A brother and sister divided.
An unseen, perilous realm.
The ultimate choice between destruction and salvation.

The ordinary life of Hazel Atlas vanishes instantly on the night of the accident.

Thrown from the path of a swerving vehicle, Hazel is miraculously spared. Her older brother Emmett is not so lucky. Right before she passes out, Hazel catches sight of the stranger who pushed her out of the way, a dark hooded figure with glowing hands. But of the two, why save her?

As Emmett is overcome with pain and anger, Hazel’s guilt pushes her to find answers, and hopefully, a way to help him before it’s too late. Her search leads her to a doorway that opens to an unseen realm layered on top of earth.

Suddenly propelled outside of all she knows, Hazel finds herself in the middle of a tug-of-war between the ancient powers of good and evil. She must dig deeper than she ever has before in search of the truth that will change her life forever.

This book was the best I have read all year and maybe since before that. I was immediately hooked, and the intrigue of the plot stayed throughout every page. I couldn't put this book down until I'd completed it, and when I did, I immediately regretted how soon I let myself finish such a powerful story. The unique plot line, complex character dynamics, and the beauty of the allegory weaves a fantastic and thrilling plot. Would highly recommend to all ages, families, and everyone who has the blessing of picking this book up. If there was a way to give more than five stars, I would rate this high enough to make a constellation. Cannot recommend enough.

From page one, this story drew me in! I wasn’t expecting to particularly enjoy this read, but it was gifted to me by a dear friend. I enjoyed this book from page one to the last! I hope to see a continuation in future books! A very relatable way to parallel our lives with Christ & the demons amongst us daily.

Wow. Hazel Atlas and the Doorway to Ohr is one of the best books I've ever read. I started it on Kindle and quickly bought my own print copy and then 3 others as gifts!!

Emily does a great job of creating a world that is fantastical yet relatable. I plan to re-read it with my kids.

I can't say enough good things. It's as good as Narnia, Screwtape, and Wingfeather! I can't wait for Book 2!!

This book. Wow. At the end of the day, the story prompted me to think about God, the spiritual realm, and its applications, which is the best thing a book could do, in my opinion. The pacing was incredible and had me on the edge of my seat. I also love the author’s ability to develop characters, her creativity in world-making, and the way she tied it all together from start to finish. If you’re on the fence about getting this book, do it! Just make sure you have some time carved out otherwise you might be losing some sleep as you keep telling yourself, “okay, just one more chapter!”

Wow 🤩

This book took me on an emotional and spiritual rollercoaster. The writing does a fantastic job of making you feel like you (the reader) are Hazel Atlas. When she was frustrated, I was frustrated for her! When she was determined, I was rooting for her (right or wrong). When she finally awakens, I, too, felt like I woke up and understood. This story is a testament to faith and courage and listening to your heart. Even as a grown adult, it was a reminder and a lesson to me as well.

This book was great! If you can't handle cliffhangers wait until the whole series is released because my goodness! I need to know what happens next! That cliffhanger on the last sentence was just cruel 3 I believe this book has some Christian themes which I greatly enjoyed discovering. I let my best friend borrow the book to read too and she also enjoyed it and needs to know what's going to happen next. My grandparents were fortunate enough to get a signed copy for me. I can't wait for the next one to release!

I can't begin to unpack this-
Yall, I'm weeping rn😭✋️
I wanna give a 10page analysis about this and I can't even rn! The shock needs to wear off.
But seriously. Read. This. Book. It is incredible. Emily brought amazing insight into the spiritual vs physical realms. She gave us characters that we were so emotionally invested in that we felt their every pain and argued with their bad decisions.
She gave us moments to laugh, cry, rage, grin like idiots, and rant to friends.
I'm so excited to see this story unfold❤️
Well done, Emily. Very well done.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (⭐️)
Recommendation: if you love battles, the supernatural, loveable characters and the real questions and conversations in life, you'll love this! I'd recommend this book to anyone!😁❤️

I wasn’t sure I was expecting to get teary eyed reading this, but in fact I did several times. The Chronicles of Emunah runs the gamut from swashbuckling action to incredibly poignant moments that will challenge your heart and encourage your imagination. This to me reads similarly to Rick Riordans Percy Jackson series in some ways, with the depth and symbolism of C.S. Lewis. I certainly wish I would have had this as a young teen trying to figure out some of the same battles Hazel faces told in such a beautiful way!

A mixture of The Chronicles of Narnia and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Hazel Atlas and the Doorway to Ohr is both a riveting tale of good versus evil and an exploration of faith such as I have never seen before. Kane does a magnificent job at seamlessly weaving together adventure and reflection, taking the reader on a journey of peril, growth, pain, and triumph while inviting them to reflect on their own relationship with God. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone either seeking a wonderful Christian allegory or just a really good book!

I cannot describe what this book did to me! Shook me, almost made me cry and begin to believe in love again. This is a spiritual warfare book. If you are familiar at all, you can easily see the analogy that correlates with the Bible. Very powerful story about a girl in her journey to find out why she was saved from death and why her brother has turned inward and becoming nasty. The struggle of trusting God and why He allows certain things to happen.
This book is going on my keeper shelf and I hope there is more to the series!!

Hazel Atlas and the Doorway to Ohr

Hazel Atlas and the Doorway to Ohr is a page turner! How marvelous to read a Christian fantasy book that so vividly brings to life the spiritual realm and the spiritual battles we all face. I can envision this book (series) becoming a hit on the big screen as well, where Emily Spencer Kane’s heroes of the faith would shine as the world’s real superheroes.

A Story of Courage, Faith, and Redemption

This was such a great read! The story pulled me in from the very beginning, and I couldn’t put it down. It’s not just an exciting adventure — it’s a powerful allegory with a clear message about truth, light, and hope. The characters and world-building are vibrant and engaging, and the spiritual parallels make the story both meaningful and memorable. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to see what the author writes next!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I began reading, but was quickly drawn into the character of Hazel, her life, and her adventures. I found it hard to put down, but I hated to see it come to a close! I look forward to further reading in the Chronicles of Emunah series.
