Astoria Bardot is Alamea’s most adored member of upper society. Only daughter to the Chief of Police, she’s spent the most part of her life living in luxury. But below the pearl-clad, old-money appearance captured on the cameras is a girl who no longer believes her father is the saint he once was, and the more she uncovers, the further away she strays from the girl she’s been carved into against her will.
Nothing in Astoria’s life has ever been her choice and it’s about time she took back that control.
Lorenzo Santoni is a brutal mafia boss who cares for nothing but the success and continuous growth of his ‘business’.
When a one-night stand goes awry, his entire life could be compromised and he becomes determined to destroy the girl who manages to sneak out of his house undetected before she tears his already broken world apart.
But what if the innocent blonde he picked up in the bar has her own bloodstained secrets? What if she wants to destroy someone, just not him?
This is the second book I have read by Summer Paige. She writes fantastic romance, but this book also had an incredible amount of action and violence. It was well written, fast paced and the characters had depth and understanding of one another through their losses. Great twist on the last page that makes me want to read the next book in this series!
Loved this mafia romance so much, fantastic plot, amazing characters, creative twists, and so much banter, spice and tension. Astoria is a badass, she's tracking down her friends killer in secret, and has a range of interesting skills at her disposal to help in her hunt for vengeance. Mob boss Lorenzo wasn't expecting to meet his match, but that's exactly what happened when he meets Astoria at a bar, and their paths become intertwined. Also the side characters, Luca made me laugh so much - I love his sassy attitude, and his fun bond with Astoria. This book has characters you will absolutely love, and ones you will undoubtedly despise. Loved the action, stabbyness, mystery elements, and the sexual tension between Tori and Enzo. It covered lots of dark themes, there's death, violence and trauma, but the humour and sass made it comforting. You need to read this book! Can't wait for more from the Santori family.
💀"Oh what, because I'm a woman I can't beat the shit out of a man?"
💀"Drop the hypermasculine douchebag attitude because it's not having the fear-mongering effect you want it to have"
💀"Now, remove the knife from my throat before I put it through yours"
💀"God isn't going to help you anymore, Angel. You're in my hands now"
💀"I'm so in love with her that it might be my undoing"
💀"You make me crazy, Astoria. Out of my mind, lock me in an asylum, crazy"
I got this ARC from the amazing author and I went into this book completely blind. Not knowing anything about it. I was absolutely hooked. I love tori and I actually can’t get over her and the things she does. She’s honestly such a badass and I love that she’s so LETHAL. Enzo OMG Enzo is literally everything. The best mafia boss and will do anything to protect tori. I absolutely loved how they met and their hatred to lovers storyline had me in a chokehold. I love how they worked together to get revenge. And I have to give a special mention to Luca who is quite possibly one of the best side characters ever. I can’t believe this ended on a cliffhanger and I need book 2 like NOW 🤣
Okaaaaay gimmie the next book now 🙂↕️ but firstly thank you to the beautiful author for trusting me to read/review your book 😙 I instantly fell in love with this book, it has the perfect mix of humour and dark themes that makes it just so amazing to read. I’m crying one second then dying from hysterics the next. That plot twist really twisted because WHAT?!! I have found comfort in Luca so don’t you hurt him! 🫵
“A lethal Angel.”
My final rating is a 3.75 ⭐️ but rounded up to a 4 ⭐️ because honestly this book deserves it. There was one minor part of the book I was slightly bored, but it picked back up almost instantly and I was invested again. I liked Lucas nickname (Menace) more than I liked Enzos (Angel) for Tori. Now we’re the nicknames overused, yes. Do I care, no! It was so adorable and cute I don’t care!!
I really really loved this book!!! Maybe a 4.5 at a push for me i found it to be so so engaging and unique (especially for such a popular genre). It was such an unpredictable book that left me consistently desperate to read on and I absolutely loved the dynamic between Astoria and Lorenzo. The slowburn relationship was impeccable and the eventual epilogue was so beautifully written (as was the entire book). I especially loved the empowered female main character and the independence she withheld despite her being in Lorenzo's domain for a large proportion of the book. I feel like the book was largely centred on the pair and some side characters forgotten/in need of more fleshing out (justice for Astoria's girls...I will never recover..). Overall this was such an interesting read and I love a mafia romance with a plot!!!! P.S the smut was really good if a little beyond my comfort zone at times but I'm happy they're happy
When police chief's daughter, Astoria Bardot, meets savage mafia boss Lorenzo Santoni, sparks fly and stars collide. Enzo has no idea who Tori is or how she managed to sneak out of his house unseen. A delicious detective game ensues, but Tori is no easy prey.
