He’s the man she’s secretly loved since she was a teenager. She’s the forbidden woman he can’t forget.
After humiliating herself at her sister’s lavish wedding, Sky flees the grand Mexican estate for the wilds of far-away places. But when her sister needs help, Sky rushes home and into the very unexpected role of nanny to her adorable baby nephew.
For six years, Rafa has been tormented by the memories of a forbidden tryst at his brother’s wedding. But when tragedy strikes the family, Rafa will do anything to keep his nephew safe.
Even if that means offering Sky a marriage of convenience.
A marriage they both insist will never be anything more than a business arrangement.
Unless, of course, Rafa’s scheming mother and sisters have anything to say about it...
When I’m not chasing after my wild preschooler, I like to write super sexy romances and scorching hot erotica. I live in Texas with a husband who could easily snag a job as an extra on History Channel’s new Viking series, a sweet but rowdy three-year-old with Tetralogy of Fallot, and Bosley, our Great Dane with major mommy issues.
I also have another dirty-book writing alter ego, Lolita Lopez, who writes deliciously steamy tales for Ellora’s Cave, Forever Yours/Grand Central, Mischief/Harper Collins UK, Siren Publishing and Cleis Press.
3.9 stars. I adore this author. She got me hooked with her other books. I was sad that we weren't getting a new book from an established series but I was like this'll be good.
This is a bit sad at the beginning. We keet Sky and Rafael at a wedding. You get a spicy moment and then the sad moments come. Myself, had a hard time with that but that's a personal thing that I'm still struggling with. So, if you're struggling, you've been warned. When Sky and Rafael have their moment, Rafael does the typical guy thing and says the wrong thing. As, Sky is processing that she deals with a bad person and they make it worse. As, Rafael and Sky navigate their sadness and come together for their nephew. They each have these moments where words and actions are done wrong, maybe with the right intentions but still not good. Overall, a good start to a new series and I can't wait to see who is next up.
Jasper was the only thing they had left of their siblings. Rafel lost his brother and Sky lost her sister. With Jaine and Maddie's death, they wanted Sky to be their baby Jasper's guardian. But with an Angry stepmother to Sky and Jasper's grandmother hot on her trail suing for custody. Sky and Rafa wanted to make sure custody stayed with Sky. They did what they had to do to seal the deal.
It was no problem for Rafa and Sky as they had feelings for each other already and Beverly was going to try to blackmail with their only contact.
I loved the drama in this story. Rafa and Sky may have married to protect Jasper but their love developed and bloomed because of it.
I knew I was going to love this story when I was crying so early in the story.
Sky and Rafa have a connection but when they are charged with having to take care of their nephew, they finally have a chance to explore the attraction that’s been there for a while.
This was a great story. Roxie can always weave a tale that gets you sucked into the lives of the characters. I loved the Spanish connection and cultural inclusion.
I absolutely LOVED this book! As with all her writing . This book kept me interested the whole way through. I am already on my reread. Looking forward to the next book! If you are just discovering Roxie you have got to go to her site and read ALL her work! You will NOT be disappointed.
These two were on different wavelengths, then suddenly, they weren’t. It was a good build-up, and great attraction, and solid reasons for being apart. Everything was hopeless, then when they actually spoke to each other truthfully, they faced the truth, they always had, and would be, perfect for each other <3
