Lydia, A Flash Fiction Story by Chuck Grossart I received a free kindle copy of Lydia, A Flash Fiction Story by Chuck Grossart in an Amazon promotion.I gave this very short story five stars, even though I had to use Google Translate. "'Humiliare sub potenti manu dei, contremisce et effuge...' It sounded...Latin? As he neared the railing, Derek saw someone was under the stairs, as he'd suspected.""No!' the man screamed. 'Invocato a nobis sancto et terribili nomine, quem inferi tremunt!'"Derek, the man who attempted to be a hero, was also surprised at the end of this tale.

“Lydia” by Chuck Grossart is a surprising tale of a Good Samaritan who comes to the aid of a small girl held captive by a scruffy looking man holding a knife to her throat. Maybe sometimes it’s best to just mind your own business.

This story is so short... but it doesn't need to be any longer. The ending had me looking over my shoulder! I love stories like that.
