Rate this book
Growing up, Darcy knew that life would be filled with challenges and tough decisions, but none so difficult as the one that would alter her future forever. Given the choice between losing Mason or becoming a vampire, Darcy risks the overwhelming threat of insanity, and places her destiny, her hopes and dreams, in the hands of Devlin. When she survives the conversion and shows how truly strong she is, everyone thinks that the worst is behind them. It’s time to get back to normal - or their new normal - and live happily ever after.

But danger still lurks within the shadows - both in Woodside Hollow, the supernatural community, and within Darcy. Even though she looks fine, she seems “altered” to those closest to her, something beyond the expected consequences of her dual nature. With reports of dark rituals and blood sacrifices being performed, the Council has their hands filled trying to solve that mystery, leaving Mason scrambling to find out what’s wrong with his mate.

Will the imbalance warring within Darcy eventually settle, or will her decision to become part vampire-part werewolf lead to a SAVAGE POSSESSION?

Favorite Lines "Trust. In the end, that’s what it always boils down to. Or was it love? Even in my short life, I’d learned that power comes from having the kind of soul connection that makes anything possible—a relationship that robs you of both breath and the ability to think, that feeling that makes everything worth it—the good, the bad, and the very, very stupid."

“I feel like my heart stopped beating the second hers did.”

“It leaves no room for mistakes . . . for failure.”

"So many people get caught up in the supernatural gifts that come from being a werewolf or vampire that they overlook the balancing affect their humanity brings to the table. It helps govern your choices and is a moral compass. It softens the wrathfulness and savagery of the others. Don’t ever doubt it, Darcy. That is where your true strength lies.”

"I’d told him that when he found the right one—the girl he couldn’t breathe without— that he would understand and become a fool over her. How could giving your heart ever be considered foolish? It was natural, something you didn’t have to think about. You loved; therefore you simply did everything in your power to keep a smile on her face."

“As each second passed with brutal clarity, one thing became more and more certain. Not only was I in danger, but so was my beloved Mason. So were all those I held dear.”

This author sure knows how to blow your mind out of the water! Going into this book I knew it would be amazing! What I didn't count on was the punch to the gut I felt while reading it. I started this on my way to an appointment, I took the city bus and by the end of chapter one I was crying so much people on the bus were looking at me and one woman asked me if I was ok. I couldn't even respond! I was robbed of breath and thought, our boy Mason is the one of the most amazing characters I have ever read. He loves her so much! Watching Darcy go through this life altering change! Whew it was intense! Belinda Boring brought us into this story so easily! She has a way with weaving her word in a way not many authors can accomplish but, she does it effortlessly!
By the last couple pages my mouth was on the floor and by the last flip of the page. I closed my iPad sat it on my lap and whispered HOLY CRAP..... I did this for about 3 minutes then just sat there unblinking, not breathing by the time I couldn't stand the lack of breath I jumped up and..... Well I said a few choice words and was SO MAD!!!!
AMAZING, EPIC, SPECTACULAR, THREW ME THRU A LOOP this are the words to describe this amazing book!
I recommend this to EVERYONE!!!

I was given this book by author in exchange for an honest review

Belinda Boring IS The Queen Of Swoon! This is book 5 in The Mystic Wolves series and what a freaking book it was! When asked if I could read and review before the release date of 5/18, that answer was a resounding YES! (Ok, I admit, I let a squeeee out and did a happy dance!)
I am SO not sorry I did, I've been waiting for this!
Mason and Darcy are hoping to be able to live their lives as newlyweds, happy and in bed! Wait..did you think that was GOING to happen? This is Belinda Boring we are talking about here people!
While there are certainly happy moments in this book, on more than once I sat with my mouth hanging open thinking "Good grief this can't be happening!" I cried big real tears reading parts of this. I was so proud of my self because I knew who the instigator was in this book, HAHA, I was so wrong.
Everyone else that you have come to love in this series is here, Devlin, Daniel, Vivien, Helena, Zane and for a few pages Vlad. The writing is smooth and everything just flows where it should. I actually "hear" their voices in my head when I am reading these books. Vivid description of people, places and events, you get a real visual when you read these. And while you wouldn't HAVE to read the first four books, I would recommend it so you have a clear backstory on what is happening in this book.
There should be an award for best cliffhangers too, just sayin'! Am I sad this book ended, heck yes. That just gives me even more to look forward too with book 6.
Congrats on another job well done Belinda, and expect my therapy bill in the mail!

