⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Finally, Peace Has Been Restored to My Chaotic Heart
The way the last book ended had me dramatically clutching my Kindle and yelling, “Ma’am, HOW COULD YOU?!” So when I say I sprinted to read this one—I mean it. And now? Now I can breathe again. I’ve been released from emotional cliffhanger purgatory.
This book picks up with chaos, tension, and one very stressful prison break. If book one was “let’s survive this madness,” book two is “run for your lives, try not to die, and maybe kiss if there’s time.” Spoiler: there’s barely time. These poor characters cannot catch a break—and honestly, I was stressed with them.
It’s fast-paced, a little action movie, a little soap opera, and a whole lot of “OH NO WHAT NOW.” I flew through it. Super entertaining, very angsty, and packed with high-stakes drama. It gave.
Now, if I had one tiny emotional wound left open, it’s this: WHERE WAS MY ROMANCE TIME?! I love these characters. I adore their bond. But I wanted more soft moments. More gazing. More smooches without the threat of death looming overhead. Just one breakfast scene, maybe??
Still, despite the lack of casual cuddling, this was a fantastic conclusion to the story. Fast, intense, and full of payoff. I’m happy. I'm whole. And I’m definitely keeping my eye on whatever Charlotta Page writes next—because clearly, she knows how to keep a girl on edge.
