The day is going to hell in a hurry for Paranormal Psychologist Matilda Schmidt, and that's *before* a suicidal Easter bunny shows up for treatment.
When pictures surface of Matilda caught in the middle of a hit man-Cupid sandwich, she lands in the oily grip of a ruthless blackmailer, whose motives are as ugly as his mustache. Now Matilda must betray the trust of someone who cares for her to meet the blackmailer's demands, or she can kiss her reputation, her practice, and even her freedom goodbye. But blackmail is only the beginning when the immortal mystery-client brought to her couch by a seductive demigod causes Matilda to fling caution—along with her panties—to the wind.
Hunted by two jealous goddesses who would gladly use her intestines to lace up their strappy sandals—and with her full-time hit man sometimes lover nowhere to be found—Matilda will have to save herself, or the world will be up River Styx without a paddle.
USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.
Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.
Unhoppy by Cynthia St Aubin The Case Files of Dr Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist series book #3. Paranormal mystery romance with humor. A Depressed Easter bunny with one leg shows up for help from Matilda. He’s tried to off himself eight times. Today. Add in Adonis who no woman can resist, including Matilda , plus a blackmailer with photos of Matilda in a comprising position with Matilda, well, it adds up to a bad day for her. And her fish. Now, Adonis only wants Matilda instead of his wives, which of course, brings the two goddesses into picture and it’s a free-for-all.
Mad cap adventures with laugh out loud antics and unimaginable craziness. A paranormal romance series that defies reality and sadness. I’ll be reading more of these case files soon.
Matilda is at it again. What happens when you cross the Easter Bunny, a hit man, a demigod, a really popular god, a really bad person, a unicorn and a whole lot of mayhem? When her very own demigod shows up with yet another problem from the otherworld, clothes start flying and mayhem ensues. This book didn't disappoint. It's full of laughter and fun and merriment and joy that will lighten any mood. It's a short story that will fill your life full of rainbow jelly beans and sunny days, no matter what the outside weather might be! I can't say too much, but if you are in the mood for a light hearted yet hilarious romp through the world of Dr. Matilda. Warning...rated X! You may want to grab all three books in this series....yeah...it's that good!
"This series needs to go on forever! lol " This is such a funny series. I have had the most fun reading this series. Each book is so entertaining. Matilda and the other characters are just so wonderful. Matilda's life is any thing but boring now :). As she tries to help the Easter bunny and a red hot Adonis who one look at his face and all women want to jump his bones lol. It seems more and more trouble comes her way.In this book you have more suspense but still lots of laughter. Poor Matilda it looks like her life will never be normal again, but this just adds to all the fun of reading this series. Then there is the question who will win Matilda's heart? . Will it be sexy demigod Crixus or super hot hit man Liam?. Both of them want her in their beds so will it be Crixus or Liam or both :). You will just have to keep reading this series to find out I know I will. I can not wait to get #4 Unbearable: The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist. Cynthia is a amazing writer and I do hope she will keep releasing more of this awesome series!
Loved it!! So funny! Liam and Crixus (sigh) are still with us in this book, add in Adonis and an adorable Easter Bunny (even though the poor thing is suicidal) and this makes for a great time!!!
This series simply increases in entertainment. I love Matilda, her men, and the addition of a suicidal bunny and Adonis. I love how she remains a psychologist even in the face of all the paranormal. I can’t wait to see where things continue to go!
Book 3 in The Case Files of Dr Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist This series has kept me smiling. Very entertaining. We still have a Demi God, Hitman, and now the Easter Bunny I can't wait to finish reading the series
Now why did Marvin have to go amd do that?! Was being the Easter Bunny really that bad?! Poor poor Marvin and poor Matilda...what immortal diety did you anger for all of this to suddenly keep happening to you?!
Matilda is off on another adventure. This one involves a blackmailer, the Easter bunny, and Adonis. She also have to deal with two goddesses coming after her. There were times that this book made me laugh out loud. I finished this book and immediately wanted to start the next book.