I have just finished reading this book. Though I had a friend (at least I thought she was) warn me about a little of what would happen she did leave a very important part out. And it KILLED me.. WRECKED me... Had me freaking out just to read more and thinking OHH NO SHE DIDN'T.

I love Belinda's books and this one is no different. This book will keep you on your toes from the get go. You will not be able to put it down. I started to cry in chapter one. Freaking cry. You will experience every emotion you can think of while reading this. Then you will get to this part where you will feel like you died... And then you will get to the end where you'll be mad (because it ended to soon ;) ).

I just can't even say what all is going through me right now without giving to much away. My heart is still racing. I love Mason and Darcy but I ADORE Daniel. This book is an amazing addition to the series and a must read..

This is the 5th book in the Mystic Wolves series and each one just gets better. I believe I gave Belinda the title of Queen of Torture after reading Forever Changed. Now I have a few new ones: Queen of Twists, Queen of Frustration and Queen of Profanity! Oh wait, that might be me. I'm sure I used more then a few choice words while I was reading it. Never have I wanted a coupe to get their HEA then I do Mason and Darcy, but with a twisted mind like Belinda.....who know's what will happen next. If you've not read this series yet.,I highly suggest you do. You'll love it!

I have been a Mystic Wolves fan from the very beginning. I very patiently wait for each book to come out, devour it then sit back and wait for the next book. I don't think I will be doing any calm waiting this time around. Holy cheesy cracker! Author Belinda Boring hit this one out of the park.

No spoilers, no spoilers, I keep telling myself as I write this review no spoilers. So let's see what I can say without ruining it for anyone. For starters, all previous book in this series have nothing on this one. Each book has a light fluffy romantic side. Savage Possession has a romantic side as well but it also has a slightly darker edge to it as Darcy learns to struggle with her new vampire side. As an added bonus, Ms. Boring has provided alternating first-person POVs from Darcy and Mason. Can I just say, how much I enjoyed that. To finally be inside Mason's head...yeah. that totally rocked. As the story progresses through all its twists and turns, the excitement keeps building. And then...and then...OMG!

The cliffhanger.

We, who read Ms. Boring's books, all know she is the queen of swoon. However, I think a new title needs to be issued. Goddess of Cliffhangers because frankly I don't know how I'm going to survive this one. Didn't see it coming, and no clue where it's going to go, don't know how I'm going to be able to wait for the next book! The suspense is going to kill me and I'm loving every minute of it. Great job Ms. Boring! As for you the reader, I have three words.

READ. THIS. BOOK.

I was provided a copy of the book by the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review in any way and the opinions of this review are all mine.

Absolutly blew my mind!

I have read all of Belinda's books and have been in love with the Mystic Falls series since I started reading again 2 years ago. This by far has got to be the best book in the series which I didn't think that you could top Forever Changed. If you are familiar with my reviews I don't give away spoilers, if you are curious what happened then pick up the book and read it. If you have not started the series yet, what are you doing here?! Go pick up book one and get caught up, you will not regret reading this series.

In the first 4 books we have watched Mason and Darcy go through one deadly situation after another and to not fight for love wasn't an option. In this book their bond and love will really be put to the test, will they make it..... who knows! We watch Darcy as she struggles with her new dual predator natures that she must learn to control. Mason is beside himself trying to figure out what he can do to help his mate even though something isn't right. There is once again a new threat to the citizens of their city and this threat even has Devlin worried.

Once again Belinda has made us fall in love with her characters! Mason and Darcy's swoon worthy love will keep us on our toes and have us day dreaming for that kind of love. It is truly amazing that no matter how many books I have read by Belinda, her ability to make my heart go crazy has not failed! If you are looking for a book of true love through everything, then this is the series and the book for you! But beware the cliffhangers, they are deadly.

