I honestly didn't think I'd love this book as much as I did. This isn't my first book by Chantal, and I haven't had any major complaints about her books in general. They're always easy to follow and short enough to stay engaged easily. Thief was no different. It's novella length, but there's so much character development and world building in it that it feels like a full length book!
We immediately meet Max and Viola. They've been best friends for most of their lives, and people often assume they're together... but they're JUST friends. That friendship never develops into more through the whole book,w hich is nice to see. We meet Dash soon after as he's scolding his little sister to go home and change out of a little skirt. Viola overhears and immediately cuts in to help her, assuming it's her boyfriend, not brother. Dash never lets her live that down, that's for sure, haha.
I wont' give away all the of the storyline, but something sad happens that intereferes with Viola and Dash's reltationship and results in Viola moving away with family. Later in the book, Viola and Dash find each other again and have a second chance for their romance.
This was such a cute novel, and I can't wait to read more by Chantal.
