Is this the final chapter or is it a new beginning?
Since arriving at the priory, the world outside has changed.
For Mike, Emma and the rest of the Safe Haven refugees, their chances of returning home seem to have all but evaporated.
Now facing a fearsome army far greater than that of Olsen’s, will they give up their dream and try to find some small corner in which to live out the rest of their days? Or will they fight like they’ve never fought before?
I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.
I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.
In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

Artinian has again written a character driven, emotionally tale that will have you swiping or turning the page quickly to find out what happens. Wren, Robyn, Mila and others arrive back with over a thousand survivors from a castle in Edinborough that had been under siege. On the way back they find out there are enemies close by so they hit them first on a raid. Knowing they are no match for Olsen and finding out she's joined up with another enemy with a bigger army they decide to raid the castle for deadlier weapons, food, fuel etc. to try to even the odds. Will they success with the raid and at what cost? Artinian has again toyed with my emotions having me shed tears.
Christopher Artinian has done it again! I am always amazed at how he can keep this series (along with its companion series) fresh, but he does it every time!
Wren, Robyn and Mila have returned to the Priory where the Safe Haven residents are now living and they brought a few new friends with them! But, they also bring news that there are (potential) enemy forces nearby. Of course, Mike and Mia decide that the best thing to do is attack before the attack is brought to them.
Also, Prime Minister Beck thinks that the best course of action for him is to surrender himself to Olsen/Ashford and negotiate peace. Does he truly believe that those two power hungry psychopaths will comply?
Throw in plenty of action, both with zombies and enemy forces, a few near deaths (I'm coming for you, Artinian!), and a couple of unexpected budding romances and you have a great book! The book is fast paced, full of emotion and the addition of lots of fun new characters add to the enjoyment of this latest installment.
I really appreciate how the author has worked in relatable human emotions into these books. You have a beloved Auntie with dementia who is protected at all costs by her loving niece. You have a young autistic boy loved by everyone in the community. Then, you have a couple of the strongest characters we have come to love experiencing depression and hopelessness. All of these details bring a whole new level of engagement for the reader.
The full cast of amazing women characters is very unique for this genre. From the youngest to the oldest, the women in this group are fearless! It is a refreshing change from a lot of zompoc books where the women are just there as background fodder. And, we can't forget the dogs! Wolf, Muppet and Humphrey continue to earn their keep (and often amuse the reader).
Kim Bretton is an absolutely amazing narrator and her performance truly brings this series to life. Her individual voices for each of the characters are instantly recognizable to long-time listeners and it's almost like having a movie play in your head as you listen.
I only hope that the author continues this series for a long time. I feel like I know each and every character and love them like family!
That can't be the ending. I mean, there is so much left! Please tell me we will eventually get to know the outcome of the people on the island and their offer, I want to be there when the battle for Safe Haven happens, ... this could go on!! Fantastic read. Annoying at times with the characters who just cannot seem to get with the program. Denial is strong in human nature I suppose but its as if they're arguing against the facts like they have a choice knowing that they don't. Need the rest of the story. It's not over until Safe Haven is Safe Haven again, and Olsen needs to go down. I was really looking forward to reading how she handles the devastating blow her side took. I knew it wouldn't all fit in this book but.... there's no word of another, not that I can find yet anyway. If someone knows, please tell me so I can mark the date or something. Or if there's a 3rd set of books I'm unaware of.
Audiobook: I enjoyed this story from the opening paragraphs until the end. There hasn't been a story written by this author that I don't devour from the beginning until the end, and this story did not disappoint me. My attention was so captivated that I listened to the audiobook in one sitting. This author has written such realistic characters that I experienced their highs and their lows as the story unfolded. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I enjoyed Kim Bretton's narration as her performance was entertaining and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
If you are looking for the best zombie series, best writer, best characters and best narrator, look no further. This series has it all. Smart fast mouthed comments, action, heart, humor and all the things you’d want in a series. There are even some love stories developing. If you want to feel part of a family that’s makes fun of each other but loves deeply you’ll find that here. This is truly my favorite series of all time. Artinian writes the smartest and funniest characters you’ll ever come across. Kim Bretton voices them in a way no other could.
