Enjoyable read but the relationship development was pretty absent and it ended super abruptly.
I liked both characters and would have liked to see a bit more of them individually and some relationship build up.

Always love a fix from Cara Dee. This one was too short without the relationship development, but still an enjoyable read.

Cara Dee nails it yet again with another superb novella that manages to convey a whole load of information in a relatively short story.
My only complaint was that I wanted more of this pairing! It starts off as a kinda enemies at work vibe but it soon becomes pretty clear that Griffin didn't ever really hate Tracy, more he was bitter that the younger man appeared to be perfect for him while he was in the throws of his existing relationship imploding.
Once this is dealt with, we're given an exercise in how to write BDSM primal play and CNC that is superb and ticks all the right boxes.
Loved this development between the two men and loved the guest appearances from Colt, Lucas and Kit as well as more of the Camassia Cove regulars!

Fun to see 8 to 10 side character cameos, but that's probably the strength and weakness of some of Dee's books; they're great if you're familiar with the series and characters. Otherwise, it may feel like character overload chaos.

It amazes me how Cara writes so many different relationship dynamics but it never feels like she’s repeating a previous book. Each relationship is always unique in its own way. Tracy is precious and must be protected at all costs. I buddy read this with @emmys.reads and we were both texting each other squealing once these two started at it. KICKING OUR FEET AND GIGGLING LIKE LOONS!

(3.5/5) I'm a little unsure about this one.
The plot and kinky aspects were very similar to "The Game" series, which isn't a bad thing, but since this is a different series, I would have liked a little more variety.
Also, the beginning of Tracy and Griffin's relationship didn't really make much sense. I was expecting some drama and mostly grovelling, but I didn't get that at all. One moment Griffin hated Tracy's guts and the next he was completely infatuated with him. I would have liked more foreplay, I think. It wasn't nearly enough.
But I liked everything else.

C'est toujours un plaisir de retrouver l'univers de Cara Dee et de Camassia Cove. Je n'ai pas encore lu tous les romans, d'autres ont été lu il y a un bail, mais on fait vite à remettre en place tout ce petit monde car oui, comme d'habitude, on recroise pas mal de personnages de l'auteur.
Ici,il sera question de Griffin, rencontré probablement dans "Dirty Chef" que je n'ai pas encore lu. Il retrouve le restaurant qu'il a quitté il y a un moment, et sur place, Tracy, un cuisinier qu'il n'aurait souhaité pas revoir...
Dans l'ensemble, ce fut une lecture sympathique. J'ai bien aimé leur duo et la façon dont est amené leur kink. Mais j'ai trouvé que tout allait beaucoup trop vite, il manque vraiment du développement dans l'histoire et surtout dans leur relation. Alors certes, c'est mignon, mais il n'y a pas vraiment de construction dans leur relation de couple, dommage...

Yet another amazing book by one of my favorite authors.
R for Rough?
Y for yes and G for a Good time 😬 Reviewing this book was a bit difficult for me. Objectively, this book is all kinds of amazing. The writing, as per usual, is captivating, and the characters? I’m there for them. They’re beautiful, funny, and adorable.
What’s amazing, you get to meet a lot of the guys from Cara’s other books. Mad and Abel are there—of course they are, we’re in Camassia. The Carters join us too; who wouldn’t want to hear the Texan and his Kit bicker a little? Grandpa Ryan is also there 😬
It’s all kinds of fun, as I said. It’s a short read that acts as a necessary, delicious dose of dopamine for a Friday afternoon, to get you out of the fatigue of the week and transition you gently into the awaited weekend.
And I love fun, don’t get me wrong. Daddy Christmas last December had almost the same vibes, and I went for 5⭐️ with that one. It made sense to me, given the theme of the book, the holiday season, and the Christmas spirit. It felt right to have an upbeat story with a delightful cast of characters.
But!
Subjectively, and here’s why I struggled with reviewing the book, the story was just too upbeat for me. And I’d like to point out that R for Rough wasn’t a “holiday” book.
I’ve said it before, for me to feel the oomph factor right in my chest, I need angst, I need something to go wrong, and I need the characters to try and work it all out. A bit of tension, a dash of heartbreak, a splash of pain mixed with anger.
So, if you enjoy lighthearted stories, don’t hesitate for a second to go for this. You’ll love it.
If you’re like me and enjoy the darker side of love, still, pick it up and give yourself a bit of rest from the dark.