The author's second book is an engrossing, well-written, fast-paced read with a gloriously badass, and a tad twisted, FMC. Enzo matches Tori in strides; he's hard as nails but has a tiny soft centre that is just for Tori. The dual POV made for insightful reading, and you really get to know and care about each character with this method.
Luca is an absolute joy of a character, and his banter with Tori is delightful. There is humour amongst the darker moments (don't mention the chickens!) and this offers a breath of light relief. The romance is super slow burn, full of emotional and sexual tension that you know will lead to spicy fireworks. I am so invested in these characters, at the end of the book, I was desperate to know what happens next!
Lethal is the second book by author Summer Paige. I was lucky enough to be an arc reader for this book thank you so much to the author for allowing me to be an arc reader. The book follows Astoria a female serial Killer on her journey for vengeance. I really enjoyed the first book in this duet I am really excited for book 2 in this series. I did not see the ending coming whatsoever, i am so intrigued to see how book 2 follows on from this point. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between the FMC and MMC develop as well as some of the friendships!
That was an absolute rollercoaster of a read, but my god was it propulsive. I think I read Lethal almost in one sitting, the pace of it was that good. It felt like there was always a new drama going on in the story, always another heartbreak or plot twist that made the book unputdownable. But let’s go into more detail on the elements. Firstly, Tori was an absolute badass bitch. That woman had been through everything and then some before the book even began, and then the book itself took it another step further. But the way she held herself and fought back and plotted and schemed her way through murdering those awful men was amazing. Tori was the epitome of female rage and “I support women’s wrongs”, and I loved it. But I also really appreciated that she wasn’t a robot. When shit went wrong, she felt it and she was hurt by it and sometimes, it broke her for a moment. I liked that she had that dimension. As for Enzo, I was a little bit more confused by him. He didn’t seem to like a single person in his gang, and his history was a little more unclear. His family trauma and other elements of his relationships with people were mentioned, but I don’t think he had as much depth as a character as Tori did. But damn was he sexy. He absolutely worshipped Tori, even if he went about it in completely the wrong way at the beginning of the story. I liked their relationship and how it really took time to build that trust between them. I think it was at least 60% into the book before their romance properly kicked off, which I was glad of because it massively built the tension between them and also gave more time for that relationship status change from hate to love to feel more authentic. I think my only gripe with them was the announcement at the end of the book, as it related to the next generation of their family. It did feel a little random to chuck it in there, and I reckon the epilogue could’ve happened the same way, without that reveal being made on-page beforehand. Finally, the plot of this story was wild. Like I said, there was always something crazy or dramatic or dark happening that would propel you through the story. I don’t think this book really had quieter moments, so for a character and plot based reader like me, that was perfect. I don’t think this book was perfect in terms of the writing - there were errors in sentence structure that took me out of the story a little bit. But I think it was 100% a great time and I pretty much couldn’t put it down as I was reading it. It absolutely broke my heart at times, but I can’t wait to see where the big twist at the end takes the sequel.
Tropes: 💀enemies to lovers 💀mafia 💀age gap 💀he falls first (and harder) 💀touch her and 💀 💀knife play 💀"who did this to you" 💀she's on her vigilante sh*t 💀one night stand 💀found family
astoria badot may look like your normal, socialite, perfect daughter of the chief of police, but she's harboring a secret, and a desperate desire to control her own destiny. when she happens to cross paths with Mafia boss, Lorenzo santoni, he's all curious on what this picture perfect girl could be hiding.
I utterly DEVOURED this book! there were parts I definitely should not have been laughing at, but peep me giggling, crying, and screaming while reading this. don't believe me? check my DM's with summer lol.
