Welcome to the Dragon Realm of Savra, where young dragons, known as Small Flames, compete in the yearly Fire Ridge Tournament to become Valor Dragons. Who will win? Who will be defeated? Each Small Flame has a different story!
Kyli is a prismatic dragon. She is multi-colored, and she has the abilities of many kinds of dragons. She can breathe fire, ice, and acid! Kyli wants to be a Valor Dragon, and with all her breath weapons, she is a skilled fighter. However, Kyli sometimes gets upset when things aren't "fair." Is she worrying too much about it? Will worrying about fairness get in Kyli's way when she competes in the arena? Find out in this chapter book adventure for kids!
This illustrated chapter book is recommended for ages 6 to 10.
Simple stories, good messages, a lot of redundancy
I read these stories to my seven year old twin boys, they liked them but would have been more appropriate for them to read on their own. As a parent I prefer to read them stories with a more advanced vocabulary and more complex story lines so we can discuss words and human interactions. These stories are very redundant and overly simple for my taste but probably great for 6-8 year old kids to read to themselves.
This is to A.M.Luzzader; Thank you for listening to my mom and I. I definitely did NOT expect you were going to make any Dragon like the prismatic Dragon though. If you make future books for Small Flames I wish you good luck! From: Maddox
I put the review on the top. Like I said, good luck! Thank you for doing this. I was sooooooooo bored I was SO happy to see these books.
Kyli is competing in the Fire Ridge tournament and is worried about everything being fair. She has more abilities than most of the other dragons, but doesn't seem to realize that according to the way she wants things, that may not be fair! With a little help from a competition judge, Kyli is able to see sometimes "fair" is in how you look at things.
Kyli learned that not everything is fair for everyone everywhere.
She needs to not get upset over things she cannot control, sometimes there are accidents. She learned to stop and think, to pick her battles before getting mad.
I liked the way the author presented the lesson to be learned. It is not always easy to teach certain characteristics to children. Luzzader finds the way for children to figure it out on their own with a few examples. That is a great teacher!