Tracy and Griffin were fun. Their chemistry was brilliant! But my favourite part is absolutely the event.
I’m looking forward to seeing them hopefully pop up in future books

How absolutely adorable were these two. And scorching hot. Also fantastic banter and great found family vibes and so perfectly “read in one shot” writing that doesn’t let you put it down. Incase it wasn’t clear I loved Tracy and Griffin’s story. Going back to Camassia Cove is always like reading a comfort read - all the warm welcome you’d expect and with added tons of excitement and newness to keep you hooked.
These two couldn’t be more right for each other and this second chance couldn’t come at a better time for these two. Griffin’s a bit wary and jaded but even he is buoyed the sparkling lightning bug that is Tracy. It’s also absolute scorching hot fire cause their k1nk$ line up perfectly. That primal chase was absolutely amazing.
If you’re looking for a k1nky daddy dynamic with primal play read which is also sweet and emotional and low angst I definitely recommend giving this a go.

This was good but felt rushed like a plane that runs out of runway. It needed a bit more build up and was almost a insta-love situation. Griffin went from loathing to love very fast. It was emotional whiplash that needed a bit more development. It was nice to have a check in with Madigan and Abel. The primal play part was interesting. I thought it would be more like The Game series but it wasn’t. The characters were perfect for each other and it went from 0- 100 in just 2 chapters. 🤔

This story is about Griffin and Tracy, two chefs working in the same restaurant. Tracy thinks Griffin hates him, even while he has harbored a crush on the other man for quite some time. When Griffin finally explains his behavior when they meet again at a kink event, everything changes.
R for Rough is a story on the shorter side and only takes places in about 1 week, except the epilogue. While I can understand a lot can change in a couple of days, the timeline went a bit to fast for me, making it hard to really connect with either character.
Griffin supposedly has a very difficult time trusting Tracy because of his past relationship, but they never really talk about this. There is no angst, no suspense, just a light and easy read. (Unless you count primal play kink as a heavy read, which I don't.)
Even though I would have wished the story was a bit longer, to get to know both main characters better, I still thought it was a great story.

R for Rough is 100% true. Because I had a rough time with this!
Maybe in a week or so, I'll be back to post a more lengthier review, but right now what I feel after finishing and kinda skimming the last 10% is that Griffin and Tracy not only went from 0 to 100 in terms of relationship but kink as well. Maybe I'm a jaded, cynical a-hole but when the MCs are going from thinking the other person might hate them (here Trace feels that way), to a chance encounter that shows their interests might align, to awkward small convos, to f**king against a tree and then dreaming of a future together and being close to exchanging ILUs, leaves me squinting and with whiplash from the light of speed the romance had.
Then we spend the rest of the book with a primal chase that had close to zero eroticism, passion, lust or longing, -nothing like what we've seen in Their Boy or the clown chase that I don't remember in which Game book was in-, nor the interrogation scene had any of those emotions either... where was the erotic anticipation that we got in Breathless ?? Nowhere! The whole of it felt more like a scene from Renegades, than a kinky situation.
So yeah... I think Cara writes incredible stories when there's some kind of military adventure in them, they develop differently leaving room for a relationship and foundation to be built between her MCs but in her stories that revolve around kink, that foundation building is lacking or missing all together.

The author has an amazing way of pulling the reader into a story and when you've finished, you don't want to let go. It's one of the reasons that I love the series' crossovers and other couples showing back up in stories within the series. Make no mistake, you can read this one as a standalone. I have only read a few of the Camassia Cove books before this one and had no issues reading it. I would say having read Power Play might help (which I've read) and possibly Dirty Chef (which I have not read), but neither is really necessary.
Tracy and Griffin have not gotten along in the past. Their mutual friends don't understand why, but still think they would be a great couple. Griffin had his reasons, but Tracy was mystified. I gave Tracy a lot of credit for trying to find a way to coexist with Griffin. I loved that it helped them break the cycle and helped Griffin start to see how his actions hurt Tracy in the past. I was glad that Griffin didn't give in to the negative thoughts he had about relationships, and actually got to know Tracy. I loved how Tracy popped up and let Griffin get to know him without pressuring him. I liked when Griffin finally cleared the air and when he was ready, he was all in with Tracy. These two were meant to be together and I loved seeing them work things out and meld their lives together.
I loved seeing Colt, Lucas, and Kit for a bit in this one. I loved seeing Madigan and Abel again as well. Having them all in the primal play event was awesome. I'm super intrigued by many of the others at the event and will be looking forward to reading their stories when I get a chance.