I loved how much of a bad*ss fmc Astoria was. really trying to push her way to making her own destiny, not under the thumb of her dad and his protege. and the fact that she was doing everything that she did directly under her father's nose? honestly iconic hahaha.
and my Lorenzo bb. what a mmc. taking over the business so young but being able to juggle it all, while being a good cousin to Luca. what an unexpected hero we got out of Luca. I love him!! and hopefully book 2 is his story 👀👀👀
Astoria and Lorenzo's relationship was so fun. I don't even know how to best describe it. the banter was amazing, their interactions full of tension and sincerity. I loved how protective Lorenzo was over Astoria, and how much she resisted at every turn, almost making him prove his worth, support, and devotion to her.
the side characters are really what made the book for me. seeing the platonically intimate relationships that Astoria had with the girls and Luca and Lorenzo and Luca's growing relationship, really helped to round out the dialogue.
and the plot??? OHMIGOSH THE PLOT. while some of the plot twists I saw coming from a mile away, others??? GURLLLL nawrrrrr!!!!
thanks to summer for the eARC of lethal! I cannot WAIT for book 2 in the duet! (same universe, but a standalone from lethal)
4.5 ⭐️Wow! I was really impressed with this story! I haven't read a mafia romance before but had been considering checking some out. If you are interested in trying out the genre, I think this would be a great starting place.
The plot was great and really had me hooked. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like the story because Astoria kind of gave off spoiled princess vibes, but boy, was I wrong. She was so badass, and I was like, hell yeah, you take justice in your own hands, girl! That girl is definitely a Gemini with her multiple personalities. I don't know what Enzo was talking about 😂
Great banter between multiple characters that really adds some humor within a pretty heavy story.
Honestly, the only thing I can say that I didn't like was overuse of the pet name. I don't mind pet names, but I think it may have been used too much for my liking. I was like, is her name Angel or Astoria ? Outside of that, great read and highly recommend.
He falls first Soft only for her Who did this to you Spice 🌶 🌶-🌶🌶🌶 Forced proximity Age gap (24-31)
Check trigger warnings if that's important to you. "God isn't going to help you anymore, Angel. You're in my hands now."
“A funny joke would have been something that made me laugh. ” My mouth opens at his abrupt response, and he reaches over and gently closes it. “Y ou’ll have your mouth open plenty when we get somewhere private. Don’t tire it out now. ”
"Now, remove the knife from my throat before I put it through yours.' He adds a little pressure, and the psycho in me smirks.
"Show them exactly who you are, Angel. They'll be watching those cameras in there tonight. Make sure the girl they see is my girl. Strong, unrelenting, and downright lethal."
I did receive this as an advanced reader copy, but my thoughts are entirely my own. Thank you to the author.
✨A R C R E V I E W✨ Title: Lethal Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Really want to thank Summer Paige for this amazing opportunity! I’m so grateful for the chance to read Lethal as an ARC! As always my thoughts and opinions are all my own!
Oh my god, where do I even begin! I am literally still reeling from this one… and in the best way possible!
I loved that Astoria and Lorenzo started out as enemies to lovers, one of my favourite tropes to read and these nailed it perfectly! I loved how strong and badass she was as a character and how solid and protective he was!
As a lover of mafia romance this had everything I needed and wanted along with so much more! There was so much suspense with many twists that kept me interested and had me hooked from the very beginning, many leaving me shocked and very surprised! But that is what I loved, the unexpectedness that I really didn’t know what was going to happen next until I turned the page over.
I say Astoria is badass and I mean that completely, she goes through so much in this book and continues to be so strong with the support of Lorenzo always being by her side! She too kills just like Lorenzo and she does it from the goodness of getting rid of bad people, the scum that tarnish and take from the less powerful and most innocent.
I love a nickname as I’m sure you know and are not at all surprised! He would call her angel from their first interaction which I really loved and while it annoyed her at first she definitely accepted it in the end! I also love the fact that she would call him Enzo and was the only one he would let call him that!
Lorenzo definitely fell first and harder, being so protective of her and essentially each other’s rock throughout the entire book. Seeing him be all like “who hurt you” got me all in the feels and had me all excited and squealing!
I loved the ending and epilogue, it was the perfect way to finish this story beautifully! I’m so excited for the second part of this duet, I’ll be patiently waiting!
I advise you to definitely read all trigger warnings before starting this one so you can then decide to continue!
Lethal releases 27th September!❤️

I bought this about two years ago and have only just got around to reading it. I know the author updated Lethal since I got my copy so please read this review with that in mind.
I love a revenge story so I enjoyed reading Lethal. Tori is a great character (yes, there's a but coming), I liked the opening set up, loved the cast of characters around Enzo. Loved that Enzo and his crew had her back. Loved Summer Paige's writing.