Hope you enjoy the book, Read on and keep dreaming! :)

Heart breaking… That’s how this book starts out. I was tearing up in the first chapter. There is so much raw emotion in this book coming from Mason, Darcy, and Devlin that you can’t help but feel exactly what they are feeling; down to the heart-wrenching pain and the sky-soaring happiness. The way that Mason, and Devlin, feel about Darcy in shown more in this book, I think, then is in the past ones. You really understand how they feel about her and how much they care. About halfway through I was so happy, everything was perfect and working out, but you know how that goes. Something went wrong. There were hints at first; Building the pressure. And then… my thoughts ‘I hate you Belinda… Please let this not be real… I really can’t have that happen’. I stopped reading at this point. I had to process.
Mason. Mason is what every girl wants in a man; “I wasn’t lying when I said I’d wait forever for her”.
And then there’s the ending. Can you say mega cliff-hanger? Now it’s a waiting game. To see what will happen to everyone in this fantastic series. Just one more chapter that’s all I wanted… but no, the book was over.
You will love this book, at times it will break your heart, and it will mend your heart. You will love, cry, and hate with the rest of us. Suspense, shock, and intense emotions that you aren’t sure exactly what they are will encompass you; but it’s completely worth it. So read this book, you won’t regret it.

OMG, this book was fantastic, Belinda has done it again! Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. This is the fifth book in the Mystic Wolves series, and it can be read as a standalone, HOWEVER, I would defiantly recommend that you read the series in order so that you can understand the whole story of the characters. This book is about Darcy, she has made the decision about being turned as a vampire. In order to survive, she needs to make it through the conversion and learn how to control her new powers. However, her husband, family and friends realize that something just doesn't seem right with Darcy. This book is full of ups and downs, and will have you smiling and then have you wanting to throw the book across the room. I CANNOT believe what happened in the book, and Belinda is just evil to leave us hanging like this! I sure hope Belinda writes fast, because I cannot wait until the next book!!

Darcy O’Connor agreed to being transformed into a vampire in order to avoid insanity. Now a werewolf-vampire hybrid she needs to adjust to the changes. However, something does not seem right with Darcy and Mason will do everything in his power to help his mate.

Darcy and Mason are such a wonderful couple. The poor newlyweds can’t catch a break. They have endured so much together. I love that the story is told from both their points of view. I find it fascinating to know what they are both thinking.

I love that Darcy and Mason have such a wonderful support system in some seriously powerful people. Belinda Boring does such a great job with her characters.

The plot is really interesting with lots of stuff going on. Savage Possession had an unexpected ending that left me salivating for book six in the series, Darkness Unleashed. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

I was asked if I could read this book and do a review by May 18th - and my answer back to the author was "OF COURSE I CAN".

So I started the book yesterday morning, and (as with a lot of Belinda Boring's books)I found it hard to stop reading. Needless to say, I finished the book last night.

I just love love love Belinda's books and especially the Mystic Wolves series. The series in itself keeps you on your toes - but this book was a little different from the others. So many different things are happening and it really makes you wonder how she was able to think some of this stuff up!!! I don't write spoilers but I will say that what Darcy and Mason go through in this book is NOT at all what I expected!!!

My only complaint is this - - Belinda, how DARE you leave us hanging like that at then end!!! That was NOT nice at all!!!

After having been up and down on Belinda's never ending emotional roller coasters in this series, the queen has thrown me for yet another loop. This segment picks right up where the last left off. I was left a little sullen after book four wondering if Belinda was going to be able to draw me back in and she definitely succeeded. Mason is still sexy though there were times where I just wanted him to man up and stop being a simpering shell of a wolf. I fell harder for Daniel in this book with his amazing pearls of wisdom. I knew a bombshell was coming but it was not what I was anticipating it was going to be. I do think that this might be the best book in the series, watching Darcy go through her transition as well as watching Devlin and his antics. I do want more Devlin- I need to see his dominant side in love. I am also excited for more Daniel. I rate this one 5 suspenseful fangs.

OMG! The Queen of Swoon has done it again!!! I have loved this story from the first book and each one draws me in more and more. Darcy is in the conversion from wolf to part wolf and part vamp. Devlin and Mason has been by her side since the start and won't leave till she is ok. Once all is said and done Darcy feels great expect for a headache but that can easly fixed with the help of a witch. Mason is happy to have his wife back but is noticing some changes. Is Darcy having a bigger problem than she is wanting to say?. Will Mason and Devlin be able to figure it out the problem before it's to late or will they lose the Darcy everyone loves? I have laughed and cried through out this book. I can't get enough of the Mystic Wolves!!!

