Ahhh! I loved this. More of Red and Octavia? Yes, please, sign me up! This is a short and spicy novella that’s set before House of Crimson Hearts but I would highly recommend you read House of Crimson Hearts first, before this one. There is another short and spicy novella set in this world called House of Crimson Spice, I would read that once you’ve completed the series!
I tandem read this with the audio, that is amazingly recorded by Ruby Roe herself! You can purchase this on her website 😍 she did an amazing job! Loved every second.

Written in first person with 2x POV’s. Vampire/Hunter. 3x Spicy Scenes.

I absolutely loved the sapphic intimacy shared between Red and Octavia. It was refreshing to see their connection portrayed through a tender and affectionate lens, especially in contrast to the rage Red grapples with in other books. Octavia’s decision to cast herself as the villain to protect Red’s mindset added a heartbreaking depth to their dynamic, making their earlier moments of sweetness even more poignant.

Absolute 5⭐ if you've already read the books, it's meant to be read before the series but I think it's enjoyed better if you already know and love the characters.

Great little prequel Nouvella that gave some back story to the two main FMC's.
It cleared up some little points that were made in the 1st book, but I wouldn't say it was a 'must read' as I don't think you lose any plot points, but a "nice to have".
