This review is posted on Way Too Hot Books.

This book is the 3d installment in the Wild Thing series, but it can be read as a standalone, even though you might be a little bit confused and overwhelmed at the beginning with the plot and the quite numerous number of secondary characters, but you'll catch up pretty quick. This is the first book I've read from this series and my first read by this author in general, but all in all, some minor issues aside- I liked it.

3 Romantic, fun & emotional stars!

It's a heart-warming hate-to-love story told from 2 point of views by its MCs: Bianca Ferarri, ex supermodel and the boss of one successful model agency, and Trapper Kincaid, the attractive, intelligent and wealthy judge. Both of the MCs are in their mid-30ies and they are the type of strong, independent, ambitious characters who, after some bad experiences, gave up on love and focused completely on their carriers. In fact Bianca and Trapper couldn't stand each other when they first met, but the chemistry between them was too intense to walk away, so they decided to solve their differences between the sheets, but then something life-changing happened and complicated their "have them & leave them" plan for good.

What I liked the most about this story is that both the main and secondary characters were witty, down-to-earth and relate-able, even though they are described as gorgeous, famous and wealthy. Bianca tended to be difficult from time to time, but it was mostly understandable considering her "situation", while Trapper made me swoon with all the beautiful gestures he did for her. His family was fun and endearing. My favorite secondary characters were Bianca's best (gay) friend James, Trapper's grandfather Joe and his younger sister Karma. Joe and Karma were hilarious with their snide remarks and pranks they pulled on their family members in the most inappropriate situations. They made me laugh so hard.

The reasons for my 3 stars rating:

~ It was maybe a bit too romantic and light for my taste.
~ I prefer more slow-building romances and this had some elements of insta-love.
~ The main female Bianca tended to be quite frustrating from time to time, but then again, she did have a justifiable reason for her behavior.
~ There was some cheesy content (at least the type of content which I consider cheesy) and my tolerance for those situations is almost non-existent.

You should definitely read this series if:

~ you're a big contemporary romance fan and don't mind some cheesy content in your books.
~ you're a fan of fast-paced, light on the drama, HEA love stories.
~ yore're a fan of strong heroines and sexy heroes.
~ you're a fan of fun and endearing secondary characters.
~ you don't mind some not too explicit sex scenes in your books.

All in all, if you're looking for a light, emotional & a little steamy romance for holidays which will leave you with a smile on your face, try it!

This is actually the third book featuring the Kincaid brothers and while I admit it's been a while since I read the others, I believe this one is my absolute favorite of the bunch! Trapper Kincaid has been burned in the past which has led him to never spend more than 72 hours with a woman or too ever spend a second 72 hours with the same woman. Until he meets, Bianca that is. From the very first things are different with Bianca but yet Trapper has never told Bianca things were different. So when Bianca finds herself pregnant, she never even considers telling Trapper since he never does more than 72 hours. So when Trapper finds out Bianca is pregnant, he needs to really work to convince the model who has never been loved by anyone that he really does love her and not just as the mother of his baby. This book can certainly stand on its own but it is better to read all of the books even just so you can fully appreciate Karma, the Kincaid sister that just loves to cause havoc in the family, and Grandpa Joe with all of his helpful advice. Caution, if you sit down to read this you won't be able to stop until the book is finished!

can't get any better

This series is amazing! I can't wait for Karma's book! I don't want to wait to long either. Trapper and Bianca's story was one of my favorites to read ever! I love the whole series, I didn't read anything else and didn't do any chores while reading Wild Thing Series again! Please release the next book soon! I can't wait that long and need my Kincaid fix!

Oh how I missed the quippy and endlessly entertaining worlds that Robin Kaye writes in. Embarrassingly, it's been far too long since I've picked up one of her books. However, I've learned my lesson and I will be stocking up on all the older books and upcoming ones pronto! A Little on the Wild Side is just as I remember the earlier Domesitc Gods novels. Hilarious with strong, willful and memorable characters.

