Chorus is a best friends-to-lovers, mutual hurt/comfort MM romance, packed with steam and some angst.
Theo I was never a believer in love at first sight, until I took one look at Dante and my entire universe shifted under my feet. We met when I was nineteen at my audition for his band, and he made it clear he didn't want me there. Wary and guarded, he refused to let me in to his life, didn't want to get too close. He was closed off, suspicious of the world and stubborn enough to refuse to change... but guess who gets an A plus for persistence?
This guy, right here.
That was four years ago. Our band is on the national stage now, backed by a professional agent with a new album release that's promising success. Endless possibilities stand in front of us. But more important than that, Dante is my best friend in the entire world. He knows everything about me, and I... well, I know more about him than most. He's a mystery. An enigma. A puzzle I'm dying to solve. Years of pining have only made me fall harder, and I'm not-so-patiently waiting for the day he gives in to this insane attraction between us.
Some things are destiny. Meant to be. Kismet. Karma. Whatever you want to call it, that's what we are. All that's left is for him to understand it.
Dante
Control.
I need it. Crave it. Every aspect of my life is under perfect control, and no one and nothing takes it away from me. Not until this tiny, energetic man came crashing into my life, disrupting my balance with his giant blue eyes and troublemaker smile that never seemed to fade.
When Theo burst into that room four years ago, I was terrified of his easy laugh and loose posture. He opened up so effortlessly, and my history was too recent, too raw. Suspicion was my default mode with everyone, especially someone who had a pull that I couldn’t understand. He posed a threat to the carefully constructed control I had built my life around.
Ever since I laid eyes on him, he's been the very center of my world-the axis on which everything else turns. Over the years, he's never been discouraged, slowly chiseling away at my armor until I'm bare and exposed when he's around. He makes it sound so easy. Give in. Forget the control and just take what I want.
And God, how I want him.
But if I've learned anything, it's that life is never that simple. Unaware of how broken I really am, he’s the only one in my life who looks at me like I do no wrong. I can’t risk that—couldn’t stand to lose it. It's enough to have him in my life, to keep him as my best friend. It's enough to love him from afar.
G. Eilsel started writing under this pen name in early 2024, publishing works in two genres she loves: eccentric novellas and MM romance.
Her writing puts a focus on sarcasm, snarky humor, sometimes horrible puns, and steamy scenes that'll make your momma blush. Expect heavy spice, in any sort of variety you're looking for-sweet, emotional, depraved, or downright questionable.
Some of her books are one-handed reads with minimal plot, others are more intricate stories that weave themselves through her brain and demand to be put on paper. Angsty and emotional, light and giggle-inducing, and everything in between can be found between the covers of her books.
She doesn't take herself too seriously, throwing pieces of her humor and quirky personality in her writing. If she can't live up to her title of a One-Handed author, then maybe she can at least make you smile.
I really enjoyed book 1 of this series so I was happy to dive right in to this one.
I absolutely loved Theo and his banter!! Dante is such a loveable guy and my heart broke for what he went through. Theo was definitely made for Dante and you can see that throughout the book.
My only issue now is that I have to wait for the next book!!
When the opening line is “There’s only one difference between a spit-roast and an Eiffel Tower, and it’s all in the lips, baby.” you just know you’re in for a wild ride.
I was constantly shifting between “awww..so sweet🥰” to “awww, my heart😭” to “OH. MY. GAWD.🥵” {iykyk, her spicy scenes •NEVER• disappoint!}
With this one, it’s sort of a slow burn feel, since the only physical intimacy is kissing for just shy of half the book BUTTTT ^^reasons^^ and there is so much yummy tension that it doesn’t even matter. 🤤However, we do get to experience Theo’s ~relentless~ flirting in the meantime.🤭😝
Theo:: 🥹 You perfect specimen of a human being. Just literal sunshine & rainbow unicorns 🌈🦄 🤭 Ugh, he is utter perfection.
“We are inevitable… you know that, don’t you? You feel it? This is a battle that doesn’t want to be fought, Dante—one that doesn’t have any winners. There are no survivors, no grand victory. At the end of this, it’s just you and me. It’s always going to be you and me.”
