I am Romeo Descalia, a member of one of the most notorious mafia families in the South. But I'm also an attorney. In my world, there’s a fine line between loving the law and breaking it. A line I walk every damn day to protect my family at all costs. When I meet Julianna, my father's new attorney, I feel fire for the first time in my life. Only I’m forbidden to be with her. After years of following the famiglia's rules, I refuse to stand down this time because I know she belongs to me. But if I follow my heart will the price be too high? Romeo is a standalone Mafia Romance with alpha males who will do everything and anything to protect the women they love. Romeo is Book One of the Dark Legends Mafia Romance series with HEAs that will have you craving a mafia man of your own!
DNF this book definitely CANNOT be read as a standalone even tho it says it can. Honestly this story was just so confusing and there were wayyyyy too many names involved. Also I feel like Romeo was a bystander in his own book.
Captivating read, wonderful action with the Walkers and Descalia’s saving lives and falling in love This is another book that continues the Walker Saga and I have to say that this was a simply captivating read and I guarantee that once you begin reading it is impossible to stop and you just have to keep on going until you reach the end and discover the outcome…You will not be disappointed!! Romeo was in Legends book and I have to say that this was a story that had me on the edge of my seat and pay attention, the MC member Legend is in fact the long not seen son and brother to Romeo and son to the notorious Mafia leader Stephano Descalia who are all part of the same extended family and their allegiance to family is everything. Romeo is an attorney who works for his father and he is more than a little taken with an attorney Julianna that has been brought in to assist with some business deals, he has also taken an interest in her professionally since seeing her in action. He has seen her firsthand dealing with some very disturbing cases including his own family members and he has been nothing but impressed with her professional and cut throat perseverance that ensures she never leaves any stone unturned. I do not want to spoil the plot of this story as there is a lot happening but you will be impressed at the way Juliette helps the families recover Jarret who had been kidnapped by Octavia and Deacon and then had been held for ransom. When The Walkers and the Descalia’s had set about rescuing him they had found more than the ever could have bargained for. I guarantee that you will be blown away by this book and will be left looking forward to the next book in this simply fantastic series.
Lily you are amazing!!! Romeo and Julianna's story starts just after the Requiem MC series featuring the Texas walkers. If you haven't had a chance to read any of Lily's books best thing to do it to start at the very beginning and go from there as there will be Rebel Saint's, Walker's and Mancini all mentioned. Bones Rebel Saint's Holbeck chapter is from the very beginning. Ok ok now Romeo and Julianna's story is amazing! Romeo Descalia is son and Attorny for his Mafia father Stepheno and Descalia Corp. Julianna was hired my Mr Descalia after her work with Mancini and somehow found her self in the middle of the Walker and Descalia feud with Deacon and his sister V. Julianna has her own motives for helping the families. Romeo has wanted Julianna since the first moment they met but thinks she isn't attracted to him. Julianna has also wanted Romeo from the beginning after a case of mistaken identity but she doesn't date those she works with or clients family member. Romeo is funny, intelligent, sexy and has heart. Julianna's and brilliant, beautiful and fierce in her own right and a strategist at that. With the Walker's, Rebel Saint's and Descalia with the help of Julianna can they finally put this war behind them? With everyone get their HEA or will things take a turn no one expected. Come see into the world of the Descalia Mafia family you won't be disappointed. The family is funny, strong and protective and this book being the first makes you anxious for the next read. Happy Reading all.
A gritty, captivating and entertaining read that I just could not put down. Romeo is an attorney for his father’s business, his father Stephano Descalia, is the Don of one of the most notorious mafia families, Julieanna has been hired by Stephano as an attorney for some matters for the family company, based on a recommendation from another mafia Don, Mancini she had done some work for, Stephano had also researched her and was incredibly impressed with her intelligence, her tenacity and her ferocious determination in court. Romeo had met her when she had worked for Mancini and he was mesmerised by her beauty, wit and intelligence, unknown to him Julianna was also attracted to Romeo. When Stephano introduces Romeo and his brother Dante to his new attorney Julianna, Romeo couldn’t believe his eyes. However, Julianna made it clear she did not date clients or their families. Smouldering looks at each other during the meeting though, led Romeo to think he had a chance, and a chance he did have! Their growing relationship was hot, steamy, romantic and quite funny at times but Julianna had a secret she hadn’t shared, will this damage their relationship, what about the rest of the family ? She knew she had to tell him but when? There are many twists, deep dark secrets, lies, guilt, kidnapping, murder, arson, torture, strategy, strength, family love and a tantalising ending looking towards the next book Dante!
