Rate this book
There are three types of games in the those that are played for fun, those that are played for a prize, and those that are played to stay alive.
For three decades, Julie has been the smartest person in every room. But when the elusive Storyteller- a serial killer who's evaded capture for over 40 years- chooses her as his next opponent, her intellect is put to the ultimate test.
The rules are seven moves to outsmart a killer or join his growing list of victims. Can Julie formulate a strategy and emerge victorious before the bodies pile up? Or will the Storyteller win yet again before retreating back into the shadows, evading capture as he's always done?
Despite his knack for slipping out of law enforcements grasp, the Storyteller's obsession with Julie and the secrets surrounding the truth of who she really is may just be his undoing.
They say God will never give you more than you can handle, but what if it isn't God who is testing you? What happens when you've been thrust into a deadly game with an opponent who rewrites the rules on a whim and plays on a board rigged in his favor?
Will Julie's brilliant mind be enough to save her? Can she outmaneuver a killer who's always been one step ahead, or will the Storyteller claim his most prized victory yet?
In this high-stakes battle of wits, the line between player and pawn blurs. When the game is survival, losing is not an option.

You turned me into a thriller fan

I loved it! I’m a romantasy reader but I do love a thriller now and then. This hit the spot!
The story is intriguing, the plot is thick. There’s so many suspects and I loved it. I did guess whodunnit early on, but because I’m stubborn I never changed my mind 😂 there’s so many good suspects that I was almost certain I was wrong a few times. If you love a descriptive well thought out story that has you questioning everything, this is for you!