I hadn't read the previous books in the series so it took me a little bit to catch up. Thanks Belinda for the flashbacks etc. I actually enjoyed the book. Darcy had witch, wolf, and human in her. To save her life she had to be turned into a vampire to replace the witch part stolen from her in previous book. Her mate Mason is the Alpha wolf in their pack. Darcy recovers from being turned into a vampire but they have to watch her for insanity as it has not been done successfully before. She does seem to have a few episodes where she doesn't act like herself but I so didn't see that coming! Now the last few pages blew me away and now I can't wait on next book to see what happens! http://harpsromancebookreview.com

Holy shizzzzz! This plot is so twisted, I did not see that coming!!! Fans of The Mystic Wolves are really gonna love this one. Trust me...you will be begging for more! Just when you think everything is going as planned, fate throws in a twist that only Belinda Boring could come up with. Mason and Darcy have faced so much in their time together that I thought they were finally going to get a much deserved rest, but as readers will find out it's hard to get rid of a bad penny when it keeps turning up. Loved, LOVED this addition to The Mystic Wolves Series and am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next!

For Mason, having his wife changed into a vampire wasn't a choice, but a matter of her survival. The problem comes after the transformation. They expected an adjustment due to her thirst and new powers, not the complete personality change. There is more going on than Mason can imagine. On top of the personal issues he has to deal with, he is still the Alpha, and someone into hardcore dark magic is reaking havok in his neck of the woods. Can Mason figure out what's going on, and if he does, will he be able to deal with it? This book was a hella ferocious roller coaster ride, the kind that sends you flying off the tracks at the end. Absolute must read.

*** I was giving a complimentary copy from the author*****

I can't even begin to explain how unexpected this book in The Mystic Wolves Series, is. It was by far the best in my opinion, in the series, I mean all that Mason and Darcy have had to endure through out, their journey to be together then, BAM!!! Belinda throw's in a twist, and a curve ball everything changes, the challenges get harder, the drama deepens, I mean it was nail biting, toe curling, OMG what's going to happen next kinda story!!! One of my most enjoyed reads in 2014,, I just wonder what is going to happen next, I can't wait!!!!

Wow. I was completely SHOCKED after just finishing this book. I never expected to see this coming. Talk about one hell of a roller coaster ride. There were twist and turns through out this whole book that you would never expect to see happen. Some parts in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn't even want to put it down and the end was just like omg did that really just happen.
Belinda did a wonderful job with this book and I will say I think it is my fav of the mystic wolf books so far. I am so wanting the next book. This one had one hell of a cliff hanger.

OMG! I don't even know where to begin.... Belinda's books are amazing, but she outdid herself this time!

I had many different plot scenarios and endings going through my head while reading, but NEVER did I see that ending coming!

This book is truly an emotional roller coaster! At one point, my car derailed... It was ugly..., I won't lie.

I cannot wait for more!

I really like this series but it is has become routine for me. The characters are still wonderful and I really like them and how they are portrayed but it is just so predictable. The main couple are going to have to fight very hard, once again, to be able to stay together because some outside force is trying to keep them apart. This has been the theme since the first book and while it was great the first 3 books it is starting to wear a bit thin at this point for me. They need to be dealing with something else or let someone else in the pack have a romantic issue.

Darcy knew growing up that her life would not be an easy one and that she would face challenges and hard decisions. When she is faced with death it is almost a no brainer that she will do anything to be able to stay with her love, Mason. When Zane suggests her taking on vampire nature to take the place of her witch nature she does it without thinking of the ramifications. But when survives the conversion everyone is elated but there seems to be something different about Darcy and it is something dark.

I already own the next book in the series and am not sure if I even want to read it right now. I already know what is going to happen since we already had a showdown with this same villian once before. Do I really need to waste time? Like I said I do like the series but things need to move forward and they always seem to be in the same place.

Paranormal romance. I read the previous book in this series nine years ago, and I have absolutely no memory of it.
Here, a female werewolf becomes a vampire, the reasons having been explained in the last book.
I rapidly skimmed to the end, unsuccessfully trying to find something interesting.
Typos that jumped out at me: misplaced punctuation, apostrophe S plural, "captives" (prisoners) used for captors (jailers).

Mason and Darcy just can't seem to catch a break. In this latest installment, and yep, I'm calling it that given the next book is out and that is apparently STILL not the end, Darcy has managed to survive the conversion to part vampire, but with complications. It was touch and go for awhile. Mason wasn't sure if she survived, she wasn't sure if she wanted to survive, and the worst part, her connection to Mason was severed in the last book and was not restored once she became lucid again.

