I thought I was broken before.
That was a lie.
I never truly knew what it meant to be shattered into pieces. Jaded shards that pierce the skin with each move to put them together again.
I searched for the truth in the lies until my skin was burnt and blistered from the flames.
Being a Kingston is what got me here but becoming a Stone is what’s keeping me.
If he thinks he can take that away from me he’s wrong. I may be torn apart and splattered with blood, but I’m every bit the fighter I was built to be. If only I’d known the biggest war I’d have to battle was the one within myself.
I’ve clawed my way back from hell to stand by his side and this time I won’t be moved so easily.
Ryker Stone may be King of Del Mar but I’ve made my home inside his head. The Princess who rose from the ashes.
If he wants me back in his little box he’ll have to sharpen the knife at my throat because I’m not walking away this time.

Read the T.W carefully, burning truths is darker than scorching lies.

C.M. Nyx, you’re the worst 😆!

I finished this book in less than 24 hours, yes, I’m lacking sleep, but it was totally worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and reeling from the ending, angry that I can’t get onto the next book and frustrated with the cliffhanger.

The first few chapters were a hard and challenging read as it was much much darker than the first book. Kenna’s development, growth was gut-wrenching, but I can’t wait for her to show more of what she can do and who she is. I have also enjoyed insights into the other main characters and loved the dynamics between the Stone boys (inc G) and Kenna but also Oakley, hoping to see more of her!

Book 1 was a nice little teaser, book 2 was a delicious main course, and now am waiting for the fireworks!

As one of the other reviews stated this book is darker than Scorching Lies! The first part of the book was hard to read, naturally the torture of a person fictional or no is hard to digest. To watch as Kenna is broken was hard but it was equally hard to read the pain that the brothers endured. with each chapter the book takes you deeper and deeper into Del Mar and its bosses.

There were parts I was yelling, sobbing, and clapping for joy in my head. I love the diving into other characters growth that we see. G, Oakley, West and his new boo lol. The wow for me is who I thought was gone IS NOT! Yay!

I love how this story is unfolding and while I despise cliff hangers I'm fine hanging on this cliff for Kenna and the guys.

HOLY HADES! I don't even know where to start or how to start writing! I'm completely speechless! This author has brought ANOTHER fantastic read and Del Mar and the characters within this world will never be the same. Kenna, Cole, West, Ryker and G have such a horrible, tumultuous time and it makes you wonder if they'll come back from it.

“I’ll look for you in the lilies.”

Kenna has been put through complete hades and back and trying to find her footing again takes everything she has.

"Now the lilies are tainted with all the scorching lies that have consumed us."

It's completely gutwrenching and unimaginable the things they've already been through. But once she's back with her guys is when h*^* really breaks loose and apparently this is only the beginning.

"Flames and smoke. Fire and Ice. We collide."

Burning Truths ends on a cliffhanger AGAIN and is much darker than Scorching Lies so make sure you check the trigger warnings before you start reading this one.

This book was SOOOO much better than the first for me. I am a reader who enjoys the darker aspects in books, and the first kind of lacked for me and took quite a few days to get through. There were a lot of mistakes and I felt like I kept reading the same thing over and over- Kenna hooks up, they’re mean to each other, lather, rinse, repeat. I’m glad I didn’t give up and continued to read the second. So much more action and excitement in this one!

The breaking of Kenna, how she fights back until she can’t- that was an emotional rollercoaster. How the men never gave up, but she was convinced into believing they did. Poor girl. She annoyed me in the first book but had so much character growth and redemption in the second.

Check your TW because this book was completely different from the first in an amazing way. 👍🏼

Ryker and Kenna with burn the world down while standing in the middle of the flames.
With Kenna being kidnapped and put through so much pain and torture she no longer knows what is true or not. Ryker never stopped looking for her since the day she went missing. But the biggest betrayal is from inside.
The pain you feel for Kenna as she is being held hostage and the torture you feel for her is worth waiting for the revenge. And revenge she shall have. With all the Stone boys at her side, being the strength she needs.
This book ends with a cliffhanger wanting to know what happens. Does West or Ally make it? What happens to Cole and Kenna?
I guess I will find out in the next book.

I am literally writing my review and messaging CM at the same time! That ending, has me fuming (in a good way). The emotional roller coaster this book put me through, made waiting for it that much better. The pain this woman has to go through and then has to pull herself out of such a dark place, it is remarkable. The entire cast of characters have such amazing character arcs, I can’t even begin to touch on it. CM did such an amazing job with this book, that I don’t know that I can do it justice. Just go read Book one and then immediately go and read book 2. Hopefully we wont have to wait too long for book 3!

I have been waiting for this book to come out for months, and now I'm left feeling very conflicted. I hate cliff hangers, and the fact that I can't just jump into the next book is going to eat at me until the next one releases. This book is dark and you need to read the triggers before digging in. Kenna is put through Hell after being kidnapped. She has to believe that Ryker and the Stone brothers are coming after her, but how long can she hold on without breaking? Ryker is dealing with his brother's death and searching for Kenna. Can he hold it together without destroying his family? Will Ryker and Kenna find their way back to each other, if so at what expense?

Wow that was a wild ride, like hold on tight and pray….i thought that Scorching Lies was crazy with the plot twists. I swear C.M Nyx was like hold my beer, let me see what I can do.

The plot thickens and just like with Scorching Lies, I need more. Spoiler- it ends on a cliff hanger and my reaction was wait no, come on. Whyyyyy

My favourite quote was “ step away from what you think is right and just feel. We’re all fighting the same battle with different scars”

This book has darker themes than Scorching Lies, as always check the content warnings to make sure you’re comfortable. If you use those lists like a shopping list, happy shopping!

