This is a 3.5 star read.

This has been my favourite Rebekka Franck novel so far, but I still prefer the Emma Frost series, maybe because I find Rebekka's fickleness in relation to bed partners so incongruous to her normally no nonsense personality.
"Nine, Ten ..... " was a remarkably quick and easy read culminating not only in the solving of a serial killer case but also the conclusion of a long running thread concerning the mastermind of a "murder club". Surprisingly I had already worked out who the mastermind was at the end of the previous book of the series but the reveal of the current killer did throw me a bit. (Ms. Rose is doing nothing for Danish tourism!)
An extremely enjoyable read, although the author's habit of filling the last 30-50% of the novel with excerpts of her other novels is beginning to wear thin on my patience. A few blurbs about her other books would suffice.

Holy Crap on a Cracker

Wow! Well if this book isn't a slap in the face, I don't know what is. It's the conclusion to the previous book and we'll, it's a ride.

Man, this author never fails to keep me turning page after page!!
This was such an intense read, and with so many side twists to it too. I couldn't get enough of it, to be honest. I literally devoured this story.
I think this is my favorite in the series so far. It was different, but in a good way. It still had all of the elements that I look for in a thriller/horror read. Had a wicked protagonist. Scared the pants off me. Had all of the gore you would expect from a mass murder story. It's the clever twists that Willow Rose puts in that make her a master at what she does!!
Okay, so there was one part, where this guy kills a chick for his reasons. Then he kills again and honestly, I had a groundhog moment. The chick wasn't killed in the same way but I got lost in who was being killed. It felt like the same chick for a minute.
But I digress....
Can't wait to read Eleven, Twelve, Dig and Delve. I just know it's gonna be epic.

Well, this was my last book in this series. At this point, I really dislike Rebekka, sorry.

Add to that the fact that there seemed to be two books going on here, and only tangentially related until the end: the killings and the weird circle of 'artists of murder' on one hand, and Rebekka's fucked up love life in the other one. And neither felt real.

And Rebeca Cade seems to be getting worse instead of better with each narration, so... this is my good by to the series :/

I love this book. Another great book by Willow Rose! I love the ending and I never saw it coming but it makes sense! I love this series and I just can't believe who the mastermind behind the serial killers was! Can you guess before the author reveals it to you?

Nine, Ten … Never Sleep Again by Willow Rose is book number five in the Rebekka Frank series, the last book in a five-volume boxed set. I liked this one the best and was looking forward to reading other series by this talented author. At the end of this volume, I found, however, that there are two other volumes in the Rebekka Frank series. Volume five ended in such a satisfactory manner that I can’t imagine what further horrible things could take place in the life of Rebekka Franck. She has had enough unusual serial killer events for five “ordinary” people. What more could possibly happen to her? A visit to Amazon free samples gave me the answer and I am sure I will soon read the other two books in the series.

Serial killers seem to be a theme for the five books in this series but the motives behind the killings are different. This novel offers four motives. 1)There are organ thieves involved. 2) and 3) There are two motives based on revenge. and 4) At least one of these characters/killers is batshit crazy. Lots of ground is covered here as far as gruesome deaths but there is still room for confusing romantic twists (yep, plural). As in all Willow Rose novels I have read, the writing captures my attention. Having read the previous for novels, I found a thread tying the five novels together interesting. Probably not necessary but it was sort of a bonus for readers who had read the previous four novels.

Henrick Fenger was on the road for business a lot. Varied female companionship took the edge of an unhappy home life. His most recent dalliance after which he woke up minus a kidney solved the problem of an unhappy home life when a police investigation of the lost kidney resulted in publicity that would cause his wife to leave him. Martin Damsgaard liked to pick up women for hotel trysts also. It had cost Martin a liver, not so good in that humans only had one. Henrick had at least survived. There would be other killings, not all of which led to an organ harvest, but all were monitored if not sanctioned by a gamemaster, Thomas De Quincy (not his real name). All the killers had artist or literary pseudonyms and communicated with each other on a net constructed by De Quincy. As a gamemaster, he tried to give them tips for success, motivate them to further kills, and collect tributes from his mentees in the form of body parts.

Into this rich killing environment wonders Rebekka Franck. She just wants to enjoy her vacation with daughter Julie as she attempts to rekindle a relationship with ex-husband Peter. But the duties of journalism call as her editor orders her and photographer Sune to cover the organ theft killings which just happen to have occurred near the site where she is on vacation. Husband Peter is not happy about the reappearance of Sune. He knows about Rebekka’s affection for her photographer. Husband Peter will have much to say. Things will not be pleasant.

Shame on the amateur sleuth reader who could not predict the end of this one. But the journey to the satisfying (to me) ending makes for a terrific read. The best book of the series (to date) I would give this a 4.5 Amazon star rating but I don’t think I can do that.

8/2012, Hotel Kragen (Brabrand, Denmark). Henrik Fenger (husband) enjoyed the sex immensely with the girl so he paid her very well.
It didn’t matter, someone had a syringe, & everything went black.
Aarhus (Lake Brabrand), Jutland, Denmark. Rebekka Franck (divorced, mother, reporter) was going to do her best to patch things up with Peter Henrik (Rebekka’s ex-husband/father), & Julie (their daughter).