Trapper and Bianca are two people who think they live in completely different worlds and due to their own screwy pasts are up for nothing than a few repeat romps in the bedroom... all across the globe. Imagine, meeting a lover in a foreign city? Gah, colored me extremely jealous. But these two had a perfect setup until Bianca went MIA and stayed that way. Eventually causing the no-repeat-bedmates Trapper to hunt her down. Imagine his surprise at what he finds when he comes knocking on her office door...

Trapper becomes hell bent on making Bianca his. He's seen the light, he's lived a life Bianca-less, and doesn't quite like it that way. So as these two embark on a push-pull, give and take journey they learn far more about each other than they ever planned and fall even harder. They're both bull-headed and have a lot of learning to do, if they're going to be in a relationship. However, their circumstances are less than ideal for swooning and falling into love. Their distrust goes far enough that it may screw up their future before they can even begin it.

Trapper is a guy any woman would love to have. Sure, he has is issues and negatives, but he tries so hard it makes it impossible not to love him. And damn that common sense he spouts at just the wrong time that leaves you wondering if you should give him the finger or a kiss. Bianca... I get her. I connected with her so incredibly well, it was almost scary. Her hot and cold feelings were very understandable and I empathized with her every step of the way. They equal each other out in just the right aspects. A definite ying and yang couple. I could not have asked for a better couple to introduce me into the fun, sexy world of the Wild Thing series. You can guarantee I'll be picking up and devouring the rest of the series!

Happy Reading!

My Review:
oooh, I liked this one. I've enjoyed this entire series and on the surface, this should have been the book that I enjoyed least because I usually don't like baby-momma story lines. But wow...this one worked for me. Really, really well.

Trapper and Bianca are the same in that they are both used to getting their way in pretty much everything in life. Trapper is the oldest of his siblings and has always been the one in control. He's a lawyer and has been a DA in the past and is now a judge at only 35 years old. He's always handled and controlled his siblings. His life is all about control...until Bianca enters it.

Bianca is not a person to be controlled. She's been a super-model since the time she was born and her attitude is all about the diva. BUT...and this is a huge but...she's such the perfect heroine for Trapper. He's the only place that she lets her 'very high' guard down. Not that it's lowered all the way....oh no, it's definitely not.

But on the flip side, Trapper is so perfect for her too. With the life Bianca has led, she was taken advantage of in the worst way when she was way too young to know how to protect herself. As a result, NO ONE gets in...until Trapper forces his way in. But he adores her...not just the physical aspect that the rest of the world sees. He truly loves and adores her and that's so easy to see on the pages of this book. I loved that about them. They are so freaking good together in really difficult circumstances. Robin Kaye did an incredible job evoking the emotions on the page so perfectly and beautifully. Those scenes during the climax with Trapper...I just wanted to hug him.

This book was amazing and it's definitely my favorite release of Robin Kaye's so far. I've been a fan for a while, but with this story, she just raised the bar. Now, I'm ready for Karma...and I'm guessing Angel? Regardless, Karma is a fabulously tough character in her own right. It will be fun to see how she handles love....

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

4.5 stars.

A Little on the Wild Side is the newest addition to Robin Kaye's delightfully entertaining Wild Thing series starring the Kincaid family. In this outing, it is oldest brother Trapper's turn to find love with ex-super model Bianca Ferrari, but they have a few problems to overcome before they can live happily ever after.

Trapper and Bianca are both commitment phobes with busy lives so a fling is the perfect solution to their unexpected attraction. Both are deeply scarred by past betrayals and they have serious trust issues. Trapper was burned by a former girlfriend and he now indulges in short-lived, casual affairs. Bianca's parents took advantage of her from a young age and she has maintained an emotional distance from everyone except her grandmother and close friend James since she was a teenager.

A health crisis gives Trapper the opening he needs to whisk Bianca away from New York and into the warm and inviting arms of his family. Although Bianca has her defenses firmly in place, she finds it impossible to resist the Kincaid clan and she becomes close friends with his various family members. But more surprising is the unanticipated change in her relationship with Trapper. Their passion gives way to deeper emotions but Bianca remains reluctant to make a permanent commitment despite Trapper's declaration of love.

