So insightful for anyone who enjoys public history, Reconstruction, and all of the effort that goes into remaking a museum. I didn’t realize I didn’t yet know so much about one my favorite presidents (Wilson) to discuss and his connection to my home state of South Carolina. The sections that discussed training docents and revamping a historic house tour were so relevant and relatable as a museum professional who has managed volunteers in every role thus far. Now I really want to read the Wilson biography I’ve had since high school, the Anarchist’s Guide to Historic House Museums, and of course Wilson’s writings on Reconstruction.
