Hollywood's Nantucket Gala. A mysterious death. A screenwriter whose secrets just might point to the truth -- if only she'll share them.
What really happened that night?
It was the summer of 1985 when an up-and-coming actress lost her life at The Nantucket Gala.
In attendance that night were Greta and Bernard Copperfield, a famous director named Francis Bianchi, his wife, and a rising actress set to star in Francis' next Natalie Masterson.
But Natalie never starred in Francis' production. She left Nantucket in a body bag.
Rumors circulated that Francis was the one who killed Natalie. But why would he take out his rising star? For some, it didn't add up.
But that night, Francis left the United States for Paris and never returned. Supposedly, there wasn't enough evidence to drag him back.
Time went on. Until now.
Henry Crawford is the grandson of Greta and Bernard Copperfield and a wanna-be screenwriter eager to prove himself in Hollywood. Like many others his age, his problems are numerous. He's broke, unsuccessful, and incredibly lonely -- until his Grandmother Greta asks that he meet the sophisticated hermit, Sophia Bianchi. She's an old friend, living not far from him.
Imagine Henry's surprise that Greta's "old friend" is the wife of his favorite American director, Francis Bianchi.
But Sophia tells him things about Francis that make him question his allegiance to the filmmaker --- and what really happened that night at The Nantucket Gala.
As Henry and Sophia fight for meaning in their creative endeavors and their unlikely friendship, they're forced to reckon with the facts of that night forty years ago, and ask themselves pertinent is a good story always true? Or should you fudge the facts a little to make it sing?

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
As I live and breathe…Katie Winters has done it again. Where does she get the motivation to write these incredible stories about the secrets of the select few of Nantucket? You’d think she was telling us truth instead of writing fiction! Trust me when I say these characters not only appear real—they ARE real within the confines of these beautifully written books. Nantucket Gala absolutely reeks of money, status, love, hate, murder—and the search for real truth. You definitely need to grab a copy of this one TODAY! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and am in awe of its story.) ❤️❤️ P. S.- Thank you, Katie Winters for another stellar read. Five stars are simply not enough!
Katie Winters once again brilliantly presents us with a forty-year-old mystery. Henry Crawford, grandson of Greta and Bernard Copperfield, is a young man who wants to be a screenwriter. After meeting Sophia Bianchi, he is intrigued by her life with her late husband, Francis. He uses his detective skills to learn more about the story. The characters are so well-drawn and the plot unique. I've learned to never expect the ordinary in these stories. I urge you to read this book.
Nantucket Gala is book 12 in the Nantucket Sunset series by Katie Winters, 4.5 stars

I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Exceptional writing that captivates and inspires. The author's skill shines through with remarkable clarity and depth, weaving words into a compelling narrative that resonates deeply.
I am enjoying the series, but "hand to the back of the neck" "curl behind ear", kiss with eyes open or closed are getting out of hand. I hate to say also that you need a new proofreader. I've found errors in all the books. Like, naming the wrong person speaking, things like that.
I really liked the concept of this book - there was a lot of flashbacks - but to a time when the Copperfield's weren't what they are today. The mystery of what happened to the famous director and his wife, was such a clever way to weave the story together. I also like that Katie is now featuring the younger Copperfields - the kids of the kids! Overall, great read.
Nantucket Gala is a very interesting book and I would consider it half mystery. Katie Winters does what she does best! With her core characters, she weaves in new people across the continents. Her plot unravels before our eyes for many hours of entertainment!