What made this not a 5* read are these points: - For the type of character she is, the things she did, the things she was capable of doing, Tori should have been older. She's the 24-year-old society daughter of a famous politician. I could not reconcile this person being I loved that she was, don't get me wrong, but her age was a bum note for me.
- some editing challenges for me, in particular, in how dialogue was structured. I often had to re-read sentences because I was confused about which character's dialogue I was reading. I did get used to it in the end but it made the book a slow start for me.
- Finally: We didn't find out!!!!
The latest version of Lethal may have addressed some of the above. Regardless, this is a good read and you'll have fun reading it 😊["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Okay, let's talk about this mafia romance because I devoured it! We're talking fantastic plot, amazing characters, and twists you won't see coming, all wrapped up in a delicious package of banter, spice, and tension.
Astoria is a total badass – she's on a secret mission to avenge her friend's killer, and she's got some seriously impressive skills to get the job done. She's not your typical socialite, and I loved that about her. Then there's Lorenzo, the mob boss who wasn't expecting to meet his match. But when he crosses paths with Astoria, sparks fly, and their lives become entangled in the most captivating way. And can we talk about the side characters? Luca is hilarious! His sassy attitude and bond with Astoria added so much to the story. This book is packed with characters you'll absolutely adore (and some you'll love to hate). It's got action, it's got suspense, it's got a healthy dose of "stabbiness," and the sexual tension between Astoria and Lorenzo is off the charts. It delves into some dark themes, but the humor and sass keep it from being too heavy. Trust me, you need to read this book! It's not your typical mafia romance; it's got its own unique flavor that sets it apart. The chemistry between Astoria and Lorenzo is boiling, and the plot twists will leave you reeling. Get ready to be obsessed!
Lethal is a dark romance that had me hooked from the start. This book delivers with great tension, giggle inducing banter, breath holding moments, and so so much steamy passion. Theres twists that made me unable to stop reading, I just HAD to know what happens. The relationship between intense mafia boss Lorenzo and Astoria, the socialite daughter of the chief of police is one that burns and burns. Astoria has her secrets and is not afraid to take matters into her own hands. Lorenzo’s only care is his empire, although he might be realizing there’s more than business to care about.
So if you’re into a mafia boss who will do absolutely anything for his girl, a total baddie of a woman, and into experiencing a wild ride of a dark romance that’ll make you feel it all. This is the one for you.
Best part? Book two, Survival, comes soon so we can know what happens after this ending 🥹
I really enjoyed this! I loved Astoria & Lorenzo’s entire relationship.
I forgot about the chicken content warning until we got that scene, and it was hilarious.
Straight up spoilers for the ending:
.
Rowan & her father died way too easily. Their suffering should have been drawn out much longer. And I wish we had gotten to learn about the aftermath. Did the public learn how corrupt and awful Rowan and Russell were? Or does everyone think it’s just tragic? I wanted to see their empire fall. And for her friends to get some kind of justice. And Astoria was missing for quite a chunk of time. Did that get explained? And who drugged Lorenzo?

I loved this book. It's a perfect mix of romance, spice and a good plot. I love that Tory the FMC is a total badass who seeks revenge for women and herself who have been treated badly or killed by men. I love the relationship and dynamic between the FMC and MMC, the banter and spice is so so good. Enzo is the perfect MMC he's a sexy but lethal mob boss but is so soft for Tory. Summer Paige has created the perfect book boyfriend. If you love mafia romance, bad ass FMC and swoon worthy MMC you have to read this book. It ends on a cliffhanger too so you will need books 2.
BY SUMMER PAIGE I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! LORENZO MIGHT POSSIBLY BE THE SWEETEST MAFIA BOSS I'VE EVER READ! HIS DEVOTION TO TORI WAS 'CHEFS KISS.' THE STORY WAS INTERESTING, THE WRITING WAS BRILLIANT. I LOVED THE SIDE CHARACTERS TOO. LORENZO WAS TOP NOTCH MAFIA BOOK BOYFRIEND! TORI WAS LETHAL! REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES!
Ok, I won’t lie to you, I went into this book completely blind. All I knew was Mafia that was it, I knew nothing else. So let me tell you the way my jaw hit the floor when Astoria’s side quest was revealed - it was a picture!!!