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book via BookFunnel and I am writing this review voluntarily
Ok, first off can I just say that the cover of this book is gorgeous! Just had to get that squirrel moment out of the way. Romeo is a continuation of the Walker Saga and it’s a wonderful addition to the series. We met Romeo in Legend’s book and he definitely piqued my interest. Seems that MC member Legend is actually the prodigal son of a Mafia leader and he has several brothers, luckily for us…more stories, and Romeo is one of those brothers. Romeo is an attorney who works for his father. Fortunately, his father brings in Julianna, also an attorney, to help with some business deals and she ends up getting in the middle of Walker family dealings. That’s all I’m giving up. Romeo and Julianna…yes they all get the inside joke…are great. We only get insight to one other brother, Dante, and he’s going to be fun too I have a feeling but I loved Romeo. He is funny, or at least he thinks he is which in itself is pretty funny, kind, compassionate and he’s head over heels for Julianna. Julianna is intelligent, sort of nerdy but an incredibly brilliant strategist…which comes in handy. As with the other books in this series of stories, there are a lot of twists and turns and mystery galore…and it’s pretty sexy and funny to boot. Dante’s story is next and I can’t wait! We’re eventually going to run out of Walkers, but not anytime soon I hope.
The mafia have joined forces with the Walkers and continues with the war perpetrated by Deacon against the family. Deacon has finally been captured and Romeo's father has him under lock and key...what should he do with him? Julianna enters the scene and finds herself appointed his Counsel. A quick mind and a quick wit. In the main we see the relationship between a new couple developing throughout the storyline. She has a secret, but also a fear, which she cannot actually confirm. As the problem with Deacon continues, saving Jarrett Walker is a priority. The whole family is caught up with it and Julianna has been drawn in. There are a lot of revelations and drama surrounds them all. There is the truth regarding Deacon and his mother's killing spree, new and further discovery. I thought it was all exciting riding the crest of a wave as things were revealed...but as I was hoping for Deacon to get his just desserts, the tide turns. The ending is surprising as it is the opposite of what could be expected. All too easy it would seem, as the author draws out and ignites the fires once more to keep up the suspense.
Romeo had his hands full with Julianna, she being a lawyer for the opposite side and they wasn't supposed to associate but they did.I like the story and it was intense, but I was a little confused with their names and when they use street names I got lost but please don't let that from enjoying the story because I plan on reading Dante's story with Delta. From what I could gather Julianna had a twin who was kidnapped when they were five but she was past off has Declan 's sister but the name change has V.So when Julianna was first around Romeo 's family they took her has V,because she was a dead ringer.Declan's mother was O who killed the girls nanny when they were around five so she could get hired on has the nanny then she was able to snitch Julianna 's sister and change her name and past her off has Declan 's sister.V didn't realize that O wasn't her mother and she killed so many people and many more things. But there is a ton more of the story,it does keep you on your edge of your chair!
Wow, what a page turner. Be prepared to lose a little sleep because once you start reading, you won’t be able to put this book down. My heads still spinning trying to keep all the family members straight. Walker’s everywhere and they kept multiplying. This is the first book in the new Mafia Romance series Dark Legends. It won’t take you long to get emotionally involved with Julianna and Romeo. Love at first sight, explosive chemistry and an HEA for them/ Lots of surprises, twists and secrets to keep you guessing. Well written with a strong, complex story line and well defined characters. This book has it all, murder, arson, kidnapping, lies, identity theft and more. A little teaser at the end for Dante, the second book in the series. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Changing For a Forever Love - This is an enchanting tale about two lawyers who find themselves trying navigating the treacherous mafia world, as they balance their legal and ethical obligations with their personal and family safety. They also had to deal with their growing attraction for each other, as they worked together in an environment filled with secrets, drama, betrayals, action-packed encounters and danger from not only the authorities, but also family. Fortunately, they got to enjoy steamy and happy moments, which ultimately led to a chance at a happily ever after.
If you are looking for your next riveting romance to keep you totally engrossed for a few uninterrupted hours, then grab a copy of this book to start your amazing adventure into the Mafia Romance Series.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Romeo by Lily J. Adams MMC/FMC- Romeo and Julianna Genre- Mafia/MC Crossover Length- novel Heat- 3.5/5. Super hot. Series? Y Safety? Y Triggers- violence, discussion of graphic violence and SA, arson, language in two languages, sex. Tropes- Do-Si-Do with the Mafioso, Instalust, Law and Order, Instalove, Forced Proximity. What I liked- The overall story arc was interesting, but the real strength of the story is its characters. They are skillfully woven with excellent world building to create an intricate crossover universe. The chemistry between the two main characters is fire, as they said. The physical chemistry is there, but there’s also a mental chemistry that shows that they really belong together.