This book by Cara Dee can definitely be read as a standalone as it is billed but I warn you that as soon as you start reading her books you will be pulled into her world and want to read all of her books. Not that this is a bad thing by any means as they are all terrific. With this book we are back in Camassia Cove with Tracy and Griffin, two chefs who don’t like each other very much, but work at the same restaurant. Ms. Dee gives us a bit of their backstory but early on in the book they meet at a munch and very quickly realize the “particularities” they have in common. We are then taken on a voyage of discovery between the two of them, culminating in a marvelous primal play adventure in the woods. This scene is the best part of the book for me. Considering that this scene is about people running around in the woods it is the type of thing that can be difficult for an author to describe well enough that readers can relate to what is happening. It’s like trying to describe a sculpture to someone who can’t see or touch it. Ms. Dee is particularly good at writing this type of scene and I find that I get so involved when she writes this type of thing that I feel like I am in the story and can see and feel all of what is going on. The other thing that she is great at is getting across the psychological aspects of her characters lives and that is very evident in the chase scene again. She melds both of these together to create what is one of her best kink scenes ever.
Of course the rest of the story about the relationship between Tracy and Griffin is also up to her usual standard and we also get to see characters from previous stories as well as a cross over from other series.

Oh my freaking goodness, my heart exploded, I loved this one so hard!
Griffin is a chef and returned to his work at Coho Bar & Grill, after a long break after his relationship stranded.
He loves it there, only if Tracey, one of the other chefs, would just move to an other restaurant. He hates to be in his presence.
And now, dang he’s also a member of the same BDSM club as Griffin, joining the same close group. Griffin wasn’t aware Tracey being a little. It makes him feel even more bad.
Tracy is lonely and yearns for a Daddy aka grumpy Griffin. But the stubborn man didn’t want him.
Tracy is just the sweetest, but so hurt by Griffin’s behavior. He’s anxious being around Griffin.
Griffin is aware he mistreated him badly, and is full of remorse. He has been so awful to this Little One.
Gosh, it’s not helping they tick the same kink boxes, so compatible. What to do with the coming event.
Most likely they didn’t share the same expectations for the future. Griffin is vulnerable with relationships, he wants stability and someone to stay with, and Tracey probably is just here for a short tryout. (Griffin’s opinion)

Well Cara Dee does it again! Another great addition to her repertoire and to this series! I LOVED visiting Camassia Cove again, seeing old characters and some new ☺️. And of course in Cara fashion, we also have visits and mentions of other characters from her other books, The Game Series. I love Cara for this, because every time she writes a book, it's like coming back home again, being welcomed by your favourite characters in a big hug 🥰.
I adored Griffin and Tracey's story so much! They were absolutely so perfectly matched for one another, not only in life goals, but their careers and kinks lined up perfectly as well 😈 and oh man, the kinks were my favourites. Daddy/Boy? Primal Play and Some Sadism? Sign me up, yes please ✅🎯🥵. I was here for every single moment of it!
Cara also does a brilliant job of mixing spice and plot, and adding just enough angst to keep you interested without overwhelming you. At least for this particular book anyway 😂.
I can't wait to see more of Camassia Cove and hopefully the character Jameson speaks to Cara sometime in the near future because I am chomping at the bit to learn about him and his lifestyle 🥹 (patiently of course!). My only complaint is that the book was too short! But please know this is just a JOKING complaint because honestly Cara is my favourite author and an instant buy from me, she could write an 1000+ page book and I still would want more 😂😍. This book was another hit for me and will definitely be added to the long list of favourites from this author (meaning all of her books💜).

I love Cara so I automatically read everything she writes. But I really just hate novellas. Cara said this story is a novella that turned into a (short) full length story, but I think that's misleading. It's a novella that's word count got out of control, sure.
But if you come into this book expecting a story with fully fleshed out characters, you'll be disappointed. Understand what it really is, which is a snapshot into a new relationship, and you'll enjoy it more. With that said, I'm really hoping we get a book with more girth from Cara soon; these short books are making me sad.
On to the story. We're back in Camassia Cove, but in the kink community! And we have crossovers galore which is always so much fun. We have a Little and a Daddy Dom who didn't have the greatest introduction to each other - until kink entered the chat. And then they raced towards each other so fast, it's like all the hurt and anger and misunderstandings disappeared out the window.
I'm feeling kind of lazy because it's been over a week since I read this, and I don't really feel like writing more. I didn't hate it. Cara writes so well, I really will give anything she writes a chance. I love Daddy kink which was a plus, but I only tolerate primal play so they almost cancelled each other out when there wasn't much else to the story.
Overall, if you've liked Cara's other stories, definitely give it a read. If you've never read her before, maybe start somewhere else where you can really see her character development shine.

