Happy Endings

Rate this book
Happy Endings is the fifth and final book in the Kate McCall series.

Now that the long, multi-state road trip is at an end, novice private investigator Kate McCall is thrilled to be back home in Seattle where she can resume her business and reunite with her beloved dog, Pickles. But when her con man cousin Nick suddenly disappears, Kate’s own plans are put on hold as she is forced to deal with bounty hunters, criminals, and a relentless private detective, all looking for Nick - and looking to Kate for answers. Spurred on by family loyalty and her reluctant curiosity, Kate wades into the murky waters of Nick’s illegal activities and finds herself facing her greatest challenge office work.

Fresh and very funny, Happy Endings wraps up the Kate McCall series, which features a fearless and impulsive young woman absolutely determined to make a success of her business on her own terms and in her own way. Written for fans of humorous fiction as well as those who like imperfect female PIs and quirky cases, this lighthearted series will also appeal to anyone who enjoys a great read, memorable characters and a happy ending.

Happy Endings (Kate McCall Book Five)

Wow! Like a sumptuous holiday meal. Just when you think it can't get any better, someone brings out the dessert tray! Still the hilariously funny style and fast paced dialogue the Kate McCall fan has come to know and expect from Me. Lencioni, this latest volume certainly does not disappoint!! From a purely selfish personal perspective I hope Ms. McCall continues her unconventional investigatory practices. It's unlikely, however, that her no-one cousin Nick will figure predominantly in them. But the door has definitely been held open quite nicely for the irascible Harry to move in and take over. Assuredly, the marvelous storytelling talents, undeniable ease with which the reader is immediately involved with the characters, and the hilariously believable verbal exchanges which have so spectacularly defined Miss McCall's adventures cannot have been fully spent in five episodes. I'm all for the next series of five or six tales to be unfolded! This is a most definite enjoyable excursion intro the not so altogether unbelievable world of a most believable character. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kate McCall to everyone looking for a well-written, fictitious story that embodies the
more than the usual "suspense" techniques. Get ALL FIVE BOOKS....But you MUST start at the beginning with Book Number One! Enjoy the explosion of endorphins you'll experience with uncontrollable fits of laughter!

I love this series. I am so glad that Kate finally got her happy ending. She starts out in the first book as a broke young woman with a dog Pickles, a close knit family, a cousin named Nick with a questionable job history. She ends nearly the same, but much much more confident, experienced and she has helped and changed the lives of many people with her private detective work. In this book, she is hired as a "secretary" by PI Harry for whom she has much disdain, but she does the work asked by her as she needs the money. She is trying to protect her cousin Nick from whom she has not heard after he left when they got back from their epic road trip. The adventures and hilarity ensue. She and Norbert realize that their chemistry is worth making a real relationship. At the end, she solves the mystery and, as this is the final book, she summarizes at the end an epilogue. Great series--do not miss any of these books. I hope that there is a new series of books in the works.

One of the most ENJOYABLE, FRESH and INTEREST-CAPTURING novel series I've read in a long time.

OMG! Such entwined plot-threading writing is a truly rare skill & and Tina Lencioni adds that "leave-'em-wanting-more" skill. She managed that in each novel, WITHOUT explicit sex scenes (lovely inferences are so refreshing!), WITHOUT vulgar language (a definite sign of higher-level writing skill!), WITHOUT horrid gore (although you feel the injured party's pain), and WITH a fabulous dose of humor. Egad! I can't wait to read Tina's next novel!

Fun series

I have read all 5 books in this series. I wish there were more. I love the characters. They are such fun! And the plot twists and turns keep me totally involved. The fact that the books don't have graphic sex is a big plus for me. Wonderful escape, happily-ever-after books.
