I thoroughly enjoyed this story 🤩

Great Desolation is the second book in the series, and in order to understand it properly, you will need to read book 1 - Great Divide - which sets the scene.

Do not be put off while reading the first. All is not what it seems, and the ending will leave you wanting more.

Great Desolation is a fantastic read! I especially loved the parts where the FMC was 'doing her job'. Very powerful - lots of emotions....

Even at the end of the second book, the first thing I said was, "PLEASE TELL ME THERE'S ANOTHER BOOK!!!" There's still so much more I want to know and some wonderful possibilities ahead.

If you like angels, demons, Heaven, Hell, romance, plot twists, shock, trauma, savageness, gore, sadness, grief.... this is the book for you.

I would place it as YA, but it gets pretty dark at times, so I'm not sure it can be.

I devoured this book. Again, not my typical book. But something about this has me so eager to learn more.
It takes right off where the first book ended. She is alone and of course bitter and again, alone. She didnt have anyone. After duhman and Sam were gone. She wanted revenge more than ever.
It wasn't until she met O (cant remember the spelling for his full name) that she finally found a friend. They became such great friends.
She meets Gabe who is Duhmans grandson. He was reincarnated into a man named Edward. She starts to have feelings for Gabe but she wanted to get Sam back.
So she worked with Annaban and Alazar to getting her back.
But Annaban tricked her and she actually brought the antichrist back. Millions of people were dying. And Emma learned she could not die either.
She spoke with God and told her she was not alone.
Gabe, O, Sakeheit and a few others stayed behind to help her to take back Earth.

Each book in this series shocks me in different ways and I love it. It's not often I get surprised by a book so that is very refreshing.

This book felt darker than the first and really jumped into the angels and demons. I love Emma's role as a death angel and how her experience with that gives us insight into her depth of character more. She has excellent character development in a very organic way!

Who couldn't love the supporting characters? They are all defined and have unique voices, something I think gets lost in urban fantasy.

Without spoiling anything, I definitely feel this has later seasons of Supernatural vibes. Vanessa Kramer does a great job of describing this world and making a familiar concept feel different and refreshing!

This is my first time actually leaving a review for a book since I normally just read and move on to the next one in my TBR but this one stuck with me. Downloaded both the first and second book as part of a free promotional ebook giveaway months ago. Just now finished reading through both and I absolutely loved them. Very excited to see that the author is about to release the third book since the second one ended on such a big cliffhanger and left me wanting more!

Great read!! Demons VS Angels... brimstone and fire... twisted plot and fabulous "world building" for Paradise and Hades. Can't wait for the next book in the series... love all the supporting characters for Emma.

Amazing continuation from how the last book ends! I really enjoy all the characters, old and new! I will say that this one ends on a huge cliffhanger, so I really hope there is another book to continue the story.