Henrik later awoke but thought he was missing some human internal organs.
1/1995, Michael (husband/father), peeked under the baby blanket. Valdemar was born with no arms. Anna (mother) didn’t seem to care.
Henrik indeed was missing 1 kidney the Dr. told him.
Officer Frandsen & Officer Jansson came to take his statement.
Great news; Thomas De Quincey (aka Bill Durgin; aka Fred Einaudi; aka Allan Witt) package had arrived at his house.
Hotel Bellevue (Hasle, Denmark). Martin Damsgaard (husband/father) really enjoyed sex with Barbara. She knew all kinds of different positions not like his wife Marie.
Martin went to the bathroom, unfortunately everything went black.
Hotel Mercury (Silkeborg, Denmark). Arianna Kosakovski (house cleaning) knocked & then hollered when she entered room # 237.
Channel TV2 News was carrying the latest on human organ thefts.

Valdemar & Anna were celebrating his 4th. birthday.
9/2001, Michael was staying away from Valdemar & Anna more/more.
Silkeborg, Denmark. What was Henrik go see Annabelle Svendsen about?
Rebekka finally caught up with Henrik in a bar & was going to interview him.
Mr. Michael Jacobsen told Mrs. Anna Kragh this was it don’t expect him back ever.
For a 15-yr. old Anna thought Valdemar was quite a bright kid.
He also had acquired Cystic Fibrosis.
Will Michael & Anna get back together?
What about Valdemar?

Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written psychological horror book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great psychological horror movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

I have quickly become a fan of Willow Rose Rebekka Franck Series (I'm going to start some of her other books soon). This book, #5, starts with a businessman waking up in his hotel room after a quick hook up with an unknown woman, near death after being attacked. Soon, other businessmen are being attacked in a similar fashion. Rebekka, of course, just happens to be in the area where this is taking place. Although she is vacationing with her ex husband, Peter, and their daughter, Julie, she runs out on the family to go do a story. This causes more of a rift with Peter and makes her question what and who she wants in her life. However, this is quite the story and she soon becomes overtaken by the mystery. And it really is quite a mystery. As we read about the present mystery, we also read a story of the past, about a lonely, handicapped boy who has been shunned by his father but adored by his devoted mother. It leaves the reader to fit the pieces of the mystery together, while feeling for this poor little genius boy who only wants to be loved by his father. There is plenty of action (as always with Rebekka), and some crazy surprises that come up that you will just have to read to believe. Life is just never boring for our reporter heroine.

According to the synopsis, this is supposed to be the finale for the Rebekka Franck series, but as there are now two more books, obviously the author changed her mind. In terms of a conclusion to the series, I was a bit disappointed in this one. The big bad, who has had their hand in several things throughout the series, was way too predictable and the ending felt very rushed. The last book left me feeling somewhat ambivalent toward Rebekka and I can't say that this one did much to improve that opinion. For a supposedly smart, career-driven reporter, she is a terrible judge of character and an even worse decision maker. I've come this far with the Rebekka Franck series and my own curiosity won't let drop it here, so I will be checking out the next one. Hopefully, our more lucky than good heroine and the predictability of the story improves, or at least gets back to what I found in a couple of the earlier books.

Although this is the culmination of the previous book, it was supposed to be the final book in the series. There are at least two more after this one.

It is a little disappointing that the Kindle book is 58% NINE, TEN… and the rest is basically advertising for other books and an excerpt from book nine in another series. Hey, I'm all for the quick read, but this borders on being a novella at best.

NINE, TEN pulls all the previous books in line so that everything finally makes sense and all things inter-related. There is one character I didn't see coming; kudos to Ms. Rose for that! Then there was that other one that was foreshadowed just enough that I wasn't at all surprised.

It's one of those nights where I just can't sleep, so I'm off to read ELEVEN TWELVE…

What the hell Is wrong with you Willow Rose? How could you ever possibly think up such a gross, disgusting, gripping story line. Rebecca Franck a beloved journalist & her dedicated photographer fall onto the story of all stories. They know how to get the best pictures, where to find the best people with the most information for the stories they are sent to report on. But what events are happening in this small town in Denmark are totally beyond reason. I gave it a 5* rating for the intrigue & it’s ability to reel me in to keep reading. But then I was gasping for air as I could not believe or imagine the events taking ace. Hold on to your seats while reading g this for you may be grissed out with fear.

"Woot, Woot, Another Winner!"

In this remarkable thriller, Rebekka Franck is on vacation with her daughter, along with her ex-husband, Peter, with whom she is looking to mend fences. All the three of them want is to be a family again. But, being a journalist for the local paper, she's called to work on a murder case of Henrik Fenger. He had been in a bar, met a woman, and takes her to his hotel room. He winds up being the victim of a horrible crime. An internal organ has been removed from him ... he's found in the bathtub covered in ice. Organ theft!!! Gruesome, yet intoxicating story.