I mean COME ONNN..😍🫠 Just swoon.
And Dante:: You amazing stoic mountain of a man you! He has such a painful past but Theo brings out the light in him and in return he loves Theo unconditionally and it’s beautiful.
“Let me give you everything you deserve. Please? You are my entire fucking world, and I want somewhere that’s ours. I want to get married, and drive each other crazy every single day, and grow old together…”
😭😭😭😭
Together they are the perfect pairing. Ying & yang. ☯️ 🤪Silly & brooding😒
And then there’s Wante 💦🪣 💀💀💀💀

I was skeptical going in, because I wasn't sure if anything could beat the high that I got from reading the first book, but this one held its own in a completely different way. Whereas Eric and Dmitri's story was fueled by the hate that Eric felt, the story between Theo and Dante runs on pure, unabashed love.
Dante's struggle to accept love was relatable after what happened to him in his past, and Theo's constant insistence that he was perfect just as he was... beautiful. It's rare to see a larger guy portrayed in MM romance, and although his insecurity wasn't a huge focus of the story, it made it that much more real. I lived for the casual touches and snuggles, the stolen kisses, even when they weren't 'together' yet.
This author just gets my sense of humor, because the snark and wit is top-tier, without being over the top on every single page. It's funny in a way that actually made me laugh out loud a few times, finding a way to make some rather serious subject matter lighter while not avoiding it.
Theo and Dante had captured my attention in book one, and I absolutely loved getting to jump into their relationship.
As expected, Theo was fun and flirty and goofy, and his unwavering devotion to Dante was so sweet to read. He was the perfect mixture of emo rocker boy mixed with a femboy that loved his lace and lingerie.
And Dante... I always knew there was more beneath the surface, but to understand his story and the pain he went through. The two of them together were absolute perfection. No angst between them, just the two of them battling the world together.
The steam was, as expected, out of this world. It was also fun getting to be a part of Eric and Dmitri’s world, even though they weren't the focus of the book.
Overall, I feel like this book had one message. Love is enough. And with these two, it always will be.

It’s been a hot minute since I read book one (First Verse) but I loved that book and this book so easy to just dive back into the world like I never left.
Theo has been trying to get Dante to date him since they first met, but it doesn’t have those tedious unrequited vibes. It’s lighthearted and sassy. I’m so here for their banter, Theo is definitely a sassy little spitfire.
It was great to follow their journey and not only the growth in their story but learn mode about their characters.
Plus we of course get more Dmitri and Eric which I loved, i still think they might be my faves. Even though I enjoyed this book
Loved the fun and flirty flavor of Dante and Theos' story. The sexual tension between these two has always been off the charts. Dante has been fighting their attraction for years. With persistence, Theo finally gets him to give in. We learn about Dantes terrible history, which explains his need for control.
The turbulent relationship between these two is threatened from the start from an outside problem.
I'm not sure how it was possible to be sexier than the first novel, but... it happened. I really loved Theo and Dante. I love the playfulness this author demonstrates between the characters in this book and the last book. I'm not sure I've ever seen that in the same way in other books. This was almost a slow burn, but when they did it... 🥵... the gym 😳. This is a great series. I'm looking forward to Tais book. 😊
Oh Theo you adorable wee imp! How much I love you and your protector!! This book is so emotive and beautifully written. It treads on sensitive topics with care whilst not playing them down. You feel what the characters feel and it makes you love them all the more because of it!! Could not recommend this book and this author more!
3.5-4 ⭐️ it was good but for some reason I just wasn’t reaching for it. Everything seemed done early on.. the I love you’s, tons of sex, no angst anymore.. I didn’t know why I needed to keep reading? Just decided to stop at 81%. Book wasn’t bad but ended sooner than the actual end for me.
This story was freaking intense at times! Holy crap! It isn't every often that the plot is more interesting than the spice for most books, but damn was I hooked! The spice was still fire! But this book was freaking great!
