Accidental Baby Daddy

Rate this book
I ran from the altar only to land in the arms… ahembed of my ridiculously hot ex.
Now he's a crazy rich single dad, and the reason for my baby bump.

That night, I entered the bar looking like a runaway bride cliché with only five bucks stuffed in my bra.

"You look like you need a drink," Oliver says in a voice deeper and huskier than I remember.

A few shots later, and all I want is his body driving me wild like only he can.

The next morning, as the haze lifts, I remember the shocking reason we broke up all those years ago and why it could never work between us.

But now I'm living in the cabin on his property.
Blurring lines as neighbors-with-benefits.
Spending time with his adorable son and feeling like a family.

And as I look at those two little pink lines, it hits me…

This beautiful accident might be what finally brings us together.

Get ready to fall in love with Oliver and Lexie in this spicy and heartfelt rollercoaster of a romance. It's a stand alone with no cheating and a very satisfying HEA!

skimmed a lot so no rating but i did not enjoy it, at all and i can't decide how much i hate the hero in it 🫢

H/h are high school sweethearts who broke up at 18 cause he assumes she's been cheating on him with their mutual best friend and rips into her. Their screaming match ends with her leaving town. Both h and their bff tells him they didn't cheat but this insecure ass doesn't believe them and continues to hold grudge. They meet years later when she's now running from her own wedding. An hour into their meet, they are already banging 🤡

Suzanne is the ow H says he has been together with a handful of times, never anything serious and has a 5 year old kid with. Then we have Krista, the bartender H flirts with on page but he says he isn't interested in another fling. Then we have all ow he slept with but kept in casual. Finally, there's h he screwed without protection. Obv she has a shitty ex she's running from and a non existent sex life. No surprises for the cliched double standards ig 🫡

he gets into a screaming match again, she tells him she's pregnant, he acts like a dick and spews some shit because he doesn't trust her. Goes on to be a bigger dick and he apparently can't grovel cause he can't show emotions 💀

So no grovel, he's pushy af and this guy was a walking red flag throughout the book but ofc it's hea.

3.5 stars. It was good, but Lexie irritated me at times as a character. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of breakups because of a misunderstanding. It boils down to trust in this case, and through the whole book, Oliver doesn't have it towards Lexie, so I'm not sure how their relationship will last. It's a book, so I can suspend disbelief in this area, but in real life, I don't think they would last very long. I'll read another by this author as I liked the characters and plot in her other book I read. I think this one just wasn't for me.

Not the best

I have loved Mia's other books but this one not so much. It was like someone else wrote it. Not even sure how to describe it but it wasn't well written like her other books.

Repetitive storylines with weak characters

So I enjoyed the possessive show he had over Richard. However, overall, this book is just a hodgepodge of the other books in the series and not very interesting on its own. It also isn't very realistic.

So we have a small town, allegedly, that she is from and yet there seems to be a crapload of people there and a lot of restaurants and bars. Bars. And even new restaurants and bars. That is not very small town book feel.

The chance of Richard actually finding her in some random little small town doesn't seem very plausible either. But the danger aspect from him was probably the highlight of the book. But also underwhelming.

This author and this series apparently only have surprise pregnancies for all of them. This one was also another single dad which we've had in the past. This one. She barely even met the son before all of a sudden she is mom or rather mommy, to a 5-year-old who's very excited to have a new mommy.

Every time he sees his former best friend Tristan, he goes into an immediate rage and tries to fight him. Which, dumb, but okay. How have they gone 10 years in this small town without seeing each other though?

I get he was young and dumb for some stuff and believed his father, but he really should have known his friend and his girlfriend better than that. So the whole story was kind of ridiculous in the first place.

There really didn't seem to be any point in having her mom come back into the picture and they never really went over the issues that Gilly had with their mom. Other than that she was very hostile towards her own mother as well. The whole book was just blah. As I typed this I'm not even sure why I gave it two stars. Pity star maybe?

She's so set on getting out of that small town and she does only to realize the big town sucks and she met the wrong guy because her guy was home in the small town. And now all of a sudden she's ready to settle down in this small town because she forgave him so quickly? I don't know. It was just too much for me. He didn't grovel enough. He cried too much. And the whole thing with his parents annoyed me too. Why wouldn't mom come forward until him what Dad had done? You're going to leave your husband over it, but you're not going to set things straight with your kid for his happiness always? That's crap too. So yeah, maybe this book really is more like one star at this point. But I'm too lazy to go back and change it.

