Someone is killing Mayflower descendants and it has Boston homicide stumped. Frustrated and exhausted as the bodies continue to pile up, Jane is forced to question everything she believed about herself when her best friend comes out of the closet. Jane's personal and professional journey takes her from the grittiest neighborhoods of Boston to the affluent summer communities on Martha's Vineyard to a womyn's commune in Oregon as she searches for a brutal killer and finds love and self-acceptance along the way.
Maura and Jane are the main characters in this tale of romance and murder. It will bring you to tears then to laughter whilst dealing also with murder, mayhem, sex and angst. Subsidiary characters, among them Maura's mother Constance and father Terrence, flesh out the whole story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was disappointed that the author hasn't written anything else. Please do Ms. Grogan - I look forward in anticipation!
I'm not familiar with the TV series Rizzoli &Isles, so I can't judge the characters by that. The start is a bit rocky but the book finds its pace quickly. The mystery is okay, the characters are consistent and comprehensible.
