So, before you judge me too harshly for what I’m about to tell you, I think it’s important to lead with the disclaimer that this is not like me. At all.
If somebody Googled "cautious, responsible, people-pleasing eldest daughter", a picture would probably come up of me baking twenty-four loaves of banana bread for all the neighbors in our building after my roommate flooded the bathroom.
So, as you can see, I am not the kind of person to catch feelings for my ex’s tech-billionaire father after spending three days stranded at his house over Christmas.
Nor am I the type to keep in touch with him after I go home, keeping up the façade of friendship when the unspoken “if only things were different” hangs over our heads.
Now, it’s Valentine’s Day, and Julian Ballard is on my doorstep.

If I don't find someone who writes letters and loves like Julian then I don't want it 😭.
This book was so heartwarming you don't understand. I've always clicked with CW's writing and no joke fell in love with her work. There's so much depth packed into these stories and I'm obsessed.
I related so much with Honor (as the eldest daughter who also happens to be a people pleaser I felt exposed), and about her thoughts on love. It was so satisfying to see her get her happy ending- when I tell you this book made me feel SO single 💀.
I didn't LOVE this one as much as some of my other favourites by CM, which came down to personal preference: I'm the type of person that loves reading a romance from start to finish, without time jumps and flashbacks throughout the story. But I genuinely enjoyed this and can't wait for the next book!

Such a fun ex's dad romance! We get flashbacks to when she visited and they started catching feelings, to now when he comes into town and never wants to leave again because he's just so gone for her. He is GONE and I love a billionaire who will do anything for his woman!

While the way they met was less than what most would call a “meet-cute”, there was no stopping Julian & Honor’s undeniable connection. It was absolutely fate! They both tried to fight it, and in the meantime formed an unlikely friendship that was destined for more.
If you haven’t read a Cleo White book yet, the spice is SPICY. 🔥 She has a way of writing unbelievably hot scenes that don’t overtake the storyline but only add to it. I typically don’t read many novellas because it’s hard to get the level of connection needed in a shortened story, but somehow Cleo does it! Throughout her books, I never feel like I’m missing anything or that the pacing isn’t absolutely spot on. There’s character development, a storyline that’s impossible not to get fully invested in, and hot spice all wrapped up in a shorter length. It’s really a skill most authors can’t accomplish, but CW does!
The character dynamics of Julian and Honor were pure perfection. 👌 With a palpable taboo tension, Julian struggled through the internal battles of wanting someone who should be completely off limits and his strained relationship with his daughter. I swooned so hard for this man!

I knew after the first novella in this series that Cleo was going to be an auto buy author for me and this one? DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.
Honor Vogel, daughter of Bram and best friend of Sophie from Chilled & Thrilled, sets off to California to spend the holidays meeting her girlfriend’s family. Upon arriving she finds out about her infidelity and ends the relationship. With nowhere to go and no one else she knows in the state she finds herself at her now ex girlfriend’s father’s house. Julian was not what she was expecting and his actions prove even more to her that she is better off after ending her tumultuous relationship with his daughter. After their time together Honor doesn’t think anything can happen between the two of them. Julian, on the other hand, decides he will stop at nothing to make Honor his.
In the dictionary next to the saying “if he wanted to, he would” there is a picture of Julian mfin Ballard. This man moves mountains just to show Honor that he cares for her and she doesn’t have to worry about anything anymore. I love these novellas because they’re quick and fun and flirty and spicy while still being heart warming with a tiny pinch of conflict but NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP HELLERRRRR 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Such a cute romance right in time for Valentines Day!
My favorite romance tropes are age gap followed by forbidden romance, and we got both with Honor and Julian! As always, Cleo’s execution of an age gap romance was flawless (i.e. no power imbalances, no pressuring of the younger FMC, no making the younger FMC appear naïve and weak). The forbidden aspect had an extra kick in this one with Julian being Honor’s ex-girlfriend’s dad! I will never get enough of this specific trope because it’s like Daddy’s taking care of business where junior couldn’t! I don’t know, maybe something’s wrong with me, but that’s so sexy!
Speaking of which, the way this man just hopped on a plane with a whole new life planned so he could finally make his move was a classic romance move!! That’s the thing about Cleo White books, they just scream LOVE!
I loved the representation we got of Honor being bi-sexual, and further having only been with women sexually. It was noted but not harped on, which I felt was perfect. Because of this, it came across truly as the author wanting to represent the LGBTQIA+ community, rather than her trying to check a diversity checkbox.
Of course, I loved the Sophie and Bram (book 1 MCs) cameo. I liked watching Bram go all father figure for Honor’s safety and reputation, and how Julian was right there with him. It was fun to see him step out of MC status and go into the territorial father role a bit. Especially loved that the sister’s learned to “use” Sophie to calm him down!
Speaking of which, I NEED THE NEXT BOOK! I have had a prediction from the very beginning that Leni and Holden are going to be my favorite and I’m usually right about these things!! Y’all, I seriously cannot wait!!!
It’s Cleo White so the spice was fantastic and the romance was top-notch book boyfriend/girlfriend! The mouth on this man with his slight degradation kink, OH MY GOD! I absolutely could not get enough! As with every review of Cleo’s I do, I just can’t help but share a couple of my favorite spicy quotes with you.

