Hey everyone, I'm LS Phoenix, and I live in a small town in New England. I’ve been with my high school sweetheart since I was 16, we married in our mid 20’s and had 3 amazing children who are now the best well rounded adults I know. They keep me on my toes and bring endless joy to my life. I’m not sure where I would be without any of them in my life. Now, here's how I ended up in the world of writing. I’m an avid reader myself and one day as I was reading a book I thought, hmm, I can do this. I used to write when I was in school and I always loved it. I’m a very creative person, sometimes too creative. Is that a thing? Anyway, an idea pops into my head, and it gets stuck and won't go away until I write it all down. then it just spiraled from there and I kept writing. So yeah, I dove headfirst into a sea of words and emotions, all because my brain just wouldn't let it go, and I’m completely okay with that! I love writing! I'm all about soaking in the beauty of the world and finding inspiration around me. Each character I create, every twist I write, is a reflection of the journey we call life. So I hope you’ll join me on this ride. I can't wait to share my stories and characters with you.
Amelia meets Matteo as a one night stand, but they soon discover that who they believed to be strangers are actually coworkers, and start seeing each other all the time. That is not a problem for both, because thay fall for each other and fast. All is going well, until his family pressures him to assume some family obligations, including an arranged marriage, and he complies, leaving Amelia for the duty to his family. They are both miserable without one another. He can't stand his fianceé and Amelia can't forget what they had and how she felt. Several months later they meet again and what they believes to be erased and forgotten revives and is very much alive. But how can they be together when one is engaged to another and when the other is so hurt she doesn't know how to forgive him? Oh, and lets not forget Valentina.. can we hate her even more? Wat a despicable and evil woman. Gezz.. Things escalate when Amelia is in danger, and they are forced to make decisions. What will they choose? I really liked Amelia, mainly her strenght. She was sweet but fierce and driven. Matteo was a loving man, but kind of conffllicted and had trouble making decisions. Their story was told in dual timeline, so we could understand their relationship maily during those flashbacks, and I would have liked to read more of their interactions in the present.
Full review- I’ll start by saying I really enjoyed Amelia as the FMC. I thought, “Yay, it’s finally her turn to get a HEA”. She was strong, independent, and fiercely loyal; she deserved the world. Matteo on the other hand, could’ve found a different book to be in for all I care. He was childish, selfish, and unable to stand up for what he wanted for way too long. While I enjoyed the tie in to the darker side of romance, this book didn’t need it. If he had been an adult from the beginning, no one would’ve ended up in the situations they did. I know third act breakups and immature MMCs growing up are part of some novels, but they have to be decently likable as a character and he just isn’t. I do enjoy the authors writing style and her ability to write the cute, spicy, and funny moments. I’d definitely read more from her in the future. I just truly couldn’t stand the MMC and wasn’t rooting for him on this one.
This might be a contemporary romance, but it has dark themes. Please check triggers before going into it. It can be trigging for some. This book will give some strong emotions, and this one is for sure: you will strongly dislike Valentina... she so deserves so much worse, trust me... she got off way too easy. Amelia loves with her whole heart and ends up getting her the most. Matteo thought he was doing the right thing, so she didn't get hurt, but she ended up way worse than not. When they came together and fought for what they wanted, nothing could stop them. It was a beautifully written book and I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
I absolutely loved this installment featuring Amelia and Matteo. Amelia's been a prominent friend and featured in the other books so it was great finding out her backstory and where she is currently in her life. I loved how this was written, we had it all in this book- spice, action and a hea. I loved the development and the characters really brought this storyline together. Each time I read this series I get a new favourite but I honestly think Amelia is my favourite. I love this series so much.
• forced proximity • 2nd chance • mafia background • arranged marriage • k!dn@pping/t0rture • HEA
The wrap up of the series, was the best one by far! It was amazing. The addition of the mafia to this series was super good! I loved Dr Lombardi and Amelia! The one friend who was always so quick to help everyone else find their happiness finally finds hers! This whole series is by far just a sweet innocent series. They all have their heartbreak, some trauma lots of spice and then their happily ever after. Loved it!!
It was a beautifully written book, but I do not think it is for me (I hate one-night stand tropes)... and I probably should mention that I read this one before the other books in the series, which I know is a HUGE mistake (kisses to the author for being kind enough to send me an arc); that is why I will be reading the other books now because I fell in love with the author's writing, and yes, I will give this book another shot, and I am sure I will give it a higher rating.
This book is actually better than I expected. This book had a pretty good plot and it kept me intrigued. The relationship between Amelia and Matteo had me pulling for them. I would recommend being cautious because some things could trigger readers. I definitely want to explore more from this author!
