Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

This comic contains Night of the Living Deadpool and Return of the Living Deadpool.

Deadpool is probably my favourite Marvel character (I doubt he qualifies as a superhero), so this comic was a treat for me. I really liked the story, I'm a fan of zombie culture (specially movies and series) and it was crazy how many references there were to other zombie-related stuff.

The story was specially good because instead of depicting the zombie apocalypse as a tragedy and making us readers feel sad or scared for the characters, there was a comedic element to it; because the apocalypse was told from the perspective of Deadpool, and the reader feels things through him, there was no place for tragedy or despair.

My favourite character (other than Deadpool of course) was Liz because she's a badass and I'm always a sucker for badass women. Her relationship with Wade was very endearing because he's often shown as having no feelings and in various scenes wr could see them hugging and showing they cared about one another.

One element I really liked was that when she zombies ate Deadpool they were transformed into Deadpolls, all united through their minds. This gave a nightmarish touch to the second half of the comic, in which the true danger wasn't zombies but Deadpools that enslaved humans and turned them into more Deadpools.

The saddest part of the story was when Wade sacrificed himself for humanity. Even though he dies at the end, I'm sure he'll find a way to come back to life and help Liz in the apocalypse.

60/100.