4.5 Stars ⭐️Julian met Honor when she came to his estate in California for Christmas. When he first saw her, she was devastated because she found out that Riley, her ex-girlfriend and Julian’s daughter, had been cheating on her. They spent 3 days together during Christmas, but nothing happened except for they fell in love with each other. They talked and texted since she left California until he couldn’t stay away from her. He created a nonprofit and made a big donation to the nonprofit that she worked with, so that he could be with her. Honor was all in with Julian, but they had to deal with the fallout from being together. The romance was hot and the pining was everything! The character growth was good for a novella and I loved how Honor called her dad out for being a hypocrite. This is a great Valentine’s Day Novella!

Cleo's books always deliver! Whenever I'm in the mood for a quick, fun read filled with sweet and spicy romance, I know her stories will hit the spot. Kissed and Missed is the second book in the Daddy Issues series, and it follows the journey of Honor and Julian.
The story kicks off with Honor heading to spend the Christmas holiday with her girlfriend's family, only to discover that her girlfriend is cheating on her. That unexpected twist leads her to spend three days with Julian, her ex's dad. Their chemistry is undeniable, but they both know they must tread carefully. Once Honor returns home, they keep in touch, and their feelings for each other only grow stronger. Julian ultimately decides to go after her, consequences be damned!
"You'll never have to wonder if you made the right choice in being mine, because I'll prove that you have."
Julian is a super wealthy man, but despite having everything money can buy, he feels lonely. The women in his life are more interested in his bank account than him, but everything changes when he meets Honor. The way he treats her is just swoon-worthy—he’s protective, attentive, and makes her feel special.
Honor is the responsible eldest daughter: smart, mature, independent, and a people pleaser. In her past relationships, she often gave more than she received. But Julian treats her like a queen, making her feel cherished and loved. It’s so heartwarming to see her start to trust him to take care of her.
This book is a delightful blend of romance and steamy moments. Once the spice kicked in, I couldn’t get enough of Julian’s dirty talk! Also, it was great to see Bram and Sophie again. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!

I think that Cleo White may have actually perfected writing the age gap. I mean, Chilled and Thrilled was chef’s kiss and I was so blown away by it, but there’s always that fear that maybe it was a one off? Happy to report, it wasn’t.
Until Cleo, I had never read an age gap that didn’t have a single ick. It’s a very difficult trope for me, and to have found an author who I feel can write it so well is huge. If you haven’t read the first book in this series, absolutely go and do that now - I’ve included my review for it on the second slide in case you missed it, and then come back and read this one because it picks up right where we left off.
In this second book we have Honor, our previous MMC’s oldest daughter, who falls for her ex girlfriend’s father. Yea there’s a lot to unpack there and it’s done so perfectly, which is also really hard to do in novella because you don’t have a lot of time. She really tastefully touches on the complexities of things like being bi-sexual and having body image insecurities, but she does it in a way that draws attention to it yet it doesn’t drown out the story - which was so fucking refreshing. It’s relatable and empowering and absolutely perfectly done.
It does move quickly, and I would’ve loved a bit more angst and pining but that’s hard to pull off with so little time. If this had been a full length novel with our characters being a little more tortured, I would’ve easily given it five stars.
It’s sweet with just the right amount of spice (which is fucking excellent!) and is a nice quick novella that you could easily get through in an evening. I would definitely recommend this series and am really excited to find out what happens with Lenora in the next book!

Another absolutely delicious, sweet, swoony, spicy novella from Cleo that did NOT DISAPPOINT ! Because I’m convinced that Cleo can do no wrong when it comes to literally anything. Let’s break it down:
We know Honor from Chilled & Thrilled. She breaks up with her girlfriend of a couple years after finding out she’s been cheating on her and ends up spending the Christmas break with Julian, her ex’s dad. Hot billionaire dad. Yep. Ex girlfriend’s dad. You heard it right.
Not much happens while she’s staying at his house, but the feelings never seem to die for either of them. They continue to text when Honor goes back home, and the PINING.. GAHH. So much pining.

A super short, spicy and sweet age gap, billionaire romance! I enjoyed this almost as much as the first one. The writing style is very easy to binge with a good plot. The chemistry was there, and I liked the characters, however they lacked some development, due to the story being so short. I would have enjoyed more tension and build up. Otherwise, this is perfect if you're looking for a quick palette cleanser with good spice.

