After an exhausting day, a witch returns home, ready to recharge her power in her oasis.
Little does she know she's not alone. An irritating and enticing demon lies in wait, ready to collect his master's due.
But the witch won't go quietly, and he has more tricks up his sleeve than she realizes.
In this battle of wills, who will emerge victorious? The clever do-gooder or the incubus full of devious dreams?"Dreamshade" was featured in the Sinful Signings 2024 charity anthology.
What a lovely short read! The balance between the witch and demon was perfect. The battle of wills and determination, with a little bit of spice! This is a great pallet cleanser inbetween heavy reads! Cannot wait to read more for this author
J. Silverton definitely brought a touch of fantasy and a dash of spice to his first ever published short story. It's dark fantasy meets portal fantasy meets smut. Of course, I love a good demon. I almost always root for the villain. So, this one is right up my alley! 😉
Every witch gets their power from somewhere... but nothing comes for free.
I went into this story knowing very little (just the genre) but I was enthralled right away; Silverton builds a world in the first five pages that drew me in and kept me there until the (genuinely surprising) end. A great debut, and I am sure readers are waiting breathlessly for the next release.
I only have 1 question..... when is book 2. I love this short novella. It has everything u want in a novella. It has spicey the plot flows nicely. But now i need to know what happens to her once she go to the other realm.....
Short, sweet and spicy. My favorite things when reading a book. J. Silverton knocked it out of the park with his first book! I'm excited to see what he has for us next, and i want to know what happens next with our Witch and Incubus!!
A wonderful short story for his first published work! This short is a quick read, but not lacking in imagery. I'm excited to see more of J. Silverton's work!
This was not what I expected when I started this short story from an author just starting out. I have goosebumps in anticipation for his novel that he is presently working on. Big, big surprise at the end. The witch had a conundrum and had to figure it out. A riddle to solve, a flicker in the mind - and what you feel is happily ever after may not be what another may choose as their dream solution. Positively recommend this story to whoever wants to read something very different. Just read the story!!