R for Rough is Cara Dee's return to Camassia Cove. While this is book 17 in the Camassia Cove books, this installment can stand alone. Readers follow Tracy and Griffin, two chefs who got off on the wrong foot when they met as co-workers years prior. Griffin had left Camassia and has recently returned, only to discover that Tracy is still there and that they will be co-workers once again. Griffin's decision to be professional but avoidant goes out the window when Tracy also shows up at the local BDSM community meeting. When a lot of their kinks align, Griffin and Tracy call a truce to figure out what more there could be between them.
This is one of Cara's more lighthearted stories. Yes, there is the emotional and personal development that is expected from Cara's work, but the heavy-hitting quality of some of her other series is absent here. Once Griffin and Tracy work through their initial miscommunication, everything is pretty much golden between them. As such, the enjoyment is there, but the emotional payoff isn't quite what you might come to expect from heavier books like the Auctioned series.
Nevertheless, this was a fun and quick read, and I was happy to have the opportunity to read it early.

This was a fantastic read - I had a great time seeing Tracy and Griffin go from co-workers who could barely stand each other to a clingy, needy Daddy / boy dynamic. The chemistry between them was fierce, and the initial reluctance and animosity between them made things intriguing. It wasn't long before Griffin admitted to his misplaced feelings though, and Tracy got the opportunity to act on the crush he'd been harbouring.
They were so hot together and I loved the primal play and Griffin's sadism. Tracy was the perfect boy for him, and there were several scorching scenes throughout the story. They quickly fell into their dynamic, once they had talked things out they were both all in. It was fast paced, but it didn't feel rushed to me. I think their shared past helped, as well as Griffin laying his cards on the table and their open communication.
I could have easily read more about Tracy and Griffin, and I didn't feel ready to let them go at the end. R for Rough was a captivating read, and Cara Dee truly excels at writing kink that feels both authentic and raw, with a lot of vulnerability and affection between the characters. I just keep falling in love with her stories and characters - and Griffin and Tracy was no exception! If you're into low angst romances with primal play and DD/lb, this needs to be on your TBR.

Cara wasn’t kidding around when she named this one… R for Rough? Perfect!
Griffin and Tracy don’t like each other, or so they think. Griffin has returned to Camassia with a jaded heart after a breakup and as he and Tracy start working together again it becomes obvious that there is some kind of animosity between them. When they both end up at the same kink meeting it forces them to reevaluate their feelings and explore what could be.
I enjoyed the dynamic between these two, everything about them just clicked. Tracy brought out the softer/Daddy side of Griffin and Griffin allowed Tracy to just be himself. The story itself was very fast paced but not unbelievable. I loved returning to the Camassia world, my favourite of Cara’s, and getting a glimpse into the lives of previous books characters that I adore, especially the cameo from Kit, Colt and Lucas, that was so good.
I feel I say this every time I read another of her books, but Cara’s writing is just too good to put down, everything she writes is brilliant, she makes her books so easy to read and the stories flow so well you can’t help but feel that your in this world right along side her. She is my number one author and I can’t wait for the next one.

Get out your personal fans for this one, cuz it's smoking. Rough for rough and hard BDSM primal play and for the intimate scenes between Giffin and his new boy, Tracy. Both chefs, this couple has a beautiful dynamic--on and off the work schedule. Before Tracy went away to complete his culinary education, Griffin wanted no part of him. That was mostly due to his own broken heart and need to avoid complications but now that Tracy's back, Griffin realizes his mistakes in how he treated the young man previously and is more open and honest with him, leading to the possibility of a relationship between the two.
If I had any complaint at all, it would be that I wanted more-- more pages, more time for relationship development, more intimate scenes, more play time, more time with others from the Game series, more time in primal play, and so on. This so so good that, just like with a box chocolates, I just wanted more because I didn't want to put it down.
Loved this! Can you tell? Don't hesitate to buy it if you like kink. They do have a Daddy/little relationship but most of the focus of this story is on establishing an S/M relationship and moving into primal play with others from Camassia Cove and with Colt, Lucas, and Kit from the Game series.

This is another fun and kinky trip to the world of Camassia Cove, this time with some crossover characters from The Game Series, although the book stands alone very well. In this story, Griffin is back at Camassia Cove following some extended time away in Europe. Griffin has been recovering from a failed relationship, partially triggered by seeing how his co-worker, Tracy, seemed so much more perfect in some ways. Now, Griffin just feels grumpy and wants to keep his distance - until he sees Tracy at a munch. He had no idea!
Tracy has been attracted to Griffin for ages, although he had no idea he was into kink, a sadist, and Daddy Dom. Now, that just seems like a perfect fit - if only Griffin could see it that way. Tracy decides to go after what he wants in small increments. Surely, Griffin can't keep his grump on with all Tracy's awesomeness. This book ultimately gets to a beautiful forever love.