A Little on the Wild Side is a very heartwarming novel of love, family and friendship. Bianca and Trapper are well-developed, multi-faceted characters and it is very gratifying watching them grow as individuals and as a couple. Robin Kaye once again puts a unique spin a familiar plot and the resulting story is funny, poignant and emotional. It is an absolutely charming romance that old and new fans of the Wild Thing series are going to love.

I so wished for a wacky adventure (pregnancy is definitely not one in my opinion) for Trapper, as his story had me interested, since way back with Yours for the Taking.

The book felt like it had a heavy lot of more stereotypical context that I personally wasn't fond of. With that said I wasn't a huge fan of this book - like many others it would seem, based on the other reviews I saw. Yet, I've been a fan since the Domestic Gods series and the humour is what kept me going. I can honestly say I liked Trapper's story with Bianca, but I wished for it to take a better plotline, as the book felt too predictable.

For a lighter comment, I have to say that I hope Nan and Gramps get together, that would be adorable, as Nan is just wacky and Gramps...well, he's badass. As for Karma, she is my (probably everyone's) favourite and I can't wait to read her story, but I think the obvious with who it is going to be with, as it had been thrown out very early in these books, so I just hope it pleases more with a non-generic storyline, but still brings what we love of Kaye.

For the writing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It is Kaye and she is perfection as an author.

Good day! (-‿◦☀)

I finish this in one go and I must say that it's bad for my sleeping hours. Haha So before I go to the review itself, I'll just remind you that I really do have spoilers somewhere below so if you're not keen on reading some, be sure to skip this.

OVERALL:
It was an engaging and wonderful story. It was sweet and a story of two hearts loving each other yet still learning to trust one other. The family closeness was heart warming, and a little bit overwhelming. It was well written, and I would really recommend it.

And that's it! Good reads everyone!

Title: A Little On The Wild Side

Series: Wild Thing Book #3
Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Robin Kaye

Genre: Romance, Contemporary

Blurb: A woman who gets what she wants... Bianca Ferrari-ex-supermodel turned successful business woman-seems to have it all: beauty, brains and a career she loves. And she did it all by herself...through sheer force of will and ruthless determination. So when her life is suddenly turned upside down, it's hard for her to admit that going it alone may not be an option.

A man who knows what she needs... Sexy, rugged and down-to-earth, Trapper Kincaid has a knack for attracting all kinds of women-mostly the wrong kind. When he finds out that the exhaustingly independent and drop-dead gorgeous Bianca is in serious need of help, he knows he's the man for the job. But Bianca isn't going to make it easy...

Favorite quotes: “Snoop into my life? You are my life.”

Thoughts: This was a pretty decent contemporary romance. Overall, I liked the storyline, however a large part of the story was ruined for me by Bianca’s character. Bianca was just annoying – she was self-absorbed, demanding, and bitchy. Frankly, she had very little redeeming qualities and it was hard to get through the book solely based on her character alone. Trapper on the other hand was in direct contrast. He was a great character and it’s a little sad that he gets brought down by Bianca’s character. Could have been a great book, but ….well, I’m blaming Bianca!

Well… They’re just sleeping together.

But I think not in the wild term. Mungkin itu maksud judulnya menggunakan kata “a little“. Dan cover bukunya…nggak menggambarkan isi ceritanya. Memang sih Bianca kalau di dekat Trapper bawaanya jadi horny melulu (Bianca blames the hormones, actually) tapi dengan kondisi kehamilan Bianca yang bermasalah dia nggak seliar itu deh. Yang justru berasa liar adalah si Karma. Saya rasa buku berikutnya dalam serial ini adalah gilirannya Karma, yang tentu saja sangat saya nantikan.