"Unhoppy" book three of "The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist" by Cynthia St. Aubin was such a great read. When Matilda is seeing a new client, he blackmails her and is holding something over her head that could possibly ruin her and everything she has worked for. Then, while trying to figure out what is happening, the Easter Bunny shows up and is down and depressed. Matilda wants to help him find the joy in life. And if that isn't enough, Crixus shows up with a man with a bag on his head. Matilda doesn't understand why the guy is wearing a bag until he takes it off. Matilda has her work cut out for her in this book. I have been enjoying this series and love how the characters have warmed their way into my heart. The ending had me wanting more and to see what is going to happen next.
This series is fast paced and outlandishly funny. I love the twist on different mythologies and creatures. The world building is great and I love seeing how these old world characters react to a modern world. I also think the audio is well done!
Unhoppy! The third book to this delightful series will leave you just as satisfied as the first two book. In Unlovable, Matilda finds herself having to deal with a grumpy cupid, in Unlucky she is dealing with a paranoid leprechaun, and in Unhoppy she finds herself dealing with a suicidal Easterbunny.
Matilda is a Paranormal Psychologist being blackmailed by a man she calls the Ferret. He has compromising pictures of her in very detailed positions and he is willing to use them to get what he wants So she is face with either betraying the trust of someone who cares for her deeply, to meet the blackmailer's demands, or she can kiss everything goodbye. On top of that, her new client is a suicidal Easter Bunny named Marvin. He has tried everything he can possible think of to end his life but when you are immortal, it really is a waste of time. But thats not all poor Matilda is dealing with, When the seductive demigod brings in an immortal mystery-client to Matilda's couch, she finds herself yet again in a very compromising position, and leaves her hunted by two very jealous goddesses who would love to use her intestines to lace up their sandals, With her full-time hit man lover nowhere to be found,Matilda will have to fend for herself, or the world in gonna be in trouble
Cynthia St. Aubin, brings so much laughter into my life with her books. I have never read a book that I have snorted and spewed pop on my Kindle so much. From the first page of the book you are sucked in, and you are right there along with Matilda for the ride, you will find yourself hanging on to every little word there is. I have loved getting to know this Author and experiencing her sense of humor upclose. If you have not read any books by her, I suggest you get all three. They are so good, you just wont be able to put them down.
In book three of The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist, Matilda is being blackmailed with photos taken in the first book of her with Liam and Cupid. Plus, she is trying to stop a suicidal Easter Bunny from killing himself. Oh and Crixus enlist her help with a new client, Adonis, yes, the Adonis; unfortunately, her involvement with the god of beauty and desire, inadvertently upsets Aphrodite and Persephone, making Matilda the target of their wrath.
Matilda Schmidt’s life just keeps getting more interesting. Cynthia St. Aubin created another hilarious tale. This was my favorite book in the series so far.
I could totally picture cute and cuddly, Marvin J. Cuddlesrein. The suicidal fluffy Easter Bunny was adorable. I love the contrast of his appearance and his truck driver mouth.
I also, really enjoyed how all the men in Matilda’s life are so jealous of each other, to the point of mentally taking each other out.
I like that the series builds upon each other, including material from previous stories (blackmail photos). I also appreciate the length of the books. It makes it easy to read in one sitting; even so, there is so much outrageous stuff that takes place in this short story. Unhoppy had me laughing the entire time. It’s a fun read for people that like modern-day mythology and laughing.

This is the 3rd book the series. They are all fantastic. I love Cynthia’s work so much. In this book Matilda has to help Crixus with Adonis and also help the Easter bunny with some suicidal problems. Oh and her first client of the day also turns out not to be a real client but someone wanting to blackmail her, again. Adonis has decided he doesn’t want to be shared between Aphrodite and Persephone anymore. So Crixus brings him to Matilda. Matilda thinks that she won’t be affect by him the way everyone else is. She was wrong. She can’t get in contact with Liam to ask him for help. If she asks Crixus it will mean another deal with him. Poor Matilda will her life ever go back to the way it was before she was introduced to Liam and Crixus? How will she deal with the 2 goddesses who are looking for her? Will she be able to help the Easter bunny?