Upon awakening, Darcy must learn to control her new vampire instincts and need for blood before Devlin will allow her to be anywhere near Mason, the pack, or the general populace at that. And just when things look better, a series of incidents has Mason, her mom, and Devlin questioning whether Darcy has actually made it through the conversion unscathed. Little things that would never upset her now sets her off, her inability to shift into her wolf, her mouthing off, and disappearing act. Things get more complicated when Devlin seeks Mason help looking into a series of break-ins, murders, and the theft of a rare artifact.

One of the things I loved about this series is that Mason and Darcy were already a couple and completely dedicated to each other. The heart break of having to fight to stay together through any means possible meant that Darcy really didn't have a choice in going through the conversion. And throughout, I loved how connected they were to each other. This book challenges all of that. Very well written, it moves you along through the story hoping that Darcy pulls through, but knowing there is NO WAY the author is going to allow that to happen without something going wrong. I have to admit that I did figure out what was going about midway through the book, but there were definitely hints throughout. What did slay me was the dream. Wow, it was so realistic that I nearly fell out of my chair thinking no way in HELL! And for those that read the book, you know exactly what scene I'm talking about. That was the most eerie / chilling part of the book. And well damn, she did it again. If you are not a fan of cliffhangers, well, hold on to your shorts folks cause "alls well that ends well" is just NOT what happened here.

So yep, I gotta say that this was a good book. What would have made it better? Incorporating book 6 into this one so I didn't have to read another book. It's no secret I'm not a huge fan of serials (i.e., any series that contains more than 3 books is considered a serial to me even if technically, this one is longer than a typical novella), especially ones that always end in cliffhangers. I like my HEAs or at a minimum, some closure. ;)

My Review~~~
Like all this authors covers this one is just as amazing as the rest. This author loves to torture me with the cliffhangers. My emotions through this book are awesome, ahh how adorable, WHAT???, WHAT NO!!!!!, and just being distraught in general! The author's writing gets better with each passing book. This author has become one of my favorite because the connection between the reader and the characters are so deep that you feel their emotions. I love that. I love that we see a deeper love with Devlin and Mason regarding Darcy. Daniel is even better in this book. I love the serious side that finds its way out off and on. I may not survive through the next book if the author doesn't take it easy on me. LOL. Trying not to spoil the book....but WOW still in an emotional uproar regarding this that it's difficult still to string words together. Deeper characters, amazing writing, and epic series...what's not to love and adore! Will Darcy and Masion survive this next set of challenges?

Amazon Book Description~~
Growing up, Darcy knew that life would be filled with challenges and tough decisions, but none so difficult as the one that would alter her future forever. Given the choice between losing Mason or becoming a vampire, Darcy risks the overwhelming threat of insanity, and places her destiny, her hopes and dreams, in the hands of Devlin. When she survives the conversion and shows how truly strong she is, everyone thinks that the worst is behind them. It’s time to get back to normal—or their new normal—and live happily ever after.

But danger still lurks within the shadows—both in Woodside Hollow, the supernatural community, and within Darcy.

Belinda never seems to disappoint, with her words and characters. Savage Possession was just another one of her books that left me wanting more.
Mason and Darcy have been through so much in the Series so far....Witches, Rogue Werewolves, Seriously jealous ex's, and yet they always come through on top and better than ever. Stronger even. Heck, they were put through the ultimate test when the fates intervened and made them prove their love for each other. And yet they came through that too.

In Savage Possession, they once again have to get through another deep test. Darcy melds sides. Turning herself into a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid. She forms a brand new her in order to keep who she is and stay with her love. She makes it through the conversion. but what would happen if something was to go wrong? What would happen if Darcy changed? What would happen if she was no longer able to call or touch her Wolf? When Darcy starts to act different Mason isn't the only one who notices, but is there more to it? or is it just a reaction to the conversion? Well you need to read the book to find out for sure, but let me tell you.....This book had me on yet another chair edge and biting my nails. Mason is such a strong male, always there for his mate and this book was no different. Through everything Mason was the one with the ability to hold strong and never let anything waiver him. He never let anything pull him down or come between him and his mate.

I don't want to say too much, but believe me when I say you have to get this book, Hell, get the whole damn series and start from the beginning. You will NOT regret it.

