Border lines blur in a struggle for survival and redemption.

El Paso, 1991: On the edge of the U.S.-Mexico border, a storm is coming. Corruption has fueled the rise of Mexican narcos, who now threaten to dominate the drug trade across Central and South America. As the drug war escalates, the borderlands will never be the same. Two men see the writing on the Buddy Clayton, a cattle ranch foreman with a violent streak, and Ramón Espinoza, a cartel hitman who’s found God but can’t outrun his past. Both are desperate for a way out before the war consumes them and their families. In their way are psychopathic sicarios, corrupt police, and their own wavering sense of morality. Though Buddy and Ramón have never met, their fates are set to collide on a bloody road to redemption.

Keep the Wolves Away is a modern western thriller featuring high-octane action, complex destinies, and unforgivable betrayal.

As a friend of the author, I approached “Keep the Wolves Away” with curiosity, but I can genuinely say the book exceeded my expectations. It’s the first book I’ve read in about a decade, and I was absolutely captivated. The story is gripping, and the vivid imagery brings each scene to life, making it hard to put down. While there are a few minor typos, they in no way detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. I found myself completely immersed, which is a rare accomplishment for me! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an enticing read.

A debut novel written by a friend that holds its own outside of my bias. The pacing is great throughout the journey without overstaying its welcome in each setting. The story challenges its characters’ loyalties with familiar twists in a new style. A compelling read that draws you in quickly to end with a bang.
