I’m staring out my window sleepily, trying to corral my thoughts, when I see a shooting star streak through the sky. I flash back to what Tay said.
If something special comes along, don’t be afraid to grab it.
“I wish for that. My own something special.”
Following a rough breakup, Reese has to move in with a friend of a friend. Unpacking, she comes across Christmas cards she made with her ex and doesn’t think much before throwing the whole pile in the trash. A single envelope makes its way back to her desk, and she wakes up in a dream world to find the girl of her dreams. The next morning, she can’t help but give this lone envelope a second look.
Licked is book 8 in the Kyleverse, a series of sentient object romance short stories. Kyle isn’t the main character, but he shows up to help the plot in one way or another. The stories are sequential but can be read as standalones.
Licked is a sentient object romance with explicit material. It is intended for 18+ readers.
Nicole Parker is the author of creative and humorous romance stories. She is a 30-something California native who spends the great majority of her free time writing books, reading books, or organizing her ever growing TBR list. She also has a spouse, some kids, and pets, but this isn't about them. Nicole's books are funny, raunchy, silly, and most importantly full of good vibes and happy endings.
This one was tad more emotional than the previous ones. It made for an interesting read. I enjoyed it. In this installment we follows Reese. She’s just broken up with her ex and is moving in with our well known man in this series Kyle. As Reese is going through her things she stumbles across some envelopes that contain Christmas cards she made with her ex. She’s about to thrown them all away until one of them particularly catches her interest.
Yep you guessed it. This sentient object is an envelope!!
I’m almost done with this series as I only have a few more left to go. I’ve had fun with these.
Another amazing addition to the Kyleverse series! Our first FF of the series and it was amazing! Abit more emotional than the others but I loved it anyway! I love the friendship between them all and of course Kyle. Reese and Alora was so cute!
Licked was such a sweet read, mixed with a bit of gingerbread spice! Nicole did an awesome creating Licked’s main characters and their dream world. I absolutely adore Reese and Alora together. Both women find each-other in a time when they need healing, care, respect and love. They were absolutely made for eachother! I also loved getting to see more depth from Kyle! He’s always the best and he just gets better with each book in the Kyleverse. And in typical Nicole fashion, this book’s spice will leave you speechless and wondering if you really just read that. Yes, you did! And yes, you loved it!
Another great story for the Kyleverse, perfect for kicking off the festive Christmas season, with that touch of spice that we love so much. Reese and Alora, what a beautiful couple—I found them both super cozy, and I loved that. Who would have thought an envelope could be so sexy and give you such daring thoughts? Nicole never ceases to amaze me. These books should be part of the guide for what everyone must read when entering the world of sentient erotica. Kyle is the perfect companion to rekindle the flame of passion. Kyle is a must-have to help in any situation. I can’t wait to see what Nicole brings us next.
Nicole has done it again with her Kyleverse books! This one was a sapphic romance that was more emotional than the others! We got to see a little more depth to Kyle and the ending was just so cute!!!
Well, you can’t say this wasn’t fun, a little unhinged, but also hilarious. I’m still trying to learn more about Kyle, and I’m determined to fully know that man.
It’s so good you’ll want to lick it… I did. Licked is a super cute spicy sapphic holiday romance. We get to meet Reese and her very special envelope. Our main man Kyle pops up throughout to help guide Reese and be the support she needs while she navigates this new journey. Honestly I don’t know how Nicole does it, she can turn any object into the perfect love story.
Overall, add this to your holiday TBR. It’s short, cute, spicy and everything you could want.
“The message here is not for anyone to stop sleeping with Kyle. Everyone keep sleeping with Kyle”
I love the Kyleverse!!
After a hard breakup, Reese is looking to move on. What better way than to get rid of the couples Christmas cards, (save those envelopes!) and dream up the perfect girl! Even Kyle is stumped this time!!
F/F sentient romance Hot as hell Seasonal Christmas romance Novella Kyle!
If something special comes along, don’t be afraid to grab it 😉
I really enjoyed the story line of how this lil envelope came to be. It entertained me that anything that the envelope experienced, she tried to do in the dream.
Also, Reese is a cinnamon roll for sure! Weird envelope? Let's talk to it!