I loved this book. They are always funny and exciting. She gets in the weirdest situations. I really want to know who has been setting her up and blackmailing her this whole time. I think she should give Crixus a chance. Yes he is a man whore of epic proportions but he helps and cares about her in his own way. I like Liam too but its not like they could live happily ever after either. He is a hit man after all. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series. Another fantastic book Cynthia.
I was given this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.
This one was a little different than the others as it left me with a BIG cliffie and twist at the end. This case as you can probably tell by the title is about a bunny... BUT not just any old bunny A SUICIDAL Easter BUNNY!!! Poor Marvin.. I feel kinda sorry for him and not only does Matilda have to help keep him from dangerous objects she also meets a few other interesting characters that lead us on an wild and crazy adventure to say the least... Especially after pictures surface of Matilda in compromising circumstances. There was a-lot going on with this case that spawned into more cases. (That's what happens when you work with rabbits.) But it was not so much that you got lost, or confused as it all inter-twined nicely. We do not get to see Liam as much in this one as he is attending to other business :( , but no worries ladies there is PLENTY of Crixus to be devoured. I love Cynthia's imagination and it is great to see someone who thinks outside of the box. Who wants to be NORMAL anyways right? The story moves well and I found it hard to put down. And although the first two in the series had me laughing me arse off, I must say in this one there was a spot that got me teary eyed in a sad way but you will have to check it out to see why...
Simply awesome!! Cynthia St. Aubin never stays the same! The escalation from one book to the next, is amazing! Don't get me wrong, the book is funny (of course!!), but things do get serious! You see the characters evolving (baby steps, in some cases, but they're there!!) and that gives you the hope, that one day you will understand fully why they turned out that way. Once more, I was left craving for more! I know that I will get the next book, the moment it comes out and I will devour it, when my schedule allows me to! I can now say, wholeheartedly, that I will always be Cynthia's fan, cause she is one of the few that write paranormal with great sex scenes, while she has you rolling with laughter! The "humor" shelf did not have such a great addition, for a long time!
Matilda seems to be having a hard time staying out of trouble. If she told people what she was going through, they would think she was as crazy as her mother. Trying to help a suicidal Easter Bunny and keep from being killed by Aphrodite and Persephone, due to their jealousy at Adonis's infatuation with Matilda, is going to be a feat indeed. All the while she is trying to ward off a blackmailer and keep Crixus out of her bedroom. Will he EVER get what he wants from her? Where is Liam when she needs him? I love how I see each character in a new way from the traditional stories of Greek gods/goddesses and fairy tales. Too many times I laughed until I cried. I realized that there is still more to come.
Unhoppy begins when Matilda is forced to find a way to help the Easter Bunny while being blackmailed by some strange man for reasons she doesn't understand. Add in some crazy things from the demigod and the man who took her virginity Liam, you've got a hilarious story time.
This one wasn't as good a the previous books. But it let us get to know a little bit more about Crixus and Liam. However they both seem to be hiding a few things. And of course the ending leaves you frustrated but wanting more. There was even a sad part in this among all of the funny, crazy that was going on. I do hope the next one is better. This series has been very enjoyable so far and I really can't wait to read more.
"...a demigod, a blackmailer, a suicidal Easter bunny, and an irresistible immortal seemed like a good idea." I read this last night and I couldn't put it down. This book had me laughing from the beginning! Matilda, a Paranormal Psychologist, is being blackmailed by The Ferret. He has compromising pictures of her and cupid. If that isn't enough she has a new client. A suicidal Easter Bunny named Marvin. I just can't tell you enough how funny this story is. It had me laughing out loud and in tears it was so funny. I know this is going to be one of my to go stories to read on a down day. I can't wait to read St. Aubin's other books.