Cleo White is an auto buy author for me and this book just reinforced everything I already knew and loved about her books. Kissed and Missed has enough spice for those who are here for that and enough swoon worthy romance for those who are here for that too!
What to expect: Honor finds out her girlfriend is cheating on her as she arrives to visit her at her dad’s house. The (now ex) girlfriend doesn’t show up and that leaves Honor with her ex’s dad for 3 days. They both develop feelings but don’t act on them because of the circumstances: “’If things were different, I wouldn’t let you leave,’ Julian admits, and the words sounds rough, as though he has to work to get them out. I try my best to smile but can’t quite manage it. ‘If things were different, I would stay.’” My heart!! They go their separate ways after their 3 days together but not for long.
Honor is the first woman to love Julian not for the money he has but for who he is as a person. It’s a stark contrast to the other women in his life including his own family.
It reminds me of how in another one of Cleo’s books the MMC sees how unloved the FMC is by her family and him with his influence, maturity and resources steps in and defends her and is the first to love her truly. This is like the reverse in that the man who has seemingly everything is just as in need of genuine love, and just because you have power and money doesn’t mean you don’t have vulnerabilities and need someone who sees and loves you for you. And now I’m crying! Ugh this book was absolutely beautiful and I loved everything about it. “Have I ever been this happy? After a lifetime of doing what I thought was right, it seems so clear now that there is a tremendous difference between thinking and knowing, and right now, I know. This woman is my future.”

Cleo always manages to write short and sweet novellas that contain hella plot, while also ensuring the spice doesn't detract from it - it only enhances it.
I loved learning more about Julian and Honor's time together, that we had a brief glimpse into during Chilled & Thrilled; and I adored seeing how Bram and Sophie were doing; as well as how Leni and Honor were coping with their best friend being in a relationship with their dad.
Looking forward to seeing more of Leni in book 3!

Another fun forbidden romance in this series! Honor (the best friend of the heroine/daughter of the hero from the first book) goes to visit her ex's parents for the holidays, but finds out via text that she's been cheated on and her ex won't be joining her. Until the storm blows over, Honor spends a few days with her ex's dad, Julian, at his house. These two form an unspoken bond, and share a few moments together before she flies back home. Neither can stop thinking each other, and Honor wants to be somebody's Valentine, so of course Julian is going to make that happen!
Like the first book, this was an easy read! Julian was a man smitten, and Honor deserved that after dealing with less than stellar relationships. The epilogue was very satisfying as well.
Highly recommend if you love forbidden/age gap romances!

I absolutely loved this Valentine’s Day novella! In true Cleo White fashion, she manages to deliver another fast paced story filled with forbidden attraction, chemistry, plot and plenty of spice under 200 pages.
Book 2 in the Daddy Issues series follows Honor Vogel and Julian Ballard and is told in a Dual POV. I really enjoyed the flashback chapters as we get to witness Julian and Honor’s first meeting. You could feel that their connection was deeper than just physical attraction or money. Julian’s protective side made me love him even more. They way he cared for Honor was sweet. There was a really good balance between the sweet and spicy parts of this story.
If you are looking for a spicy quick read, you should read this book!

The MMC and FMC were cute. The relationship was adorable, and their story was great. Julian is a walking green flag and honestly couldn't do any wrong, in my opinion. Personally for me I wish the book was one continuous time line I didn't feel there was really any secrets hidden from the orginal encounter that it couldn't have been just continuous and also I haven't read Chilled and Thrilled yet so I lacked the connection to Sophie and Bram so their cute comments and quirks felt weird to me sometimes. But overall, I loved this couple, and the story it was sweet and spicy.

This is my first read by Cleo White and I enjoyed it! I enjoyed this novella because it gives you a taste of this world and you're able to dip your toes into see if it's something you can get into. I fell head first 😂.
Honor & Julian shared between them that they had to deal with Julians daughter was a bit of an insufferable brat who was more than ungrateful for the life she had. She didn't care that she stepped on anyone else as long as she got what she wanted. Unfortunately these two were stepped on for the last time.
I enjoyed being able to see their before and after of when they were planning the benefit. But I wish we could have just gotten a seamless before and after. It was a bit choppy going back and forth. I feel as if there was also a bit too much out into this story for it to be a novella. If it would have been a full fledge story it could have worked better.
But overall I enjoyed this novella and the characters it involved!

I knew I would love this simply because I love Cleo White! Also because I loved Chilled and Thrilled and was excited to continue on the story in this world with Honor and Julian this time around. This was everything I needed. It was a super cute, slightly cheesy, and spicy age gap romance. I liked the plot, FINALLY we get a billionaire romance where the FMC is absolutely appalled when the MMC spends money. Like I get it, feminism and all, but in these billionaire romances, sometimes I'm like, dammit let him spend the money and take it! He can afford it!

I typically don’t go for books that are a sequel to another where it focuses on a different couple, typically because the first couple becomes my immediate favorite, and I just don’t like to read other couples. However, this was different. Honor’s story was so…intriguing. It pulled me in, and I couldn’t stop reading. Just like any other Cleo book, it was sweet and spicy, and just what you need to bring to your romance tbr!

This was such a short and sweet book! Honor and Julian’s romance was torrid, fast paced, and so incredibly sweet. It was like a breath of fresh air reading a romance that knocked all obstacles out of the way to be together, rather than the dreaded breaking up/on again/off again type beat. Julian was so obsessed with Honor, he’d do anything for her and for that, I was in love.
