The author picked the perfect guy for the cover for Amazon. 👏 Sold me on it. However, the cadence of the dialogue was off. I have the Apple reader that all Apple phones come with built-in. Even speeding it up didn't do it. Now, at one point the little boy Jason who is Rich Mayfield’s son goes from four to ten, then back to four. Although I understand where the author’s thoughts might have been going with her idea. And tried to equate his ‘reckless daring’ to that of a ten-year-old. As opposed to him being a ten-year-old. It still took your mind on a little mind-memory walk to remember Jason’s age.
I did get frustrated with Mallory for being so flip-floppy when dealing with the relationship with Rich. However, Rich’s brother was a lot to blame for her odd behavior. He lied, cheated, and then lied to everyone about why they broke up and then he stalked her. They had been living together for two years. To top it off, Rich himself took Cameron’s side. Even when he and Cameron don't get along due to his behavior of using his inheritance instead of working. Partying all the time and dating multiple women. Yet, told Rich all Mallory wanted to do was be stubborn. Which gave Rich the last free rein to be bossy, curt, and alpha-holeish.
The overall story is good. I loved Jason and the relationship he had with his dad, Rich. It's a business trip to San Diego that changed everything. Once Mallory touched their home life it was a game changer. It made Rich feel gobsmacked.

Not Feeling the Romance . . .
Mallory works for her ex’s brother, Rich Mayfield, as his secretary. The job is barely tolerable (so why is she working there?). He had always kept his distance from her, acting cold and brusque, judging her by his brother’s “usual” distasteful type girlfriend, until a business trip they attended together gave the two of them an opportunity to finally get to know each other. The revelation was apparently enough to encourage them to give in to their feelings. Although she can now see that he is not anything like her cheating ex, Cameron, she is unable to convince herself that she can ever trust him after what her ex put her through (brothers, not clones, right??). But is it worth the risk of dealing with Cameron if he found out she was involved with his brother?
I didn’t think the storyline was very convincing. Things were too illogical. My thoughts kept saying why would she do that? Or why would he think that? Each was judging the other based on second-hand information and letting it cloud their judgment and behavior; to me, that made no sense.

Rich has since been wary of Mallory as his brother usually goes after women who are gold diggers. However one evening while on a business trip they share a meal and get to know each other and sparks fly.
I really enjoyed the story, the characters and the chemistry. I felt some parts were repetitive with the characters thinking through the issues in their monologue and then they went over the same issues again a chapter later. There was a lot of insecurity coming through but it was really nice to read a male character who knew he wanted to take the leap and see if their relationship could be more.
Overall well written and an engaging story.

WOW this was a great book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was totally intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. She was working for him as he was her ex brother. Mallory and Rich chemistry was sexual tension and the physical intimacy was really tension and they couldn’t fight the temptation anymore in this moment. Could she be having feelings for him or even falling in love with him as we speak it was insane and it was too much for her to handle. What is she going to do now in this moment.

Mallory is working for her ex's brother Rich and things are awkward between them. Rich doesn't know what happened between his brother and Mallory, but he knows that he has been attracted to her. Things get strained between them when Rick makes her work her weekend off. However, while they are away for work, they grow closer, and things heat up between them. Will her past with his brother be an issue between them? Can they finally admit to what they want?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Wow, so the story needs so.much work. The proofreaders should have been fired. First the son is four, later he is 10, and later still he is 4 again. Worse still is the fact that the child speaks like a teenager and with the maturity of a child at least 16 or 17, yet he can't read. There were so many spelling errors. The list is extensive. The story was dull too. Disappointing really, since the characters were fine. Almost no background was given on the failed relationship ship, or the history of the main characters before their involvement. And the list goes on and on.....

Great story!
Rich is a great movie producer, and a billionaire. He has a son and cherishes him. Mallory work as his secretary. She loves , , her job. She dated his brother Cameron for two years and it ended , but Mallory was hurt. Rich and Mallory acted like they couldn’t stand each other until one night after an away meeting with a client. He kissed her and things spiraled into something that they both wanted but were afraid to go forward. Rich decides it’s worth it, so they need to work together.

This was a good book that will draw you in emotionally at the beginning. Strong characters , plenty of twists and more drama than you can imagine. This is Mallory and Rich’s story and it’s one that’s hard to put down. Plenty of drama, twists and passion. The chemistry between them is off the charts, but the fact that he’s not only her boss but her ex’s brother complicates things. Well written with good characters and an entertaining story line. OMG this is a totally amazing well written romance book that is going to have you breathless and your body getting hot just from the storyline as well as the characters Mallory and Rich. Prepare yourself for a wild ride with hot chemistry and intense emotions that will have you all over the place. This book is a PERFECT 10 read.

This is an amazing, well written, steamy page-turner and the intense suspense had me on the edge of my seat so I couldn’t put it down. I was captivated from the start and was not disappointed. Highly recommend reading and look forward to reading more from Amelia Perry.

No Heat
This book was well written as far as the plot and the characters. I just didn't feel like Rich and Mallory had any chemistry. I feel like they work better as just friendly acquaintances or even boss/employee than as a couple. There was no spark between them.