My Thoughts:
This is the third book in the Wild Thing series and I've not read the other two. It's easy to determine that the other two Kincaid boys were the heroes of the former tomes. So, while it is a series where the books are connected, this one had no problem standing on it's own.
Pregnancy is not treating former supermodel Bianca Ferrari very kindly. The fact that she's not told her baby-daddy fling yet either just compounds matters. With her at her NY company, she's prepared to go it alone, against the advise of her gay best friend, James.
Trapper Kincaid is a judge in Boise, Idaho. After a horrible experience with his now former-fiancee several years back, he's adopted "72-hour fling" stance, and has adhered to that since - until Bianca. With Bianca, he's breaking all his self-imposed rules and finds himself wondering about more. When Bianca cancels their latest rendezvous and doesn't return his calls, Trapper flies to New York to locate her and discovers that she's pregnant and dangerously ill. He takes it upon himself to take her back to Boise so she can receive the care she's been ordered, against her wishes.
I had a good laugh over the Kincaid names... I'd almost expected them to have parental units like the Zappas. All of the characters are smartly written with unique personalities, strong verbal skills and believable interaction. The plot is good, there's enough conflict and drama to carry it smoothly, mostly caused by insecurities, lack of communication and MIScommunication. There's a good blend of serious and humor, but after a while the aforementioned drama becomes exasperating. The conflicts are never-ending and presented in a continual loop but finally, around the eighty-five percent mark, things start falling into place and settling down. There was very little predictability and a wonderfully solid conclusion with just the slightest hint at where the next book in the series will venture.

Oh how I have missed the Kincaid/Walsh family but it was worth the wait as Robin Kaye put Judge Trapper Kincaid through the paces when he finally meets his match. Take a large and in charge man, a very self sufficient woman who is determined to remain that way, both with above average IQ’s but whose common sense isn’t always the best, past relationship baggage, and add in one large, overbearing but well meaning family and you have one amazingly fun, sexy, and entertaining story.
I’ll admit that when this relationship was hinted at in the last couple of books, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it because Bianca Ferrari did not leave me with a great impression and I loved Trapper so much. However it became immediately clear that these two were meant to be together and that despite Bianca’s need to do things on her own she really did need Trapper and his family’s help even though she felt she didn’t. It was interesting to watch Trapper who has always had this air about him that he was able to handle anything and anyone struggle to make Bianca understand how much she meant to him especially since she knew all about his 72 hour “fling” rule although they had manage to have multiple 72 hours together since they met. Thank heaven for Trapper’s family giving him all the support, advice, and sometimes even some tough love to get him through what turned out to be quite an ordeal as he worked to win over Bianca. I loved watching Bianca blossom around Trapper and his family; having been a model since babyhood and basically on her own since 15 she really never had a normal life and she didn’t have a normal family. It was hard watching her struggle to accept that these people really enjoyed her for her, not for who she was or what she could do for them but watching her realize that these were honest, good and true people who care about her and whom she could trust made my eyes leak a little because she’d had so few good relationships in her life.
Throughout this story Trapper and Bianca have a lot of ups and downs, some big surprises, a whole lot of changes to deal with, and most of all love for each other and the love of those around them. They handle all of this with laughter, tears, and sometimes even a damn good mad but in the end they both understand just how important they are to each other. For two people who never expected to be in a long term relationship they really did manage to do a pretty good job of figuring it all out.
Entertaining from beginning to end, smart, sexy, and interlaced with humor A Little on the Wild Side is a spectacular addition to an already fantastic series. Robin Kaye does not disappoint and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the only girl in this family of wild men because Karma goes beyond the definition of wild!

Wow. This book was... problematic. It's a word used a lot these days but I'd say that kidnapping a woman from New York to Idaho and then taking away all forms of communication could definitely be categorized in that way (not a spoiler, this happens in the first couple of chapters). I have to say that I was uncomfortable pretty much the whole time I read this book. Other people may not have issues with that but if you do, do NOT read this book.
Bianca Ferrari is a ex-supermodel who has been enjoying a string of 72-hour stands with Trapper Kincaid. And now, she's having a hard time dealing with an unexpected pregnancy
Trapper comes to New York, ostensibly to find Gina's (a "cousin"-in-law) long-lost brother. But instead, he finds out that the girl he just can't forget is pregnant. And in dire straits. So he decides to fly her home. To his home. In Idaho. Without talking to her about it. Which everyone tells him is a bad idea, but nobody seems to think is a really, really bad thing to do.
Often, there are no damn-good reasons for a woman not to tell a man that she's pregnant, but Kaye actually creates an almost reasonable explanation here. Bianca not only has a past with an unplanned pregnancy, she doesn't know how Trapper truly feels about her. Neither is a great reason but it's better than most of the books that include this trope.