And as for the honeymoon. The dude has more money than anything out there and she didn't even want to go on a honeymoon with her man to make up for a lost time and everything? I get wanting to be with family, but they have a lifetime to be with family. Take them all to Hawaii and let the kids be nearby while they have their fun and Grandma and Grandpa can be on-site grandbaby sitters.

Does this author do anything different and unique? At this point, I think not.

Great story

Accidental Baby Daddy is a captivating second-chance romance that pulls at your heartstrings from beginning to end. This story is a beautiful reminder that true love often finds its way back, even after years of heartbreak and misunderstanding.

The novel follows Oliver and Lexie, former high school sweethearts who once dreamed of a future together. Their young love seemed unbreakable until a devastating rumor shattered their relationship. Oliver was led to believe that Lexie had cheated on him with his best friend, Tristian. Heartbroken and unwilling to hear her side of the story, Oliver cut ties, leaving Lexie devastated. She fled their small town, carrying the pain of a love lost.

Years later, Lexie returns home after becoming a runaway bride, only to cross paths with Oliver—the one man who still holds her heart. Their reunion is both tender and tense, filled with unresolved feelings and buried truths. Oliver now has a young son from a previous relationship, making him cautious about opening his heart again. Yet, the chemistry and connection between him and Lexie are undeniable.

What makes this story truly shine is the emotional depth of their journey. Oliver’s struggle to forgive and Lexie’s longing for closure create a gripping tension. As the truth about their past slowly unravels, it becomes clear that their love was never the problem—it was the lies that tore them apart. Watching them rebuild trust and rediscover their bond is both heartwarming and satisfying.

The presence of Oliver’s son adds a layer of warmth and realism, showing Oliver’s growth into a devoted father. It also highlights the stakes of their rekindled relationship—love is no longer just about the two of them; it’s about creating a future for a family.

Overall, Accidental Baby Daddy is a beautifully written tale of forgiveness, redemption, and the enduring power of first love. Fans of second-chance romances will find themselves rooting for Oliver and Lexie every step of the way. Their story proves that sometimes, the heart knows what it wants—even after all those years apart.

Thirty pages in. Please. Pick a tense. Past or present, I don’t care. Then stick with it.😐

Sixty-six pages in. Just changed my rating from four to three stars. MFC and MMC unlikable and immature. MFC has a real hang up on her younger sister being “the favored one” growing up. God, girl. Let it go. MMC just as immature and wrapped up in himself. There’s a reason you don’t have any friends, bro. You’re a dick.

May be a DNF if the verb tenses continue to wander and these characters don’t improve.

P.99. Sorry, but no 28/yr.old Texan oil rigger would ever say (they’re in a “wings” restaurant), “Try the Thai curry. It’s to die for.” Nope. Maybe a high school girl. Maybe. But not a grown-ass straight guy from Texas . . . Thinking about dropping this to two stars . . .

P.128. OK, this guy REALLY likes steak. A little too much . . . Not sure what that’s all about.🫤

Meh, finally finished it. (Skimmed the last fifty pages.) 2.5 stars, but closer to two. Mainly due to the limited groveling. I’m finding that to be a pattern in her books. She takes you up, up, up the hill of conflict, laying out the MMC’s past mistakes as he continues to double down and make new ones. Then, in relatively short order (mainly a lot of “I love you’s” from the MMC), she melts. Actions speak louder than words and “show don’t tell” is never more important than it is in a second chance romance. And “romance” is more than just falling into bed. I enjoyed the three of Mara’s books I read, but I’m tired of the empty calories. I’m hoping to find a writer who can sate my hunger for more substantial characters and story.

I enjoyed Oliver and Lexi’s story. Young love that came to end based on an assumption that may or may not have been true. Oliver was told something he believed to be true and ruined the relationship between him and Lexi as well as his best friend Tristan. As the years went one Oliver and Lexi never forgot each other, both angry with the past and when Lexi decided to run from her future and back home where the memories are hard, and the last person she thought she’d run into on her first day back in town was Oliver. These two have a connection, chemistry and an intense feeling of hurt between them. The more time they spend together, those old feelings creep in and it's comfortable, but wrong or so they think. All it takes is one night for everything to come flooding back for both of them. What happens when Lexi’s ex finds her and wants her back? What about the little secret she’s keeping from Oliver? If only these two would listen to each other, but nope two stubborn people. I adored Trent. I love it when authors incorporate young kids into the situation, it gives them so much life and really helps make the story. When Oliver learns the truth about what really happened by a source he trusted, will Lexi and Tristan be able to ever forgive him? I found this book on BookSprout.

