As one decolonizing from my upbringing, this book one everything my heart has been feeling called to a focal point these past two years. I would very much like to know more work by Yaffa, and would consider myself lucky to feel the tendrils of community they have built touch and kindle roots among my own. This felt like a work that will be held dear to me on my journey, as it might be the most seen and in community I have felt from their words in a long time. She has a way of seeing the world that embodies that concept of sumid I have only begun to understand, but has been a foundation of their own existence. I felt kindred, as we should all learn to be, to embrace that community and utopian potential that would see us all cared for and nurtured in spirit and body.