Unhoppy will having you laughing out loud and just a friendly note you may find yourself snorting the beverage you may be drinking at the time right out your nose. Matilda s adventures continue and hilarious is putting it mildly! Crixis arrives with Mr just call me Don" bag over his head" add that to a sneaky sniveling blackmailer , the Easter Bunny with issues boy does he have issues....and Liam where is Liam this you'll have to read to find out . Oh yea did I mention a pair of goddesses after our poor Matilda Schmidt . I just love this series can't wait to see what's coming next!!
This book satisfies on every level! I giggled hysterically though most of it and held my breath through the rest. This is the 3rd in the series and did not disappoint, if anything it hopped to higher levels. Just when you think things can't get worse they do and then Cynthia St. Aubin writes her way out of the mess. I don't want to add spoilers, but seriously the Gods will be happy with this book. If you like Janet Evanovich and Mary Janice Davidson you will LOVE Cynthia St. Aubin! Can't wait for Matilda's next zany adventure.
This is book 3 in the series and they just keep getting better and better. I love all the characters and Cynthia St Aubin has a wonderful sense of humor that made me laugh out loud many times, but it also has its series side with plenty of action and intrigue. No book would be complete without some sexual tension and sexy situations and of course this book delivers all that and more. It left off with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to find out what trouble our dear Dr Schmidt will find herself in the next time around. I absolutely love this series.
My good heavens! The Easter Bunny? Oh YES! Poor Matilda just wanted to be a shrink and be boring. Liam and Crixus have a different idea for her about her life. Who knew that the poor bunny was so disturbed? I suppose if anyone can fix him it is Matilda. I had a few good laughs and some red cheeks as well! This book is scorching in places! Yeah, I know not what you normally hear in a paragraph about the Easter bunny! Blackmail, angry goddesses, it's all here! Yet another fun ride into Matilda's world!
Having dealt with a grumpy cupid in the first book, a paranoid leprechaun in the second, this time Matilda is dealing with a suicidal Easter Bunny. Also Adonis is now convinced he is in love with her added to her problem is someone is now black-mailing her.
This book had been in stitches from beginning to end and i ended up read it one sitting as i couldn't out it down.
It made me blow a very refined mist of tea out of my sinuses... My absolute favorite of the series, the rest are great..but I found this one appealed to me best, made me laugh, and cry, and curse...all the feels. :) Wonderfully written, the characters are both relateable and hilarious. Who knew a pinchy faced head doc could be so funny? Apparently Cyn did. :) A definate keeper that will be re-read over and over. <3
This little series is outrageously funny. As the third one, you should read them in order. A crazy visit from Marvin, the Easter Bunny, and Adonis, the lover of Aphrodite and Persephone, takes us on a wild adventure. Our muscled demigod and swearing hit man/babysitter return to profess more love for Matilda. Let's just say I'm jealous of this special doctor. Stay tuned for Unbearable.
Book 3 and I love Cynthia even more! When it's time to be funny, the book has me R.O.F.L.ing, when it's time to be serious I'm constantly thinking "oh my God, oh my God...". She definetely knows how to hang you on the edge of your seat, constantly! Her unique writing style, makes sure no-one gets bored! If you want to laugh while reading a paranormal book, Cynthia's series is your next read!!
OMG!! This series just keeps getting better and better! In this one we meet the Easter Bunny, "Don" (Adonis), Persephone, Cerberus, Wallis,Aphrodite and Barrett. Follow along with Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist as she deals with her now crazy life. Cynthia St. Aubin is an awesome author, these books are a riot. Definitely a must read for everyone!!! So worth the 5 stars!!!
Warning! Do not drink and read this book or you could suffer from the following: Almost dying after you suck tea down your wind pipe because you're laughing uncontrollably at what you just read. Yet, even as you're convinced that in a few more seconds you'll no longer be suffering from personhood, you can't stop silently laughing at said book.
This is a review for Unlovable, Unlucky and Unhoppy. I loved all three of these. These books will have you laughing and unable to put them down. I just could not put these down and finished all three in two hours. I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I did!!
