Atlantis Dark Tides
Lost Daughters of Atlantis Book 4

When a girl’s heart is set on revenge…

Nagged by her evil mother, Sky wants one thing above all else. To destroy the society that rejected her and stole her rightful inheritance. Going undercover, she uses a lowly human to draw close to the recently discovered trio of Atlantean princesses. Once she learns what she needs to know about her targets, she will kill them with no remorse.

Except she does something stupid when she saves the human and exposes her special powers.

Now, she’s caught the eye of Prince Reef from the kingdom of Merta. Reef’s a spy too, with a mission to decide which side of the Atlantean war his kingdom will champion. During Reef and Sky’s time together, she learns more about her past, her power, and her princess half-sisters. Sky is forced to rethink her views on everything. But Reef has secrets of his own…

This is the fourth full-length novel in the Lost Daughters of Atlantis young adult fantasy action adventure novel series. Each of the books stands alone.

“Having met the Atlantean Princess sisters—Pearl, Coral and Maris—in the first three books of this fun series, I’m thrilled that Burton is continuing the saga with this story of Sky, the outsider bent on revenge, who learns that her world is more complicated than she believed. A great new heroine! In Burton’s carefully crafted world, with its alluring Royal Guards and handsome Separatist spies, there’s plenty of intrigue, action and romance to keep the stories coming for a long time. Already can’t wait for the next installment!” Reviewer

Allie Burton has always been a reader and writer. She wrote her first novel at the age of twelve when she was stranded at a hospital by a snowstorm. Receiving her first romance from her grandmother, she fell in love with the genre. As an adult, she read young adult books with her own teens and was excited to find something fresh and new. Now, she writes both.

Having so many jobs as a teen and adult became great research material for the stories she writes. She has been everything from a bike police officer to a professional mascot escort to an advertising executive. She has lived on three continents and in four states and has studied art, fashion design, and marine biology.

Allie is a member of several writing organizations. She splits her time between Arizona and Colorado where she skis, golfs, and bikes.

Sky has been raised by her mother and told all of her life that she is a monster, a sea witch. How normal mermaids are and how they would treat her if they ever saw her. Although she wants to be normal, her mother’s hatred has poisoned her opinion of others. While out on her mother’s bidding, she catches the eye of Prince Reef, who is from another kingdom spying on which side his people will align with in the upcoming war. The more that Sky is away from her mother, the more she starts realizing how everyone really is and her own opinions and plans change.

I can’t help but feel bad for Sky. Her mother has her own secrets to keep and what better way than to ensure Sky doesn’t associate with the Atlantians? But when Sky is on the orders from her mother, she starts to realize that things are not like she has been told.

I really liked Reef. It’s nice to know that there is so much more to this world than what we have been introduced to already. Sky and Reef’s relationship is a balancing act of trust. But I have to say that learning about her relationship to the three princesses made a great addition to this world.

This is an amazing young adult series. I have loved it from book one and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book – Atlantis Glacial Tides.

I received Atlantis Dark Tides from Candid Book Review for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

Pearl has managed to get united with her sisters Cordelia and Maris. Now the daughters of Atlantis need to fight the resistance trying to kill them. However they are unaware of yet another legend, yet another sister, one who has led a miserable existence till she met Tori. Skyla is a sea monster, but she longs for a normal experience. Will she get her wish? Or will she be destined to become the cold cruel creature who destroys Atlantis forever?
I loved the idea of Reef being a prince from another under sea kingdom. I also liked the bit of tragedy woven in when she accidentally falls for a Prince she feels she can never have. The mermaid angle was fun to see too. I'm looking forward to more from the Kingdom of Merta. The queen obviously has things she needs to keep secret, but how will that affect the rest of her family?

I will admit that I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, so the start of this one, seems abrupt and as if I have stepped midway into the tall tale telling.
However, within a couple of chapters, all has become clearer, and the roles of the various characters have become understandable.
I must admit, it was dramatic and heartwarming, in parts, but mostly a very different type of royal romance that one would imagine.

Hi! I’m back to talk about the fourth lost princess of Atlantis. What fourth princess, you ask? The secret princess who was denied her royal heritage. Sky wants revenge on the three princesses for what was taken from her, until she gets to know them. Now, all bets are off.
Each Lost Daughters of Atlantis book has different main characters, but the old characters always show up for a visit.

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.*

A year ago for Christmas, I was given gift cards for both Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Being a stay at home mom, I wanted to make the most of the money and get as many books as possible. The first box set I bought had Allie Burton’s first book in this series and I became hooked! Since then, I have bought and read each book in the Atlantis Series and have truly loved each and every one of them.

The writing is amazing. You get addicted early on and stay that way until the very end. Each book is about a different daughter of Atlantis. This one is about Sky. My heart went out to her. She was raised to think she was a monster. Her own mother, the one who should have nurtured her and gave her inspiration, raised her to believe she was evil. Her mother told her many lies about her father along with many other things. When Sky meets Reef, the adventure begins.

The relationship between Reef and Sky is very rocky. Neither knows if they should trust the other. There are many questions and neither gets the answers they are seeking quickly. As the reader, you are kept on your toes as to what is going to happen next. Truly, an amazing adventure. There are moments of suspense, excitement, life or death, laughter, rage, and yes, love.

I do recommend that you read this series in order. If not, you will be greatly confused. I like how with each book, you get to meet new characters, but you also get to reconnect with the beloved characters from the previous books in the series. I highly recommend this series. I cannot wait to see what is yet to come. This series is easily in my top 10. Go 1-click today.

Sky has her secrets we saw some of them coming out for Tori's POV in the last book, but now we see at all no-holds-bard from Sky's point of view. Were you wondering who she really is and what she wants? Now's your chance to see who and what she really is.

Sky has been told stories her entire life about the Atlanteans and how they would treat her if they knew of her exictance, now out doing her mothers bidding she gets to see first hand what people are really like. It's not all like the stories she was told but can she escape from her mothers hold and find herself along the way?

Reef is neither Seperatist nor Royalist so who is he? What is his true purpose and can Sky trust him? As she learns more and more about him it becomes harder to distance herself from him. Their missions differ in some ways but in others they are the same can they figure it all out and find happines?

I loved seeing Sky tell her story and how she felt about her life. Watching her you see where her bitterness at the begining turns into something else as she spends time away from her mothers influence. This is a great and interesting series all around.
