Thought I would give it a try.
First 10%:
Introduction to the plot and characters.
It was good. I got excited.
Next 10%:
It felt like I was reading a second draft of a book yet unedited.
Next: Couldn't get past 35 percent.
The book took a dive so fast.
FMC/ MAYA:- A natural Wiccan and an air witch who moves to Cleveland to join a coven there.
MMC/ MIDAS:- King of his tiger ambush.
My rant (because why call it anything else)
The first time the two meet, Maya is angry because Midas treats her badly?!?— “Like I’m just a good-time girl, like I’m not worth getting to know and only worth a tumble in bed?”
HOW DID SHE GET THAT IMPRESSION, YOU ASK? ***spoiler***
Because when he happen to open a door that opens, she—who is behind the said door cleaning it, gets smacked on her head and gets hurt. Then when he helps her, she is annoyed because he is a shifter (and her past relationship left a bad taste) and sexy at that. But Midas, realising Maya is his true mate, askes her on a date?
HOW DARE THE MAN!!
She becomes rude because according to HER it felt like an invitation to bed her?!?!
Okay.
No.
He just asked you for dinner.
Then, the next day she decides to just confront him because her magic has stopped working after the head injury HE GAVE HER?!? But in her heart she knows they are actually truemates, and with two words exchanged, and after an unnecessary sorry, they have sex, locked in a room.
Urgh!
Frustrating, when I know the plot might have had potential. Whatever, I can't.

How could things go so wrong when first meeting your forever mate? It truly did win a mitis met Maya. Maya is new to town, a Wiccan, who wanted to be somebody, to be included, and to make her magic important. Then she literally gets knocked over by Midas. What a jerk, she thought, and he literally could not say anything right. They both knew immediately that they were meant to be together but the communication was not good, all the physical sexy times were off the chart, but now her magic was on the fritz. How could that even happen.? You have to read this book. It is so exciting, and the answer to that question just makes the accumulation of their relationship perfect. This is the first book in this new series by RE Butler, and she always surprises me with a new twist. She has written so many books, and so many wonderful series that it amazes me how to improve, and keep readers attention throughout the book. Love this book. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

As always R.E. Butler delivered a great story with some delicious spice to heat it up. This story has all the best pieces of your favorite romcoms and were-stories. Miscommunications, super charged emotions, bad timing, were politics, and plain failures in humanity, all play a part in the journey of Midas and his newly discovered true mate. The protagonists make you want to cheer and pull your hair out in frustration. They stumble along their parallel paths (that often intersect) and I found I was (not so patiently) waiting for them to finally intertwine. As for the antagonists... you really just want them to meet the fate they deserve. They truly represent the worst of humanity as they walk, talk, and act with unmitigated prejudice and hate, while doling out vigilante "justice" that is anything but just. I am eager to see where this story goes next. So as I venture onto book two, I am left with a Shakespearean line ringing in my head...."O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"

What a captivating story it will easily grab your attention. There's a combination of excitement and secrets that's full of suspense. I really enjoyed characters they are so amazing and great to read. When you add the drama along with lots of emotions plus some intriguing compelling events then you have a story that's fantastic and amazing.The story has a suspenseful vibe the couple is true mate's but they are at odds with each other but can't help the love they feel for each other. Their relationship is loads of work and heartache but their passion burns up the pages with their chemistry. This story is truly delightful that will put a smile on your face because it's such a pleasurable experience to read. I Highly Recommend if you are in the mood for a enjoyable experience then you'll enjoy reading this!

Midas is king of the Ohio tiger ambush. He is tired of dating women that are after his position. Maya is a Wiccan and wants to be first in her mates life. Her last boyfriend even told her that the pack would come before her. She decides to move to Ohio and start over. She works in a little store and is at the door when it opens and she is knocked in the head. Maya loses her powers but comes back whenever Midas is around. Both are distrustful of each other and then someone blows up the bank Midas and his crew are renovating. HAS Humans Against Shifters have kidnapped Maya and Midas will do whatever it takes to get her back.
Pretty good story. It just drove me crazy how they kept going back and forth whether they liked each other or not. Sexy.

Midas and Maya are quite the duo at the start. They both have some upsetting past experiences which they allow to cloud their relationship from the get go.
They don’t communicate with each other and it takes others to tell them how stupid they are both being and to actually talk and listen to one another.
Midas not only has to figure out how not to be an ass but also deal with an anti shifter group much like the anti vampire group his allies recently felt with.
Maya gets caught in the middle of this rift as well.
Highly recommend this book!

Midas manages to get off to a bad start with Maya and it just gets worse from there. These two are a mess. Miscommunication, assumptions, and a whole lot of misunderstanding. Both of them have a chip on their shoulders and distrust is prevalent. I liked that they turned to others to help them bridge those problems. The bad guys are wreaking havoc so there is plenty of action.

From the beginning Midas and Maya misunderstand each others intentions and their bad communication escalades from bad to worse over each meeting. It takes some trouple from a new anti-shifter group and their friends advice to make them see the others point of view. And some exciting new twists with Magic I will not be spoiling for you. You will probably want to yell at them both for their narrow view before they get their head on strait, but loved the story.

Midas is the king tigers and he just works 2 much and does his Kings duty. She moved into town recently 4 a change. When he accidentally hits her with the door, its like a starting of a new friendship if they both tried 2. There is evil trying 2 get them all but when she is kidnapped 4 sum unexpected reason things get a little dicey. Can they become mates or give up everything 4 each other and more? I really enjoyed this alot!!

Good story
When your magic requires your mate to work you are made for greater things! If only they took time to actually talk maybe things would have gone better. Everything went to fast and assumptions were made based on past and not current life. Interesting how it changed and worked out. Grrrrr tigers are great!

Amazing book
Loved the characters, loved the story line. This book can be read as a stand alone. Some drama, nailbiter moments, and a HEA guaranteed. Includes shifters, Wiccans, and Vampires. It's the whole enchilada wrapped in one book. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