Great read. Found it hard to put down, once I started. Writing and editing excellent. Perhaps an even more twisted and tortured (complex) storyline. Plenty of action and suspense, throw in a surprising yet heartwarming romance with plenty of spice! What a great and interesting family of characters in this author’s MC work. Didn’t pick the ending of this book which, as usual, finishes with a HFN between the central couple and then a teaser leading to the next book. Lost half a star because the book ending seemed too rushed, but reviews don’t permit half stars.
This is a modern version of Romeo and Juliet. It kinda fits with the Italy theme considering that the characters are part of a mafia family. This brings a lot of the other series staples into this story, and it makes it feel like a deeper family connection. The characters are all connected either by blood, marriage , or friendship. They work together and finally grab the bad guy and find more family as well. Romeo and Julianna have instant attraction to each other but both try to ignore it, but feelings do not always wait for your mind to catch up. It is both funny and tragic all in one.
This is not a stand alone. Unless you are about to read over most of the beginning plot. There are so many people that you are supposed to know but don’t because you haven’t read the other books in her previous series. And the entire book was fine. But I skimmed most of it.
Also some of the use of Italian wasn’t great. It felt inserted to give them an “accent” but the problem is the word choice in English wasn’t giving Italian. So when they said papa. It felt like a child and really couldn’t get over it.
An excellent read. I absolutely loved Romeo and Julianna’s story ❤️❤️❤️ They were a beautiful, playful couple. Julie was strategic, bold and a smart woman and certainly a match for any man, one in particular, her love Romeo. Many secrets unveiled but the evil is at large again. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Romeo and Julianna have the perfect amount of drama and suspense to their story. I love the Walkers and Requiem MC and now that the mafia is on board there's even more excitement added. What a awesome start for a spin off series and w/ Deacon back to cause chaos once again plus a mind blowing surprise let me just say when the dam breaks you'll be stunned by the things that pour out I couldn't stop reading it.
Yet another in the Walker series. By now O has killed herself, Deacon has been caught and his *sister* V wants him back. Julianna is an attorney and is part of the law firm that Stephano Descalia employs. Romeo is Stalso an attorney but operates in a different branch of the law. This book is one of my favourites of the series (they are all good) and it is well written.
I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the MC, Mafia, Mystery genres.
Shakespeare has nothing on this Romeo and Julianna. This one has secrets, twists, and lots of steamy action. The Walker clan is still battling the dysfunctional "O's" family with a secret sister thrown in. If you haven't read Walker's Warriors or Requiem MC series yet, I definitely recommend you do so. You're in for a great binge of books. Definitely like the start of the Dark Legends books, and I look forward to Dante's story.
I don’t think it is a good standalone. Too much names at the beginning to a point where I was lost. Definitely not a slow burn but they were cute. Not dark at all. They could all be saints for all I read but I love that the couple was cute and the author was able to explain all the confusion during the book so it was understandable at the end, but definitely you could feel all the stories in the previous books.

When attorney Julianna is hired by Don Stephano Descalia, she and his son Romeo share undeniable chemistry. But secrets, danger, and family loyalties threaten their fiery relationship. Twists, betrayal, and a thrilling ending set the stage for the next story in the series.
Romeo and Julianna's part in the Walker Family story. The family is still in danger, the bad guy was captured but they need to rescue the kidnapped parent. The plot twists will throw you, the action and planning will keep you reading and the steam and other surprises will turn those pages even faster. And that cliffhanger - what a doozy
All these books are awesome. Quite a story to tell. I don't like cliffhangers. But I have read all of these. The author or authors knew what they were doing. Amazing is the only word I can describe about the storyline in these books. So much work and brilliance of mind made the characters and story come alive to be the best imagination ever. Thank you so much.
This novel was so good as I knew it would be! Loved the new couple “Romeo & Julianna” as well as enjoying several of the Walker family members included. I’m looking forward to Dante’s story when it is released in June!🌺
Loved it! This author is one of my favorites. She is the best storyteller. I have read all of her series and loved them all and this one is starting to be great
Confusing. And this is suppose to be the 1st in the series. Romeo who was suppose to be the Main Character became a supporting one. Seems Deacon was the MC. Since everything revolves around him.