I loved that Lorenzo fell hard and fast and while he tried to deny his feelings it was never going to last.
The twists and turns kept me guessing and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Luca was a stand out and I couldn’t wait to read his book next.
🖤Mafia Romance 🔪Serial unaliver FMC 🍆Spice 🔥Haters to Lovers 💥Revenge ❌No 3rd act break up 💞 He falls first and SO DAMN HARD
Lethal is the first book of the Santorni duet by Summer Paige
Tropes :
• Mafia Romance • Enemies to Lovers • Forced Proximity • Dual POV • Knife to Throat • Who did this to you • He falls first & Hard • No THIRD-ACT breakup
There's nothing I wouldn't do to befriend Astoria if she was real. Because that women is perfect. Astoria is easily one of my top Main Characters. Lorenzo is a very likeable character even though he has this don't fuck with me aura surrounding him. Put them both together, it's DELICIOUS. I've been on a very long search for a mafia romance that has strong FMC and this book satiated my needs perfectly. Obsessed is an understatement for what I feel towards these both. Luca is cherry on the cake. This book didn't feel like the regular mafia romance - no offense I eat them up too. This book was just the right of story, character building, romance, plot twists. Everything about this book is my absolute favourite. The chemistry was boiling over the pot with these two. Relating to Astoria to a tiny part - that's had a huge impact on her life, mine too made me feel so understood in a way. Grievance is something a lot of times misinterpreted but here according to me was done perfectly. All in all I love them. If you love me, you should read this.
My FIRST ARC review and I’m so glad it was this one! It was my first dark romance book and now…well I want more!
Following the story of Astoria, a fierce FMC whom has her own priorities, and Lorenzo, a badass mob boss who never lets anyone see past his hard exterior…or does he?!
I loved that Astoria was not a damsel in distress, she can hold her own. And that she does whilst she seeks to avenge her friend’s death and learn the harsh truths about those she thought she could trust around her. Lorenzo is also a strong MMC but done in such a way that doesn’t once distract or overpower Astoria and I LOVE that! And I’m always a sucker for the ‘who did this to you’ trope.
Lethal also has such beautiful found family vibes, friends who stand the test of time and love that is prominent but not gushed about every 5 seconds.
Please take note of the trigger warnings but PLEASE don’t let that deter you.
This is a goodie guys, please get your copy ASAP!
Big thanks to @summerpaige.author for the privilege of reading this cracker of a book early! And big congrats - I am always in awe of those who can write a novel!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- an amazing dark romance with amazing twists and an absolutely incredible story line!!
🖤 Dual POV 🖤 Dark Romance 🖤 Mafia boss 🖤 Serial Killer 🖤 Touch her you die 🖤 He falls first 🖤 Spicy romance 🖤 Emotional plot twists 🖤 Chickens 🐥🐥🐥
I cannot express my love for this book enough. The story line was absolutely incredible and I loved the characters immensely.
I went into this book completely blind. I tried not to read too much about it because I thought I was prepared for the shocks. Emotionally I was not ready.
Lorenzo is my new boyfriend…. Sorry Summer but he’s mine 😂 The haters to lovers aspect of the relationship was EVERYTHING. I was getting butterflies!! His obsession with Tori was everything and I loved reading their relationship and their development.
Astoria’s character development was amazing. With an amazing support system her character develops into a Lethal force of nature filled with love and revenge.
My love for Luca is so strong. He was a delight and added so much fun into the story. His character development was also amazing and seeing him grow and become a support system and friend to Tori was amazing!! He was everything she needed.
The story is so well written and had me on the edge of my seat throughout. So many plot twists leaving me unable to put the book down and actually begging to know more.
Ending in a cliff hanger has left me destroyed…. I need book 2 like now!!
I cannot express my gratitude enough to Summer not only for this ARC but also for her support through my emotional journey whilst reading.

I've just finished reading Lethal and was blown away at how amazing it was. So many good twists and turns and at some points I had to put it down to gather my thoughts before continuing.
Astoria is a fantastic character who takes on Lorenzo so perfectly and their slow burn is just wonderful to read. The back story for both of them is well thought out and the side characters are beautifully written too, I adore Luca.
I would 100% recommend reading it, as soon as I finished the book I handed it to my sister and told her that she needs to read it.