It’s a page turning rollercoaster of a series. Never quite knowing where it’s going to go or if you will be screaming , laughing or crying. You either love or completely hate the characters! The good ones are incredible the bad ones are monstrous evil destructive & inhumane . I found the series after reading the Burning tree series & the end of everything they’re all amazing read worthy series that you won’t want to put down! Highly recommend
wow! needed a week to recover from this book. Outstanding read once again, all the crew back to their old tricks and a few new faces which I love. A few on the edge of your seat moment’s reading this and may have threw my kindle a few times, dreading to carry on reading. Chris really knows how to be brutal to his readers. Fantastic book and eager to see what happens next.
This one had a nervous, dismal feel to it from the very beginning. I just knew things were going to go very wrong for the crew I have grown to love. I was so happy for the “disappointment.” I was on the edge of my seat through the entire book. Thank you Mr. Artinian for delivering another excellent read. At least I knew the animals would make it. Lol
I loved Raining blood (Part 2). It's always nice going back to one of my favourite series, feels like you the reader is checking in on the gang. Raining blood is filled with a twisty storyline that encompasses my favourite characters and their continued fight for survival. The bonds they build with one another, and their fight for hope in the bleakest of circumstances. I can't wait for the next book.
Christopher Artinian had done an amazing job of keeping this series intresting. With every book, he spins an exciting tale to keep us wanting more. He brings in new characters for us to love or hate. I hope Safe Haven and The End of Everything continues for a very long time.
Dare I say it? The best of the bunch in this wonderful series? Hooks you from the get go and literally couldn’t put it down. So fast paced and a rollercoaster of a ride from beginning to end. Love the dark humour and the graphic gruesome parts make this a masterpiece of zombie apocalypse genre. Love it!
Christopher's latest narrative masterfully weaves heart-pounding action, breathtaking adventure, spine-tingling suspense, and unexpected moments of joy into an unforgettable reading experience. A true storytelling triumph that showcases the author's exceptional skill in crafting immersive and emotionally resonant tales.
Well the battle continues but things finally turned around for them this time. Olsen and Ashland are gonna be so pissed. We know it won't be good because they'll never stop looming for Beck and the Safe Haven survivors. I like how everyone' s spirit and confidence are riising . what's next?
Chris, you were getting called all the b.......s I tell you reading this one.Swept through it as I needed to know at break neck what was happening.Another victory and perhaps another safe haven. So well done Chris.
I love: these books, the characters, how it flows, the good sampling of RAMS. What I hate: how fast the book goes, how long I have to wait for the next one. I recommend starting at the beginning and reading them in the order the author states.
Our Safe Haven crew have found themselves in a very bad situation once again. Their numbers have increased greatly while their supplies seem to diminish rapidly. On top of that they find that there are many enemies close by. See how they rise to overcome these obstacles.
Fabulous fast paced episode in my favourite ever series….. some chapters I’m always nervous to start cos you never know where it’s going to take you so you go through a whole range of emotions. Next please 😊
Once again Mr Artinian has out done himself. Book 13 of the Safe Haven series, still keeps us riveted through every page until the end. I always feel I am actually participating in the lives of our characters. Thank you.
It never ceases to amaze me how drawn I am to these characters. After all the books prior, I still cry, laugh and feel for them all. Even with the introduction of new characters, I still learn to love and sometimes dislike them too. Thanks for another good read!
This book was such a good read. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I had no clue what was going to happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book.
Loved it! Definitely recommend! I think it would be great to have some more of Mike and the whole clan but if that doesn’t happen then it will be ok!!!
Well Christopher, you’ve done it again. A powerful, emotional, and passionate fight to regain control over their safe place. Absolutely incredibly brilliant.