It was cute how she interacted with her envelope during the day
the first (and i hope not last) FF installment in the kyleverse. kyle once again proves he can match (and outmatch) everyone’s freak. licking and fingering an envelope has never been so hot. i am obsessed with these books and i hope nicole never stops writing them. elora and reese are so dang adorable and i love them.
Nicole writing FF? Sentient gingerbread flavored envelope dream girl? YES PLEASE! I absolutely love Reese and Alora's story. 🫠 Never thought I would be up in the Kyleverse tearing up, but here I am. This one was SO SWEET, but still with all the Nicole Parker spice and Kyle shenanigans that we know and love. I will never ever EVER get sick of these.
Expect: 💚 Dream play ✉️ Envelope lovin 💚 Gingerbread flavor ✉️ Kyle. Rope. 😉 💚 Secrets coming out
Licked is an adorably sexy sapphic holiday romance! Reese and her magical envelope-turned-dream-woman Alora make for the sweetest, most unique love story. The dreamy spice was delightful, and there was minimal Kyle time (he played his part perfectly!). I adore dream play, so this one had me hooked from the start. Reese is so relatable, and falling for her and Alora felt effortless. Highly recommend for a cozy, heartwarming, and a little wild read!
Another fun book in the Kyleverse. I LOVE how Kyle pops in and out of the books. It add a fun layer to a quick sentient romance that is 100% unique to this genre. And for this specific book….well….let just say I decided to change my order to Peel and Stick envelopes because I am not sure if I will ever look at licking one the same again
Thank you to the author for the earc, all opinions are my own.
Another steamy installment to the Kyleverse. This time someone is stuck inside of an envelope. Kyle is not nearly as involved, and the worlds are colliding.
This book was so fun. 😜 I loved all the little Christmas touches like the envelope and Alora tasting like gingerbread cookies. 🍪 Kyle is always a pleasure to see again. 😍😍 I’m like shoot this man must have a PACKED schedule at this point being everyone’s FWB guy. 😂 if you want some hot spice plus a cute love story, check this one out. 🤩
Ahhh this was so stinking cute! Tooth rotting fluff right here. Reese & Alora were precious. Really loving this series & I need to go back & read the rest! I can’t wait to see what else Nicole has up her sleeve!
I'm so glad I found this before Christmas! Seriously, how creative! I'd have never thought of a sentient Christmas card envelope, but I love it. And I love Alora's explanation for why an envelope, though her friend, Blake, is a bit of a jerk >.>
Reese being absolutely stupefied at Kyle's lack of judgment and huge tolerance for weird things was the best! It really flipped the script since typical romance stories have people being surprised at someone being judgy, so this was a very entertaining new take. Poor Kyle keeping all these secrets about how everyone got together. I'm going to need the non-sentient object partners to form a club or something to talk about their sentient object partners (or have an orgy, I'm not picky!).
I snorted at the epilogue so hard when Kyle brought Taylor, Connor, Reese, and Alora together, and everyone thought the point was to start not getting together with Kyle. Definitely not what he was trying to do 😂
This novella has all the usual humour of Nicole Parker’s books, but it’s also very emotional. I think this is the book in the Kyleverse that has moved me the most so far.
Reese is really a character you want to comfort after the breakup she didn’t see coming. Luckily, Kyle is always incredibly supportive. He doesn’t hesitate for a moment to agree to share an apartment with her, and he doesn’t ask any questions when he’s drawn into Reese’s dreams of Alora—this isn’t his first sentient object. As for Alora, she radiated a great sense of gentleness behind her melancholy.
In short, I loved the book, and who would have thought that Kyle still had secrets for us? In any case, thanks to his knowledge, he quickly introduces Reese to new experiences 😏
• FF couple • Kyle being Kyle • Rope play • Envelope licking
If you're a little hesitant to read an FF story (like I was), don't worry, Kyle will be there to help ease you in! After all, he's the king of consent and care, and that's why we love him. Well, that and the fact he has very few limits. As with all of the Kyleverse, you can expect strange and unusual spice, sweetness, and Kyle being his loveable self! I really enjoyed this one, and that epilogue cracked me up!
Sweet and fun romance. I enjoyed it. I liked the dream sequences. The relationship felt really special. Only thing is i felt the FF spice could have been more detailed.