Lexie is on the run. She is running from her fiancée who she left at the alter. She has no place to go but back home. She hopes to only have to be there for a short time. When she reaches town she gets a hotel for a few days and starts to look for a job. Of course one of the first people she sees is Oliver, the reason she left town. She still feels the pull toward him. The electricity, the spark, the chemistry, the desire to be with him. The hurt is still there. They need to stay away from each other as much as possible. The story is filled with obstacles, lots of emotional baggage going around - anger, angst, betrayal, family drama, lies, trust issues, conflicting feelings. But it also contains warmth, tenderness, passion, love, forgiveness and joy. It has several twists and turns and setbacks and surprises. Very creative. It will pull you in. It is a page turner. It has everything you would want to keep you interested. Dynamite read!! Really so good!!.

Accidental Baby Daddy, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this amazing single dad and runaway bride romance. Author Mira Mara continues to create fascinating romance books with captivating plots, sensational characters, and beautiful outcomes. Accidental Baby Daddy follows the journey of Lexie and Oliver who are amazingly written and beautifully executed throughout the book. I enjoyed learning about Lexie and Oliver as well as witnessing their amazing story come to fruition. Oliver is an amazing character who is a single father and is the man whose heart Lexie broke when she left. I love the fact that Lexie and Oliver’s story comes to an end with a happily ever after with them getting married. I love that even though Lexie hurt Oliver, he still tries his best to protect her from Lexie’s ex-fiancé. Accidental Baby Daddy is most definitely a book which I would encourage other readers to checkout this amazing romance story. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing books written by Author Mira Mara.

Lexie runs away from her wedding to her hometown. She runs right into the arms of Oliver, the man she left years ago. Now Oliver is a single dad and even more hard to resist. After a wild night together, she thinks she has it out of her system. Not so fast though, because her rental cabin belongs to him. Oliver is her hot neighbor and beyond irresistible. To make matters worse, her fiancé is dead set on finding her and dealing with their lack of marital bliss. What could be worse? She’s pregnant with Oliver’s baby. This is a total disaster.

Mia Mara has done it again. She has amazing talent for baby daddy drama and a little action and upset on top of it. This one is no different. Oliver is the sexy neighbor anyone would love to live next to and wake up with. The happy ending Lexie deserves is obviously perfect with Oliver!.

Broken Trust

Lexie & Oliver were high school sweethearts & best friends with Tristen. Oliver’s dad interfered & successfully broke up the 3 friendships plus the HEA Lexie & Oliver were dreaming of. She left town & eventually got engaged to another man. Leaving him at the altar, she runs back to her home town where the broken bridges of family, friends & her ex-boyfriend, Oliver need to be fixed. The main problem is the false story told to Oliver years ago & how he refuses to believe Lexie & Tristen’s stories that nothing happened. The chemistry between them is still alive & there’s no denying these two are meant to be together. Even with Oliver groveling to win her back as he can’t live without her, will she open her eyes & her heart to finally realize the trust is there? A good story to read!

what you read in the synopsis is exactly what you get

It’s honestly surprising that both Lexie and Tristan are adamant nothing happened and yet he doesn’t believe them. Ten years passes and their story hasn’t changed and no one pushes any deeper. We all just leave statements at “that never happened” “I have nothing to apologize for” … I appreciate that Tristan didn’t forgive the catalyst as quickly as the other cause I’m still surprised we moved on so quickly.

I hate that it took 50% to realize she was pregnant but they quickly realized the lie that broke them up was false. Then I’m grateful for not third act break up.

Over all it was incredibly decent. I wish we knew why the sister cut off the parents in explicit detail and also more understanding of what that mom was trying to do and accomplish.

Overall it’s a fine read.

Wowsa this book is absolutely fantastic and will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end. It's a second chance romance and enemies to lovers romance. Lexi is back in her hometown after leaving her fiance at the altar, but when she runs into her old high school sweetheart and love of her life can she ever forgive him for destroying their past relationship? Ollie is still in love with lexi, but when his ex best friend shows up will he still believe in his father lies? This book is so compelling and tantalizing and captivating and heartbreaking all in one .I love it and how you could connect with the characters pain and heartbreak it made you feel like your apart of the story.