Excuse me?! Excuse me I think you left me hanging with that jaw dropping ending…. I am still reeling from it and lower my heart rate… just wow! This book was 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It’s dark, delicious, fire burning in my veins great read. You are surely missing out if you don’t get your hands on it! The spice, the darkness that consumed me 🥵🥵. This book is 🔥! I could not put it down. It does have a few rough triggers, but a reader like myself is was gold! 😍. You want action, mystery, suspense, twists and turns, an absolute rollercoaster of a story, this book is the perfect fit!

WOW!! Just WOW!! This book was AMAZING!! It's a continuation of Kenna & Ryker's story. This was NOT an easy read, please keep that in mind. Kenna is going through some horrible trauma & it's heartbreaking. We finally find out who the "shadowman" is & I wasn't expecting that at all!! Kenna is gone for 2 months & so much happens there. There's still a lot of questions that need answering & some questions were answered. It ends on a cliffy & I cannot wait until the next one! I loved seeing Oakley & her guys & can't wait to read more about them. Some justice is served, but not all. I highly recommend this book & author!

***Spoiler Alert (possibly)*** This is book 2 in this series and is without a doubt my best read of the year.

We pick up with Kenna’s kidnapping and Cole’s death. Ryker is going insane every day Kenna hasn’t been found. Kenna is in a big empty dark room, tied to a chair. She sits in that chair, refusing to be broken, for a large chunk of time. She is sitting in own pee and feces. She is disgusting herself. But still, refuses to be broken.

Our FMC goes through multiple levels of h€ll. She is totally bada$$!!!

This story is so well written that I felt like I was living it. Seeing it in person! It has suspense, horror, thriller, comedy and more! I absolutely loved it!!!

This book took me longer to get through. It's slow to start but picks up. It was a good book that ends on a cliffhanger. Following Kenna and the boys in this book made it hard not to scream at them. You will have moments like you do when watching scary movies and yell look behind you. It was amazing how you pick up on clues without realizing you're doing it until the moment comes. By the time the end of the book came I was needing more. I would love to post more but I don't want to give anything away.

This is book two of this series and I have to say darker....much darker, but I was definitely ok with that. Please read the trigger warnings on this book as there are some scenes that were a little rough but oh so worth it. I thought I was ready for this book, but I was not and now I am waiting for the 3rd with very little patience.
This was so much more than the first book. Scorching Lies was fantastic but Burning Truths is much more and with the ending like that.... I am gearing up for the next one to rock my world even more.

This story had me, it took a minute to get me fully engaged but when I was, I was so in. So many mouth dropping moments; torture, surprise, and hanging me on the ledge ending. This storyline is great, the characters were amazing and the all together feels were explosive. C.M Nyx didn’t disappoint on any of the fear play she writes and I mean it���s pretty much a given. I read book 1 and loved it! Now book 2… holy hell. It is definitely a check your TWs due to on page SA, I found myself angry with the scenes unfolding, angry with how an evil person can manipulate a mind into thinking what it wants, but happy with the resolution. I love this storyline, the characters, twists and turns, development, and writing style. Great read! 🥰 “you bleed, I bleed” yesssss 🤗 4/5 stars ⭐️ an amazing quick read as I read it in a day!

Kenna has been captured and is doing her best to endure this dreadful predicament. We see her reach a point of total despair, but is there a way for her to be restored? The guys continuously search for her and refuse to lose hope. However, what occurs when her trust in them falters? We learn more about G and Oakley Savage, which is interesting. Please check your TW as this book may not be for everyone. It was a slow start for me but it did get better.

This book was a real uphill battle for me to finish. Yes, there were moments when things picked up, but overall it was like pulling teeth. At times I felt like we were going in circles with what was happening.
I was very confused for the first 1/3 because things were so vague. I didn't know who was doing what, or who was double-crossing whom.
By the end it felt like too much work.
The final page pissed me off.

This book follows on from Scorching Lies. Kenna and the Stone brothers are at it again. After Kenna is kidnapped and seems like she won't be found. You see Kenna grow and learn more about herself in the first few chapters.

Also, learn more about Ryker, West, and Cole. As well as Gio and Oakly. The dynamic between them all and the storyline makes it hard to put down.

Book 2 in the Consume Me series. It picks up after the events of Sorching Lies. Kenna Kingston has been kidnapped while Ryker Stone is tearing the world apart, looking for his little killer.

The first few chapters are difficult to read, given the content, as this book is much darker than the first. Kenna's trauma is all consuming, but her fight back is amazing.

Twists and turns await in this book, but yet again, the cliffhanger hurts like hell. Roll on the next instalment.

This author doesn't play when it comes to torturing her characters and her readers. I can't wait till the next book to see where this story goes.

That was crazy!
It's a lot darker than the first book, but i was here for it. And that cliffhanger was brutal.
We are left with lots of questions, and I need answers.
So, I will be here, patiently waiting for the arrival of the next book, sobbing quietly to myself.

This book finds Kenna in a horrible situation that is hard to read about at times. The Stone brothers will stop at nothing to get help her. She must fight to come back from everything that has happened. And Ryker is there every step of the way. Ryker has touch her a die vibes, but in the best way.
Questions were answered in this one, but more questions emerged. Can't wait for book 3.

This 2nd installment was gut wrenching but had me on the edge of my seat at every turn of the page. I loved every second of it, even the hard parts. It follows up right after the ending in Scorching Lies, so there are no big time gaps. Would recommend reading but check your TW first as this book is a bit darker than the first book.