I didn't particularly like either of these characters and may not have finished the book if it weren't an ARC (not that you have to finish/review them, I just feel like it's a nice thing to do). Also, I have generally liked Kaye as an author in the past though I would most definitely recommend reading the "Domestic Gods" series rather than the "Wild Thing" set of books.
As a last little point, Bianca mentions that she has a "forty-three inch" inseam. I thought that maybe they had inverted 34, but it is actually spelled out. Nope. At 5'9" (and 3/4 on a good day), I have a 32" inseam. I actually Googled "what's a super-model's inseam" to make sure I wasn't nuts, and the answers ranged from 31 to 34. This is only a minor fact-check but still... Hopefully this one will get cleared up before publishing.

Woah man, I must get myself the previous books in this series, because if the other Kincaid brothers are half as yummy as Trapper, I'm all in!

Bianca Ferrari, former model turned successful businesswoman, is pleased as hell to be pregnant, but her baby daddy isn't exactly long-term material. She and Idaho Judge Trapper Kincaid burned up the sheets (and floors, and tables, and walls) together, but he's not the kind of man who sticks with one woman for more than a few days. In fact he's known as the 72 hour man and has a reputation that would make Don Juan look like a monk.

But Trapper is utterly captivated by the fiercely independent woman who disappeared from his life as quickly as she entered it, and he's determined to find out what's going on with her. When he finds out she's pregnant, he's got to try and convince her that he's in love with HER, and not just as his baby mama. But with a dangerous and troubled pregnancy in the cards, Bianca's going to need all the help she can get. Is Trapper up for the challenge?

A LITTLE ON THE WILD SIDE is book 3 in the Wild Thing series featuring the sexy Kincaid brothers. I've not had the pleasure of reading the prior books in this series, but I might just go back and make that happen! Trapper's been burnt before and keeps his dalliances to a few short days before ending them, while Bianca doesn't trust anyone in her life, since she knows everyone wants something from her.

I absolutely LOVED this couple; they were incredibly combustible together and even the secondary cast of characters were all funny and heartwarming. Although Bianca was terribly mean to Trapper throughout the book (and you would be too in her situation!), you could tell that the two of them really adored one another so much and were meant to be together. And their contortionist sex scenes (due to her pregnancy) were sexy but not overtly so.

Trapper was crazy delicious, but A LITTLE ON THE WILD SIDE refers to some situations in earlier books that maybe make him out to be not the 100% good guy he seems in this one. I did feel bad for him since Bianca was such a bitch for most of the book and he kept putting his foot, ankle ( hell his entire leg) in his mouth over and over.

The rest of the Kincaid family was excellent, a wonderful comic relief and I really am looking forward to catching up on the earlier books in this series soon! But first, I hope to devour sister Karma's story. She's one wickedly wonderful character!

A Little on the Wild Side is one of those additive books that I started and could not put down. I opened this book on my Kindle after finishing up another great book. I was just going to open the book and maybe read the introduction. It was already late and I was tired. Well that plan didn't last long. The next thing I knew I was completely engrossed in this enthralling story and another two hours had passed.

I became a fan of Robin Kaye's work the very first time I had the opportunity to read one of her books. She has a nice writing style that I find enjoyable to read. She creates fun characters that are humorous and just a little quirky.

Trapper Kincaid was happily enjoying his life as a single judge. He had no plans at all to become involved with anyone. That is until he finds himself spending time with Bianca Ferrari. The more time they spend together the more time he wanted to spend with her. When Bianca cancels plans and stops responding to Trapper he wants to know why. He wants her back in his life. Oh my is he in for a surprise.

When Bianca finds Trapper waiting in her office, she finds herself revealing the secret she has been carrying. I don't want to tell you too much about the the secret because it is not revealed in the blurb.

