The An It’s Never Too Late Series, featuring Katelyn Took, was a journey with a friend. A woman I met on the pages, and who I grew very fond of. In the first book, Murder in the Meadow, on page five, paragraph two, Ruth Beauregard’s substantial backside made an appearance. Ruth found a place in the manuscript for a specific reason. She was there to offer a pivot, a little backstory, and the challenge Katie was later unable to turn aside. Ruth was supposed to stay for two-and-a-half pages, pick up her suitcase, and walk out the door. She never left.
