Under the glow of the full moon's light, a symphony of howls pierces the night. But don't be fooled with their hypnotic lures, for in the shadows . . . there will be wolves.
In this collection of short stories and poetry, multiple authors weave fantastical tales from comedy to horror. A vampire and werewolf duo pull off an art gallery heist, but the vampire almost ruins everything, as usual. The case of Jack the Ripper is one of the most famous unsolved mysteries of England . . . but no one talks about the Canis Lupus hairs found on the bodies. A college student struggles to pursue his human dreams while finding his place in his wolf pack. When werewolves destroy all that a princess holds dear, she wields her powers to seek revenge. A wolfish prank to scare highschool bullies goes horribly wrong. Someone or something is murdering local children and a teacher will stop at nothing to find the killer.
Turn these pages to find glimmers of light amidst the shadows where the lines between human and wolf are blurred, and the moonlight reveals secrets that are best kept in the dark.
There Will Be Wolves is a multi-genre collection of poems and stories that feature the classic werewolf as well as new interpretations of the shapeshifter. The anthology holds an overall theme of transformation—be it for the betterment or detriment of the “changed.”
There are some lighter pieces, with a couple including humor, but a majority of the stories are darker, more thrilling pieces. I enjoyed the variety and I think others will, too. I do think sections dividing the two categories would have been a nice addition. The stark contrast between the overall tones of different pieces was sometimes jarring reading back to back. This may not be the case for everyone.
My favorite stories were The Admirer (great psychological piece with a great lesson of choosing your heroes), Ripped (an alternate history of the infamous Jack the Ripper), and Cloaked in Crimson (a speculative reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood). I would love to see Cloaked in Crimson in a longer piece or a spin-off set in the same world in the future!
I also enjoyed the humor in Vox the Mastermind and hope there’s more of the vampire and werewolf to be seen. With the combination of vampire and werewolf mentioned, I have to also highlight the poem Moonlit Confrontation which was especially fun to read—imagine a rap battle between the two!
If you like werewolf stories, both the classic approach and with new and unique twists, as well as a variety of story genres and poetry, then add Let There Be Wolves to your shelves!

This was an interesting collection of stories and poems featuring werewolves. I really enjoyed all of the different stories. They were all unique. It was a pretty quick read. I would recommend it for fans of werewolf stories.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
I had chills from beginning to end in the best way! So many fun new takes on the werewolf story - and so many classic ones as well. My personal favorites were the “bookend” stories, if you will - The Secret of Shifting and Vox the Mastermind. However, as someone who is fascinated with Victorian London and all that goes with it, Ripped was also EXCELLENT. Basically this entire anthology is worth a reader’s SEVERAL looks.
I really enjoyed this mixed bag of werewolf inspired stories and poems.
My interest was kept high by the mix of author styles, story types and the juxtaposition of some beautifully written poetic pieces next to some grittier themes. I liked that I never knew what to expect next, and so never got bored.
My favourite poems were Wolves among us and Moonlit Confrontation.
My favourite stories were The academy and the kiss, Sunset Skirmish (with a surprise ending) and Thicker than Blood.
If you’re into werewolves you’ll definitely enjoy this anthology. I liked being able to pick it up and enjoy a couple of pieces, then put it down again, and I appreciated the mix of stories and poems which kept things fresh.
4 stars.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when going into this book, I was very intrigued by a few of the tropes i read in the blurb and just decided to jump in. And I’m very happy I did!
This was a very unique, interesting collection of stories. Such different genres, tropes and settings, yet all featuring wolves, which made for a very pleasant reading experience.
I enjoyed the writing style of all of the stories and the world building was just perfect for these short stories .
Highly recommend!

This was a great antology of short stories and rhymes. All unique in kind, one humorous and the other about war. Definitely recommended if you like werewolves!
Like all great anthologies, there's something for everyone. Humorous stories, serious stories, stories of heists and battles, stories of both protectors, and dangerous beasts.
I think my favorite was Vox the Mastermind because some of the stories had a very serious tone, and it was nice to end the collection on a lighthearted story.
This anthology is a deep dive into transformation—sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Through a mix of short stories and poetry, fifteen authors bring werewolves to life in both familiar and unexpected ways. From classic horror to dark humor, each piece offers a unique take on shapeshifters, blurring the line between man and beast, predator and prey.
Right from the start, the first poem pulled me in. Some pieces lingered in my mind long after reading, and a few left me wanting more—certain stories could easily expand into full-length novels. While the mix of tones, from eerie thrillers to playful absurdity, was a bit jarring at times, a different story order or sectioning might have smoothed that out. But overall, the variety kept things interesting.
Most of the collection leans into horror and suspense, but there are moments of levity that add contrast. If you’re drawn to folklore, transformations, and the untamed wildness of the wolf, this is absolutely worth picking up. I’ve discovered several new authors I’ll be keeping an eye on, and I highly recommend giving this a read. Thank you to the author & booksirens for the ARC. Adult short stories and poetry that all play on werewolves and the lives of those affected by them. Between instances of brutal violence, crime, and revenge, there are pockets of humor and heartwarming moments that made me smile. Vampires and packs make an appearance, along with each author's take on what a werewolf's hunger entails. Even dashes of romance and full blown fantasy.
Creative and varied anthology that highlights the strengths of every contributor. Left me feeling inspired overall. I hope that they had as much fun writing these entries as I did reading them. Highly recommend to any of the werewolf fans out there.

Great collection of hair-raising short stories and heartfelt poetry perfect for fans of werewolf tales! There’s sweet romance, friendship, vampires vs wolves, bloody battles, historical fantasy, and more! Some shifters choose to fight the monster inside of them, while others succumb to insatiable bloodlust. These stories remind me of the legend; we all have a good and evil wolf inside us fighting for supremacy. The one who wins is the one we feed.
My favorite poems were That Man, The Wolf and There Will Be Wolves My favorite short stories were Ripped and Thicker Than Blood

Great anthology of short stories and rhymes, the is something to be found for everyone. Quick read and many stopping points if you are like me and stay up way too late. Good mix of classic takes and new visions, the only down side I would mention is that the tone of story can be day and night different and the transition from a humor filled version to a newer retelling featuring Jack the Ripper can be abrasive. This review is provided free and voluntarily from a free advanced reader copy.
I do like a collection of short stories, it always amazes me that author's can write a whole story with only a handful of pages. And of course there is always something for everyone.
As a person who is interested in Jack The Ripper I found the story Ripped to be most interesting and one I enjoyed the most. I liked that each author was completely different in there approach.
I will definitely be reading more by these authors.