While I usually love the work of this author, I DNFed this particular book. I had a hard time getting behind the premise. This book brought to mind the old saying "an ex is an ex for a reason." He didn't trust her when they were dating and not much seemed to have changed. He moved on and had a kid with someone else, but doesn't really seem to have actually grown up and made himself a better person for her. By the time I DNFed it I felt like, even if they did end up together, it would be a case of "doing the right thing" and I firmly believe that sometimes parents being together is absolutely not the right thing for the child. With all the MMC's issues, I just couldn't see how it could possibly be the right thing for them to end up together.

Lexie ran from her wedding back to her hometown straight into her ex-boyfriend, Oliver where they fought their charismatic feelings, they had for each other. Lexie's solution to situation was to save enough money to leave town again. She was a strong, independent woman that was excellent at anything she set her mind to. He owned oil rigs among other things. Trust was a major issue between them that started from something someone told Oliver years earlier. Would Lexie leave town? An enjoyable read with a few surprises.

After running away on her wedding day MFC Lexi hops a plane back to her small hometown in Texas where she unexpectedly hooks up again with an ex love, MMC Oliver Stanhope who had left her broken hearted at the time.
Their becoming a couple again takes a rocky path that includes trust issues on his part which had originally torn them apart all those years ago.
Accidental Baby Daddy was a nice read that was written well with likable characters in an entertaining story. There was passion, drama, surprises, humor, family dynamics and a second chance at love that delivered an enjoyable contemporary romance read.

I loved Accidental Baby Daddy: A Single Dad Runaway Bride Romance by Mia Mara. Lexie and Oliver's story has so many twist and turns, lots of drama of course romance. After leaving her fiancée at the alter she goes back to her hometown and one of the first people she sees is Oliver. They have unbelievable chemistry, but there is so much hurt from their past. Can they push forward? Will they have a happily ever after? This is one of those books that pulls you in and then you realize that nothing got done because you spent the day reading a great book.

Oliver and Lexies story is full of conflict and drama. It keeps them apart for years. She becomes a runaway bride from a man she doesn’t love or like because of his controlling ways. It brings her back to her hometown. She and Oliver reconnect but it is not easy because of past hurts but it is their love story full of hope and passion. They get their family and their happily ever after in the end. It is a good heartwarming story. I would give it more than 5 stars if possible.

WHoa. This is a full length story. Lexi is a runner. No matter how much she wants to stay she runs. She does become frustrating when she runs to the point that these realistic situations makes you want to throw the book/table at her. Oliver is the man who is there for her and wants to prevent her from hurting herself and willing to get hurt in the process. Interesting. Very realistic situations of development of characters and how they progress in this intriging read. Liked it very much!.

This romance book was AMAZING to read and Mia NEVER disappoints me with her Romance books. Lexi and Oliver who is a single dad will give you SPICE, and I don't mean Pumpkin Spice either. This couple captured me right from the very start and let me tell you that this is one romance book you can't let slip past you. It has a wonderful ending, but man this entire book is HOT.

What's not to like it's a heartwarming story with a happy ending.

There is a lot of conflict due to past actions/misunderstandings, they meet again after Lexie runs away from her wedding and heads back to her home town. They do eventually reconnect but it doesn't go smoothly.

I read the book in 1 sitting as I was invested in the characters and wanted to know what was going to happen next, definitely recommend it.

Are you ready for Oliver and Lexie's story?
Love accidental daddies?
Love steam?
Love ups-downs-arounds? The path less taken?

Neighbors-with-benefits takes on a whole new meaning for these two mains!
The question is…can they be more?
Can they live at one address as a family?

My fingers and toes were, of course, crossed!

I love a good second chance romance and this one was just lovely!

This book is amazing. Runaway bride ends up with her first love. That should be a

Oliver love for lexi was always there. I was unsure if lexi still loved oliver but once she started to show her love , it was amazing. They both had trust issues but they solved them. Add a pregnancy and a little boy who just want a mommy, you have a winner. And the story didn't feel rushed at all. It was brilliant. Thank you.

I didn’t like it that much. Like it was just the two of them saying how they love each other and but no they can’t be together. Do that every chapter while changing povs and you get this book. Lexie didn’t really bond with Trent (Oliver’s son) so the ending was very iffy for me. Trent was such a plot device I even forgot he existed at some times because he was only mentioned when the plot needed to remind us that Oliver is actually a single dad. Hai