Neither Trapper or Bianca plan on falling in love and they both have very good reasons for the single life they have lived. However the more they get to know each other the closer the become. Bianca has never seen the likes of the Kincaid family closeness. It's not long and she finds that she really likes being a part of this overwhelming and loving family.

A Little on the Wild Side contains plenty of family drama, a lot of humor, and a few suspense filled moments. Overall I found it to be one really great read. I really enjoyed this book and had a great time reading about Bianca Ferrari, Trapper Kincaid, and the unique Kincaid family. This is the third book in the Wild Thing series. This is the first book I have had the chance to read in this series. I would love the chance to read the other two but I didn't feel like I was missing anything that distracted me from the enjoyment of this story.

I hope that Trapper's sister Karma gets her story told next I can't wait to see what kind of mischief this girl can get into while she falls in love. It's going to take a special man to love this fun and mischievous girl.

I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you.

While this is the third book in the Wild Thing series, it's the first time I have met the Kincaid brothers and I kinda like em! We have Trapper, Fisher and Hunter Kincaid, each a little bit different in their own right, however come together as a great team. Such clever names from Robin Kaye-I loved them! A Little on the Wild Side features the eldest Kincaid brother, Trapper, who is a sitting judge in Ohio and as straight laced as they come. Or at least that's what it looks like from the outside anyway.

Trapper isn't looking for a wife or a girlfriend. He was burned in the past and now gives the ladies a 72-hour window with him before he's outta there. The only woman that has made a second and third appearance is Bianca Ferrari and she's 3000 miles away in New York. As a judge, Trapper is known for rules and order. His family knows what the deal is with him and dating and wonders what has his panties in such a bunch lately.

Bianca Ferrari is a former supermodel that has parlayed that career into owning a successful modeling agency of her own. She has been in the business all her life and is skeptical of others, her only friend is James. Bianca was also burned in the past, however it's way different than Trapper. Bianca's trust has been broken and instead of working on gaining it back, she decided to shut her emotions off to everybody but James. Trapper included. Sure he was a great roll in the hay, but her life is in New York, not Ohio.

Suddenly Bianca finds herself in need of some major help and Trapper seems to be the man for the job. After not seeing each other for months, Bianca realizes he is different from the others and starts to thaw a little bit. She's an independent gal and relying on Trapper and his family is the last thing she wants, however is given no choice in the matter. It isn't just her life she has to worry about anymore.

The review is vague to protect the emotional roller coaster ride Robin Kaye has written for us. At times I was annoyed by Bianca, but then factored in her situation and cut her some slack. The Kincaid family is fabulous and come together well when they have too. I am going to go back and read the first two books in the series to learn more about them. Great book, well written and has you laughing through the drama. Hopefully the next book can be about Big Joe Walsh and Charlene, Bianca's grandma-that would be funny.

What a great book..I could not put it down. This is a book 3 of the Wild series for Robin Kaye. I read the previous two books in the series some time before but this book left me with a smile on my face. Karma, Tapper's sister is a force to be dealt with, in previous 2 books she had some great influence as well... Tapper and Bianca had seen eachother a few times and all of a sudden Bianca was giving him a cold shoulder. He didn't see her for a few months and he had enough decising to go to New York to look into a family matter and stoping by Bianaca's office. She walks in looking extremely underweight and obviously pregnant and faints at the sight of him. Bianca gets taken to the hospital with Trapper by her side and she wakes up to finding that he not only is he not mad and freaking out at the news of becoming a father but he's actually excited but also really concerned about her well being. As they do an ultrasound on her they discover that she is carrying twins!! Bianca is put on a bed rest and told she has to be in a stress free environment. Trapper decides that she will be able to have that at his home in Boise and decides not to tell her about the decision till they leave the hospital.
Bianca is very independent and has never had anyone take care of her without some kind of agenda.Even her own parents used her for her money till she found out about it and emancipated herself from them at the age of 15. She build a successful business and she loved her job.
Trapper was a sit in judge who took law seriously and never did relationships. He was know for his 72 hour flings and he had no repeats, that was until he laid his eyes on Bianca. Bianca challenged him over everything..Even now while she is pregnant with their babies she didn't like one bit that he basically kidnapped her to give her what was good for her and the babies.
Once they get to Boise the challenges keep coming their way. Will they get over them and have their little ones come to world in which their parents finally let themselves feel love and content?
Robin I hope you don't make us wait to long for Karma's story!