Had to call out of work to finish the book

This was the culmination of the first 4 books I have been waiting for. Even though book 4 left me wanting more and feeling like I had missed or skipped something this book was that something.
All of the authors books can be read and understood and enjoyed as stand alone but I highly suggest starting at One Two and reading the series from there and if not at least read Seven Eight before reading this book. This book is 1000% better having read the previous book but I'm sure it would still be enjoyable if this is the only Willow Rose book you read. Don't pass it up.

Nine, Ten ... is another great page-turner in the Rebekka Franck series. Oftentimes, I become bored with too many books in a series, but not this one. The author expertly keeps the stories getting more and more enjoyable with each next book.

There are a couple good storylines happening; one is will it be Peter or Sune for Rebekka and the other is about body parts mysteriously stolen from live people. Of course, there are murders to be solved too.

Okay, it did get a bit gruesome, but not enough to have me looking over my shoulder in the dark of night. Nine, Ten ... has great writing with a great ending. It’s a fantastic read.

I thought this was an excellent ending to the first five books in the Rebekka Franck series. I did figure out that Peter was Thomas De Quincey though. I'm pretty sure I was suppose to though. Although I did suspect Sune for just a minute. I'm glad Rebekka was able to get out of the situation she was in though. I hope her and Sune's relationship continues through the rest of the series.

One thing I didn't see coming was that Anna was Bill and was the person taking out other people's organs. That came as a total surprise, which really made the story of Anna and Valdamar make more sense in the end.

each book seems to be little more of a headache than the previous. Rebecca left Suni to get back with her husband Peter even though he was an abusive crazy a******. shocker she thinks he has miraculously changed and become her dream husband. as anyone with a brain cell can imagine it did not turn out in her favor. This was supposed to be the final book in the series but you are left with a will be continued + 11/12. needless to say I'm going to take a hard pass for multiple reasons. I hate when you are given what should be a strong female lead and she ends up being a total moron.

Ending or beginning?

Another thrilling page turner...finished in a day. Rebekka always find trouble but this time it truly is accidental. She just wants to put her family back together and instead it falls horribly apart. The new killer in this book was a surprise for me that I didn't see coming at all. All of my previous questions were answered though and it was as a suspected. I cannot wait to continue to read the rest of willow's books. She takes horror to a whole new level and find a way to add dimension and a good plot to each of her novels.

Shocking!!

There is a definite bombshell in this book! Do you not read this as a standalone! This will be so much more thrilling, if you read the previous four books. There is a definite, I repeat definite, huge twist that you will not see coming! This will absolutely leave your mouth hanging open, and your eyes open wide! As Rebecca, Peter, and Julie, try to spend some family time together, it starts as a simple vacation, but definitely does not end up that way. Find out what rip the family apart!

Story kept me reading as a report of a hotel guest found himself in a bathtub of ice with an organ missing. Rebekka's involvement in a previous case had her boss requesting she report on this one. Thrilling content as her ex husband Peter was not too excited about Rebekka spending more time away and his actions proved it. Eventually, the mysterious killers and their reasons were revealed and I was surprised a a couple of the culprit's identity. Good read

This as far as I go with the Rebekka Franck series.

The stories are okay. Its the insane number of typos, misspellings, grammatical and punctuation errors, improper slang use, and words totally missing from sentences! Its quite distracting. Another reader pointed out that the characters repeatedly "stormed into a room", and sure enough, they did! I made myself finish the book, to see if Rebekka would grow up? Sadly, she did not.

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.

The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

i would highly recommend this author and this book.

A quick read that adds a nice summary and conclusion of the first 4 books.
The narrator (audiobook) isn't the best, and sometimes mispronounces words (i.e. macabre), so still unsure if there is a language barrier somewhere or not.
All said, although somewhat predictable, this is a nice conclusion of the run of the first 5 books.

A excellent read

Nine, Ten... Never sleep again (book 5) is another excellent mystery with the usual interesting well developed characters. The story line is fast moving with lots of twist and turns leading too an unexpected conclusion. I would recommend this series too anyone who enjoys well written mysteries. Enjoy reading 2016

This book was a thriller and had mystery, romance, confusion, gore and stupid. Mentally sick people doing really gross things. I am a big fan of Willow Rose’s Eva Ray Thomas series. I’ve tried to like Rebekka Franck. But…just too way out there. I will try Rose’s new series (Billie Ann Wilde) and see how that goes. I won’t read another Rebekka Franck book.

Chat room murderers

Along with trying to reunite her family while on vacation, Rebekka has an assignment from her newspaper. For the first time ever, Denmark has an organ thief. First one kidney, victim survived, then an entire liver, victim died. What no one knows (except the members) that a secure chat room has been set up by a master murderer. You'll never guess who it is!

Scary

A surprisingly quick read, with lots of twists and turned. Rebekka is giving her ex husband a second chance but her heart still loves her ex boyfriend. A terrifying read about a serial killer removing body parts. A chilling ending.

Nine, Ten.....Never sleep again

Wow! Again I couldn't hardly put the book down. I kind of had a feeling that Rebekka's ex husband, Peter was up to something but sure didn't think that he would try to kill her especially with their daughter in the same house.
I loved it!
