I REALLY wanted to love this book but it missed its mark for me. I’ll be the first to admit that I can’t stand when characters continuously make ridiculous decisions or react unrealistically to certain events so this book just didn’t mesh well with me.

Maybe the next book will change my perspective, here’s hoping!

4.5 ⭐️ What happens when you fall in love with your stalker? This is a story about love, loss, and starting over. It follows a woman who’s been through something really hard, and now she’s trying to figure out how to move forward. She decides to stay in a cabin in Alaska for three months to try and center herself but her shadow is right behind her.

I did guess one of the twists really early on (page 10) but that didn’t ruin the book for me. I was actually still shocked because I couldn’t believe my wild prediction was correct. I had no idea where the story would go after that, and I liked being surprised by how it all played out.

This was a quick read. While it started off good, once Sadie got to Alaska, everything was so sped up it made it unbelievable. I wish her grief was a little more dragged out and Mateo’s stalking was a little more dragged out as well. It would have been interesting to see if he had told her everything first and kept her in the cabin if she could have fallen for him, instead of the other way around. Though I understand the set up to give way to the next installment of the story. May read it just to see how Sadie handled him, but not dying to do so at this time.

I enjoyed this book, it was quite good. My only ‘complaint’ would be that I felt like Sadie went from scared of Mateo to in love with him so quickly, before learning much about him. But I loved how aggressive and unhinged he was, it was great. And that little twist at the end, definitely not what I thought was coming, although I noticed the end coming up pretty quickly so I knew somethingggg had to happen. I can’t wait to read the next one!

I really wanted to love this book but I really just don't think it was for me. It all felt a bit rushed, at some points we had him in one position and then the next minute he was in another position without any indication that he had changed. It was strange how quickly the main character fell and then that ending just didn't sit right with me.

At the risk of sounding completely unhinged, Mateo is not the good kind of stalker. If you get it, you get it. This was a super quick read but FMC Sadie has ZERO survival skills and certain things just felt really abrupt and out of character for both parties. The feelings were too fast for me to believe and it felt a bit rushed.

Really loved this book! It’s a really quick read with a perfect amount of spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️/5), mystery, and heartbreak. A must-read, dark stalker-romance. Can’t wait to see if the story continues with a sequel!

I loved this book. Definitely read and understand the trigger warnings.

I got to let my inner chaos gremlin out, and she LOVED it. It ended on a cliffhanger with a twist I only slightly suspected. The end chapter had my little gremlin self cackling with delight! I can't wait for the second book!

interesting

I don’t think I’ve ever read a stalker romance- and I read a variety of books! I found this to be very interesting and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Does he have more secrets? Does she?

Book is very short. I felt more could have been done to the writing in this. I rolled my eyes at times reading this. Classic stalker romance. I didn’t feel there was a lot of character to the FMC. The author did leave you with a cliffhanger and wanting to read the next book.

it felt like this book was just putting a bunch of events together in weird ways just to make stuff happen, and then put the most awkward spicy scenes in there with a pinch of attempted character development. this was just.... bad :(

There was zero story line.
It was rushed.
Sadie has zero survival instincts.

No part of this book made any sense. MMC was literally a really bad stalker, and the FMC was just extremely naive. So poorly written, not even the smut was good.

As far as fast paced stalker romances go, this was the most.. emotional? definitely left me wanting to know what happens next and more of Mateo’s tattooed fingers. They’re delightfully delusional.

Mateo and Sadie. First off, Mateo is absolutely unhinged, let’s go ahead and establish this. 😂

This was a very face paced dark stalker romance with a big twist at the end that you ✨MIGHT✨ have suspected. It completely blindsided me and left me wanting more at the end.

It could have been a little longer for relationship development between Sadie and Mateo, and because it felt a little rushed is why I gave it only 4⭐️. I would have liked more development from Sadie, because we already knew Mateo was all in.

I loved the spice. Nicely written and Mateo was all consuming. For spice alone I gave it 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 peppers.

Overall this was a delectable quick dark romance read. PLEASE, check your trigger warnings. This does end on a cliffhanger.
