for the next instalment. October can't come quick enough!
This book was a monster !!! Its written from Brandon's point of view, but doesnt read like a complete retell of the preceding books. Sarah has managed to engage the reader asking and answering questions right the way through the book.
Ive laughed ive cried ive screamed and exasperatedly shouted out loud ... I felt totally engaged with the characters stories feelings and sensibilities, through thier love, their loss, their heartache and sorrow...... I was totally and absolutely absorbed into the plotline and im diving straight into book #5 and cant wait!!!
I loved this book up until Brandon did the douche thing and drunkenly slept with Lisa! I was so hoping that it was faked but it wasn't and I didn't think it should of happen! Next I was NOT thrilled with the ending. I thought this was the last book in the series and that is why I read it now! If I had known it would end in a cliffhanger I would of waited for the next book! At some point all stories must come to an end and I truly hope after all the shit Brandon and Alexis go through they will get their happy ending!

The waiting is over and it was definitely worth it. This is still Brandon and Alexis story but you gain a whole new perspective on things, I loved being in Mr Taylor's head tortured though it may be at times. Neil still hate him, Lisa is still a skank and Rye and Alyssa and are still arguing and still funny. You go through so many emotions when you read this and feel as if your living it with them, which just shows that Sarah did it again. The ending will have you screaming, as the saying goes it's not over till it's over!
I have finished this book and you know how sometimes you just love/hate a person at the sametime. Well this is how I feel about Sarah lol I love her hardcore I do but damnnnnnn !!!!!!! I can't even give you details because there is another book coming out. And I can say this I was mad at both main charaters in this book. Not gonna lie but girl I could not put this book down I finished Sunday but had to take some time to think like WTF I was like awww then bamm slap me in my face. Can't wait and will give more details after the next book comes out. I am scared I will give to much away ;-)
It's was so refreshing to read this part of the story in Brandon's Pount Of View. I love being able to know how he feels and how funny this guy can be.
I actually think my heart was torn out due to that ending, WHY? Brandon and Alexis have been through so many things. So many twists and turns and this just bring a lot more for them! This series has made me so freaking emotional and I'm so glad I'm about to read the next!
You definitely won't be disappointed with this one, this is certainly worth more than 5 stars!
OMFG ... SARAH YOU HAVE LITERALLY KILLED ME IN THIS BOOK ... FIRSTLY I LOVEDDDDDD THE WAY SHE HAD BRANDON TALKING TO THE READER ... HE HAS SUCH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR & LAUGHED EVERY TIME HE USED THE WORD "BOOBIES" ... THEN, THE EMOTIONALLY ROLLER COASTER WAS EXHAUSTING & AT TIMES BREATHTAKING ... LOVED IT & LOVED THE LAST FRICKING LINE ... GREAT CLIFFHANGER AS PER USUAL ... NEXT BOOM HERE I COME
it's been a little while since I read the first two books... just like the previous 3 books I couldn't stop this book was great the emotions and the characters in this book are down to earth.. the heartache and love in this book captivate you. I couldn't stop this is a great series. I've loved it from the first book and so looking for the next book in this series I so gotta know what happens next!
Wow wow wow!! Holy Fudging S**t! What an emotional roller coaster that is Brandon Taylor's life! This was an amazing read, loved getting an insight into his thoughts on meet Alexis for the first time and all of the emotions he was going through. At the start I was feeling for him, part of the middle I was jumping for joy, the other part of the middle I wanted to kick him square in the balls! Near the end I was happy again. But that end Sarah? Really? REALLY?
Absolutely loved this book enjoyed reading a males POV especially one about Brandon Taylor. Was a roller coaster ride of emotions from page one to the very end. Was happy but also surprised with the ending left me wanting more. As usual Sarah Elizabeth you never disappoint. A very deserved job well done!!!
Wow I didn't think I could possible love a character more but after reading Brandon's pov has proven me wrong!! He is just one darling and I want one to myself!! Another great book Sarah Elizabeth!' I'm soooooo looking forward to the final book, I don't want this story to end!! Though I am anticipating more books coming from you in the future!!
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. This book has made me laugh, cry and stir a lot more of my emotions. I hope there will be more because what a cliff hanger at the end. Sarah Elizabeth has done a fantastic job and brought Brandon's story to life. A definite must read. 5+ stars.
i loved part one of misguided truths as you got an insight to brandon pre alexis . so i read this part in 1 sitting i loved it ...... until the last page!! there better be another book to this sarah elizabeth!!!!!... well done on another fab book cant wait for more from this author
I know I'm in the monitory here but this book did my frigging head in because it was so repetitive! It started to get interesting 68% in. It took me SIX days to get this far...unheard of!!! I'm pissed off now I have to read book 5?? This better be good!!!
Holy Hell!! I loved this .. It pissed me off and scared the shit out of me in places but it was a damn good read!! I love Brandon Taylor he's freaking adorable. He's been through so much and still manages to be funny and sweet. That ending though!!?!!? ..... Sarah stop it!!!