A tale of supernatural chess as someone or something is set to destroy Mason and Darcy and the clan around them. This is the fifth book in series and at the end of the previous book, Darcy is nearly torn from Mason, with only one way to save her: for Darcy to become a vampire. The conversion is all the more tricky because both Mason and Darcy are wolves. Darcy must balance the wolf within as well as her new vampire traits. But with everything not as it seems and Darcy's actions becoming more and more erratic, there are lots of questions to be answered.

Darcy and Mason have had not had the ideal start to married life as they struggle to find their way through Darcy's changes and settle into married life. Mason being the Alpha of the wolf pack and being pulled away to help investigate an unprecedented crime rate in the supernatural world, puts even more strain on the fledgling marriage. The difficultly being for them is who can they trust and what is the end game? As suspicions grow and the magic world sinks deeper into crime against supernatural creature, who will survive?

The combination of great characters, both good, bad and the in between, a great story and excellent writing pulls into the story and keeps you gripped to the edge of your seat as you try and work out where the story is going to take you next. Each time you think you have worked it out, bang a curve ball gets thrown and takes you down an unexpected path. The thrills and spills of this book keep you wanting more. It doesn't stay still long enough for you to want to put it down.

Ok what the freaking hell...
That's all I got.
Man this book was good. I couldn't wait to find out Darcy survived. I knew she had to because how do you not when she is the main character. I enjoyed getting Mason's side as well as Darcy's or who we thought was Darcy.
I can't do this review without spoiling it because lets be honest we all thought Amber was gone. Belinda are you trying to kill us?
I was even fooled I thought that she was just having problems adjusting but now I know Darcy is trying to get out and not let Amber take over her body. I wished Mason had locked her up and kept her that way for a long time. And why is it that Helena has not caught on? Now I feel like Helena is the one helping Amber which doesn't make sense. All I know is that they better catch on especially with how she was acting in the end with Mason. I mean come on Mason she practically told you she isn't Darcy. Not only that but the way she is acting, you should know it is Amber.
I hope that they can get through this. I hope Mason locks her up until he gets it that she isn't fine and it isn't his Darcy.
There were a couple scares, what with Mason's dream all I could think while reading is this is a dream it has to be there is no way Belinda would kill all those characters off. And of course I was right. He was getting a vision into knowing that she isn't Darcy. He needs to listen better and I think he finally was near the end. I hope it is not too late.

Just when I think Darcy and Mason are out of the woods and will be free to love each other without consequence, Belinda Boring pulls a stunt like this book and again my faith is tested. I have got to say, she sure knows how to keep her readers on their toes and wanting.

In this installment of the Mystic Wolves series, Darcy is fighting for a balance between her new-found vampiric nature and her long-had werewolf nature. She survived the transformation to vampire and is learning to adjust to the traits that brings. She seems to be making much progress; a lot more progress than anyone could have possibly hoped for. But things rarely stay safe and secure with this lot.

Serious problems will test the tenuous hold that the Mystic Wolves have on their sanity, along with their unity. The strongest of bonds will be pushed to their breaking points and with Boring's heart-stopping cliffhanger, those bonds may just meet their end, along with the hold that Darcy has on herself.

This most recent edition to the Mystic Wolves series has shaken me to my core and I truly fear for Darcy and her uncertain future. I've very much invested myself in this series and will not be satisfied until I know that the Pack and everyone that that entails is safe and have their well-fought-for and hard-earned HEA.

I have to say that Belinda isn’t one of my favourite authors as I don’t like her style of writing but I was interested in seeing where the story went. There was a heart stopping moment when Mason discovers a gruesome scene and there’s a surprising re-appearance of a character we thought was long gone.

In order to survive her battle with Julian, Darcy becomes a vampire which is not without its own difficulties. Many do not survive the conversion and of those that do, many go insane. After the conversion and under the watchful eye of everyone around her, Darcy starts displaying subtle differences and causes concern to Mason and her mother. Unfortunately Mason decides to stick his head in the sand and continuously calls for her to be given more time to adapt to the conversion despite the reservations of others. This book follows Darcy’s struggle to control her vampire tendencies and there is also an emerging threat to the council after there is a break in at the council building.

I found the pace quite slow at times and there was also a few repetitions of explanations which led me to gloss over parts of the book. I haven’t experienced this in the other books so it might be just me but it wasn’t bad enough for me to avoid the next book in the series.
