The Dark Creations Series Boxed Set combines the first three books in the six-book Dark Creations series.
When Gabriel James mysteriously appears in seventeen-year-old Melissa Martin’s English class, she is not prepared for what she experiences, how she feels the first time they speak. With otherworldly attractiveness, gallantry, charm and intelligence, he is everything boys her age are not. But Gabriel has a secret, a dark secret. His secret threatens to rip them apart and unleash an evil on the world so horrific, humanity will be forever changed. In this deeply romantic and captivating young adult paranormal romance novel, Gabriel and Melissa will risk everything – their very lives – to guard their love. Together, they will be forced to confront mankind’s darkest creation.
Jennifer and Christopher Martucci hoped that their life plan had changed radically in early 2010. To date, the jury is still out. But late one night, in January of 2010, the stay at home mom of three girls (all under the age of six) had just picked up the last doll from the playroom floor and placed it in a bin when her husband startled her by declaring, “We should write a book, together!” Wearied from a day of shuttling the children to and from school, preschool and Daisy Scouts, laundry, cooking and cleaning, Jennifer simply stared blankly at her husband of fifteen years. After all, the idea of writing a book had been an individual dream each of them possessed for much of their young adult lives. Both had written separately in their teens and early twenties, but without much success. They would write a dozen chapters here and there only to find that either the plot would fall apart, or characters would lose their zest, or the story would just fall flat. Christopher had always preferred penning science fiction stories filled with monsters and diabolical villains, while Jennifer had favored venting personal experiences or writing about romance, as romance was far easier to invent fictitiously than it was to attain in real life. Inevitably though, frustration and day to day life had placed writing on the back burner and for several years, each had pursued alternate (paying) careers. But the dream never died. And Christopher suggested that their dream ought to be removed from the back burner for further examination. When he proposed that he and his wife author a book together on that cold January night, Jennifer was hesitant to reject the idea outright. His proposal sparked a discussion, and the discussion lasted deep into the night. By morning, the idea for the Dark Creations series was born.
The Dark Creations series was written while Jennifer and Christopher continued with their day to day activities and raised their young children. They changed diapers, potty trained and went to story time at the local library between chapter outlines and served as room parents while fleshing out individal sections of the book. Life simply continued. And in some ways, their everyday lives were reflected in the characters of the series. In fact, the main female characters are named after three very important people in their lives: their three daughters. Their likenesses end there, however.
As the story line continues to evolve, so too does the Martucci collaboration. Lunches are still packed, noses are still wiped and time remains a rare and precious commodity in their household in upstate New York, but it is the sound of happy chaos that is the true background music of their writing. They hope that their work, though penned for a young adult audience, will be appreciated by the young of every age, and that all enjoy reading it as much as they enjoyed writing it.
It took a bit to get into, but after the characters and storylines were developed, it became interesting. The series flowed throughout without disruption between books. I would recommend them for young readers and anyone who enjoys series that have a satisfactory closure.
Wow this is an action Packed book. Good story plot, bizarre scary creatures, well made characters and action. 2nd books series I have read from Jennier Martucci and again another great read. I recommend this series.
The author has a lot of imagination. A few grammatical errors but nothing that made it difficult to read. I would read more books written by this author.
The Dark Creations Box Set comprises of the first three books in this series - Gabriel Rising Part One, Gabriel Rising Part Two, and Resurrection.
Melissa is part of a trio of best friends, all different, but perfectly matched. However, Melissa constantly puts herself down. She gets into a bad situation with one of the popular school jocks and is worried about becoming the school joke. However, she also finds herself being attracted to a new boy in school, Gabriel. Gabriel is at school to learn how to interact with other students. Due to his unique abilities, this is the first time he has mixed socially with people his own age. There is good in this box set, there is evil - a mad scientist, an experiment gone wrong, an experiment gone right that has now developed feelings and insubordination, high school, friends, and enemies.
Although this is, at heart, a young adult paranormal/science fiction romance, there is plenty of action and suspense to keep most people happy. In fact, there are even some parts that are quite gruesome to read and leave a lasting impression. Well written, although with repetition in places, and with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is a young adult book to get lost in, whilst you think about what might happen to Dr Frankenstein's teenager in love.

So boring and repetitive. Really how hard is it to say something ONCE and have faith in the intelligence of your reader's ability to grasp the concept. Oh and saying he "traversed" over and over and over is like Chinese water torture. This was awful and it just got worse. Then at the end they want you to buy HOW MANY MORE BOOKS????? Just to get the ending! NO THANK YOU!
Entertaining, however, book 3 seemed a bit slow in development. The addition of the new eastern character and his crush, Alexandra draws me toward book 4 expecting more good humor.
A great read! Gabriel shouldn't have feelings, he was made not to have feelings...that is until he meets Melissa. Their story will keep you on your toes. This is one of those books you'll have a hard time putting down.
Wow, this book set was not what I was expecting. The story was awesome. Books 1 & 2 really sailed along while book 3 took its time to tidy up lose ends but also send to be left open for another book.
Fast paced original creepy love story. Violent and twisting. Good build up had my heart racing. When monsters come to town do you love them or do the murder you?
They did it again! I don't know how they come up with these different series yet they are all unique and all page turners! True talent! You must read!!!
I love science fiction and this set was fantastic! I could not stop reading until I read all of them. I would love to read more books from this author.
