Steamy Shorts #11

The Assassin

Rate this book
For the past fifteen years, I’ve learned 101 ways to take a man’s life and, more than that, to survive someone else trying to take mine.
I was tortured at the hands of my enemies, beaten to within an inch of my life, and convinced death was at my doorstep.
But nothing could have prepared me for the fresh hell that awaited when I came home.
My new stepsister who drives me crazy.
I try to resist her because whatever hangs between us is wrong. Or at least seems like it. Yet the moment I get a taste of her, my resolve and initial reluctance vanish into thin air.
And when I find out she’s in danger from my father’s enemies?
The burst of fury and protectiveness thundering through me catches me off-guard. I have trained my whole life to kill men five times bigger and stronger than me.
I will end every single one of them before I let them touch a hair on her head.
Because Lila isn’t just my stepsister anymore.
She’s my woman, and like every alpha predator that ever existed, I will lay down my life to protect what’s mine. Death awaits anyone who even breathes around her the wrong way.
I am an assassin, and the most important mission in my life isn’t killing, but protecting my woman, my future wife, and the mother of my children.
Good luck trying to get through me.

I enjoyed the storyline, but felt this one needed more...

I rarely give reviews if I am disappointed in a book. But in this case, I did for two reasons. One, it's a good story, but could be better. Two, I think both main characters needed more depth, and the parents were just TOO useless. Being lousy parents isn't all that unusual, but these two were OVERLY bad parents.

Luca has more definition than Lila. You get a fair feel for the man he is right up front. But there is a lot about Luca that is just vague.

Lila starts out a bit ditzy, but seems stronger as the story unfolds. We needed to understand more about Lila overall.

Killing For Love

This is a quick Insta love story that has danger, intrigue, action, and a HEA🤗! Luca and Lila were raised by a selfish, greedy, narcissistic parent. It's a wonder they even found each other. Their love story is a fantastic quick read. Lena Little is a master at writing stories packed with suspense and emotions. I am a huge fan of her books and this one is no exception!!! Enjoy!!

I love these brooding men

he was upset that he was tricked into being a babysitter until he realized that he was attracted to the person he was protecting. his stepsister. he was very attracted to her. and she was just as attracted to him. two awful parents are what brought them together. and after that relationship went up in flames, theirs still endured. I love these overprotective, brooding, sexy men.

Two of my favorite troupes in one: Assassin and Step-siblings

Called home by an uncaring and irresponsible parent, Luca is expected to babysit his new step-sister, Lila, while his father runs from his problems. Luca refuses right up until he meets his step-sister. He of course, protects her, takes care of the problem, and falls in love, all in short order. And despite their irresponsible parents, they live happily ever after.

Lila and Luca

This book was good because this was an easy read. There is spice but doesn't take away from the story and the characters. This being an "assassin" story is not to much either everything evens out. I especially enjoyed Silas teasing Luca. You really can't go wrong reading any of Lena Littles books because they always have a great story with added spice.

Nice and quick

Good Story between the couple. Meet cute and love the thought of the assassin but no action around that. One moment but it was personal. Though you got to love a man who does the crazy for his woman.

The Assassin

I'm glad Luca gave his dad what he deserved. Lila's mom was a piece of work and shouldn't even get a hea. I'm glad Luca was there to save Lila, knowing if it involved his father, bad men would be coming.

Good

Cute, insta-love story. Wow, Luca's dad was all sorts of messed up. Crazy how he used his son. Lila's mom was just as bad.
