I have to take a moment and say that this is my favorite book of the series so far. Thing tent to be a bit unrealistic here but is this case it serves the story very well. It was the book I felt the most connected to the protagonist. Maybe it is because I sing to and I could see myself wanting to be in her place, but still. In this book most of our characters' problems come to the surface, it's when things get serious and they realize that life isn't easy at all. Okay I had some pretty serious problems with Max posting pictures of her on the internet, and copyrighting her song, without her permission - and this was encouraged!!!!
Plus, cut Eve some slack. She cheated, yes that's mean, but then they sort of don't let herself make up for it by just assuming she will be extra spiteful with every move she makes.
Rhi herself is just so self-centered. She assumes everything is about her, is going to affect her, and is going to ruin her somehow. Let me repeat for best measures: RHI IS ARROGANT AND SELF-ABSORBED.
Plus I know this is made to be all teenagey, but she is far more focused on Max than her career. Her CAREER! I mean, I cut her some slack because her sister died and her parents are grieving and her mom is stressed and stuff and her dad is mellowing, but still.

I thought before I even started this that it might be a bit too young and cliché for me. I read children's classics all the time, and I do like some YA, but I feel as though this is quite young, cliché YA, which at my point in life now I'm just tired of tbh. If I was a few years younger, maybe I'd have gotten more out of this, and no I didn't hate it. I did like how it represented the music industry with negatives not just positives (the phonies and those trying to morph you into something else) and it was a quick easy read. However, I found the characters and plot/subplots a bit petty at times. Would recommend for younger teens as a light-hearted contemporary read, with its faults (like most books) but none that are overly problematic.
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but still found it very understandable. Reading a high school romance was a bit of a stretch, but I feel like some of my more mature readers would enjoy this. I appreciated it addressing several serious issues students face today. Cute - quick read.
2.5 Stars. It was a good read, I don't regret reading it either. It reminded of You Don't Know Me when I read the blurb but this was very different. I hated the ending. It was terrible. It spoiled the book for me! You can't end it like that!! I'll probably read the next one.
Rating 2.5 This is an interesting enough series, but it doesn't really do anything new or different. I found Rhi's story to be interesting, but the whole Max plot just bugged me... I'm enjoying how each book continues the general storyline, but a lot of the time I kind of just wish I could get Lila's sorry ask in one go, and then Polly or Rhi's all at another time... These books are fine but really nothing special.
Pretty standard book with a very basic plot. The characters don't come alive so there is little emotional connection to any of the events. The writing was simple and straightforward. Overall, an easy read with little depth.
I liked that this was easy to read but it was so shallow and lacked depth and meaning to it. it read the same way i imagine shows on the disney channel would read nowadays. plastic and flat with no real emotion behind them but acts like it should have all the pretty sentiments you would expect.
This is a great book for girls, a girl name Rhi she and her boyfriend max broke up and she was really depressed . She secretly can sing and her singing put her in the spotlight. Then max started to like Rhi and her singing career takes her to the spotlight but things still don't go well for her.
This is the book that I read and the story was about this girl Rhi who had a really difficult life . That she is planning to get things together , and win back her ex boyfriend . This is book is good I recommend this book to the ones who likes romance or typa relationship story .
I’m enjoying this series, I only started reading it to see the age suitability for recommendation in my school library. Some of the storyline is unrealistic, however, many issues that teenagers can be hit with from, boyfriends, parent struggles and bitchy friends are covered. I certainly ended up disliking Max and think there is more to come from him. I’m sure there will be more about Eve in book 4. I was a bit disappointed at the ending, it seem to wrap up a bit quickly.
