Death in Dover: Templar Knight Mysteries Book 12

Rate this book

This latest Templar mystery takes place when a pilgrim from Lincoln is slain in the Order’s hostelry in Dover. Since the murder occurred on Templar property, Bascot de Marins is asked to investigate.

The victim, a saddler, was waiting to board a Templar ship for his journey to the Holy Land when he was killed. Since he was a stranger to the port, Bascot’s first action is to try and discover if he had any enemies in Lincoln who followed him for the purpose of despatching him.

But his efforts fail, and when another citizen of Lincolnshire is murdered in Dover, Bascot travels there with Gianni to continue his enquiry. Again, there seems to be no one who bore enmity to either of the men who were slain and it is not until vital information sent by one of the victims to his family in Lincoln prior to his death finally arrives that a trail to the identity of the murderer becomes clear.

Another good read from Maureen Ash

All of the Templar Mystery series have been fun to read. This latest us no exception. Good plot twists. Good historical backdrop. Looking forward to more.

sandie’s two cents

This was just too straightforward and ordinary compared to previous books in the series. Still interesting but not very “challenging” to read.

surprise ending

Good atmosphere and setting. I wish ethics were still as strong today as portrayed here. Mystery held my attention. I would read more.