Robin Kaye, as always as my favo author.

I really enjoyed Robin Kaye’s A Little on the Wild Side, though I’m not usually a fan of the baby-on-the-way subset of the genre. This one, though, features one sexy-as-heck cowboy hat-wearing judge, one stubborn-as-heck supermodel-turned-businesswoman, and a cast of family (his) and friends (hers) you’ll want in your own lives.

I felt badly for Trapper (our hero). The poor guy falls in love with Bianca, but doesn’t tell her (not so smart now, is he?). He lets her think she’s one of his short-lived booty calls, then wonders why she’s ignoring him. Now he knows she’s pregnant, he goes all out to win her for real, but he’s not sure how. *sigh* Luckily he’s got an uber-cool mom. (But dude, to have to go to your mom…)

Bianca has her own set of baggage to explain why she’s not giving Trapper the time of day. I admired her independent spirit, though I did want to smack her upside the head a couple of times. I could understand her concern that Trapper only wanted to stay in her life because she’s pregnant, and not for her. But that’s because the dude’s a, well, dude. At least she has pregnancy hormones to blame… ;)

Overall, I liked the dialogue, the drama, and the camaraderie. Sure, Bianca and Trapper have their issues to work through, but what couple doesn’t? I loved the good-natured ribbing his brothers throw his way, the cranky-worried friends she has, and the warm family concern for the both of them (yes, including the nosy interference). Curl up with this and a cup of tea (or a hot toddy!) this winter.

drey’s rating: Excellent!

The first I have read by this author, the Wild Thing series is focused on the Kincaid Family, and this happens to be Trapper’s story. Trapper is the oldest brother, a commitment phobe with some serious trust issues and a lady-killer reputation of late. Despite this, Trapper was wonderfully well-developed with issues that were understandable, and a clear connection to his family and the support and love he finds there. More importantly, his belief in finding ‘the one’ is only hidden, not broken, and his open admiration and declarations of his love for Bianca are refreshing to see.

For her part, Bianca is struggling to be as completely self-reliant and contained as possible. With parents that set bad examples, she has closed herself off emotionally from nearly everyone with the exception of her grandmother and best friend. Her interest in Trapper is solid, but her own concerns about the hurt she can suffer at the hands of someone who she allows inside her walls is often stronger than even she realizes. With some lovely interactions with Trapper’s family members, and a solid sense of trust between them, she just may take that chance at happiness.

Kaye’s characters are well-developed and honest, with interactions that are honest and feel plausible. While allowing both Trapper and Bianca to grow and develop, and let down their walls, I loved that the changes came from Trapper first: his once-burned bitterness could not overwhelm his own realization that Bianca is special, and only honest sharing of his feelings, no matter how scary, can win her heart.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

4.5 Stars!

I really enjoyed A Little on the Wild Side by Robin Kaye. It is a well-written contemporary romance with characters that will make you laugh, grumble and sob. Tissues are a definite must while reading this book. I just recently discovered Ms. Kaye's amazing talent and I can't wait to read more from her book library.

This is the story about Idahoan judge Trapper Kincaid and former supermodel turned successful businesswoman Bianca Ferrari. Trapper is the oldest of four siblings and he and his family are very close. They support each other through thick and thin. Bianca is an only child who started her career as a model when she was only an infant. Her childhood was anything but happy, until her grandmother took her in when she was fifteen. Both Trapper and Bianca are two incredibly smart and good looking people. They met at Trapper's brother's wedding and hit it off. Both are commitment-phobic, so having a fling fits right into their lifestyle and busy schedules. Of course nothing ever goes according to plan and one night of passion evolves into a new normal for the both of them.

This is a terrific story that kept me thoroughly engaged from start to finish. I loved the way Ms. Kaye enveloped Bianca into the Kincaid clan, through tough-love, honesty and humor. The secondary characters are just as interesting to read about as Trapper and Bianca, so hopefully Ms. Kaye will explore some of their stories in her next book.

4.25 Hearts This is the third in the series and while I only read the 2nd in the series I have to say that I loved Call Me Wild so I had a high expectation for this story and it met it. I really didn’t expect to love this as much as I loved the other one but I hoped it would be close and it was. Trapper is a great character. He is so loving and has a great sense of humor. He is written so well that it is hard not to enjoy him. But did I fall for him? Not really. I just would want him to fall for one of my friends. Bianca is a little bit of a pain in the butt but still someone fun to read about. Would I want her to be my best friend? Actually no but again I would enjoy spending some time with her.

Now that probably sounds like I didn’t enjoy the characters but I really did. They mesh well. They are meant to be together that is for sure. I wish there had been a bit more of Gramps. Gramps is a hoot of a character but we really didn’t get enough of him in this story.

I read this book during the holidays (it is not a holiday romance) and I wish I had more time to read it in one sitting. It has a really nicely written flow and unfortunately I kept having to break that flow when life intruded (dang it!) but even so I enjoyed it very much. And I can’t wait for Karma’s story.

A Little on the Wild Side begins where a 72 hour relationship?? has gone south. However, the two main love interests now have a share interest in the babies to come. Because the first hookup happens before this story starts it is took me a little while to feel caught up in the story. I remember Trapper from a previous book but did not remember Bianca.

I found Bianca Ferrari to fit the diva stereotype of supermodels even though she has branched out since her modeling days. She never considers telling Trapper about the pregnancy, then he has to work to win her over. I do understand that they did not like each other when they first met, but something must have worked between them. No, I don’t think she should have gone running back to him, that isn’t in the character Robin Kaye has written. However, she is harsh to him. As for Trapper Kincaid, he is the strong rural man with commitment issues. He is a good guy at heart who needed to be loved as much as Bianca needed to be.

What makes this story so enjoyable is the secondary characters. I think James is a wonderful, funny, and honest friend. Joe and Karma are hilarious and keep this story from getting too bogged down in the problems between Bianca and Trapper. Maybe it’s not my favorite by Robin Kaye, but all in all a good read.

*NOTE: I haven't read the previous books in this series.
I guess this book would sort of be classified as a second-chance romance even though it was more like a relationship on pause, finally being played.
Tapper was sort of hard to categorize. He's a very successful judge and a cowboy, not someone I'm used to reading about but that's sort of what made him so intriguing. Bianca seemed to be labeled as a bit of a bitch or at least very unlikeable but I never really disliked her. To be fair though, I haven't read the previous books in the series and when I do, my opinion of her could certainly be different. Tapper's family was so over-the-top and a bit pushy but exactly what Bianca & Tapper needed to push them forward in a positive manner.
I liked this book and thought that the writing was great. The author made the characters fun and believable and was able to draw me into the story. I've already added the previous books to my TBR and look forward to reading more from this author, specifically Karma's story? (Hint. Hint.)
If you're looking for a book with a lot of angst or a lot of steam, this isn't the book for you. If you enjoy a sweet romance with a heavy focus on family, you should pick this up!

A Little on the Wild Side by Robin Kaye
Domestic Gods Series Book Seven
Judge Trapper Kincaid, the eldest brother of the Kincaids, is a seventy-two hour guy. That is the longest he gives a relationship before ending it. Sometimes less. Until Bianca. Since he met her back in book five, Wild Thing, she hasn’t left his mind. When someone is needed to go to New York to help his cousin Ben’s wife...Trapper is all over it. Especially since that is where Bianca is.

Bianca Ferrari is an ex-supermodel and has her own agency. Life hasn’t been easy for this beauty. Fame and fortune does not come at an easy price. Now she has a crisis in her life and no time to slow down, until she has no choice. This independent woman is determined not to let anyone in her life. Trapper is determined to change her mind.

I loved seeing all the characters that I met in the previous books once again. Hunter and Toni, Fisher and Jesse, Grandpa Joe, their mom, Ben and Gina and especially Karma. Looking forward to her story!
