Standing on the side of the road, the fallen motorcycle bursts into flames. His dark eyes meet mine and he looks like an animal ready to devour me. The worst part? I want him to.
Logan isn't my type. He’s a brazen outlaw, with eyes like midnight and a fighter's hardened body. I can't help but feel uneasy when I'm around him, but with that unease comes a dark throbbing chill up my spine. He's definitely not boring, and maybe that's why I can't stop thinking about him.
Problem is, he's guarded and distant with me. I can't blame him. I did just put the President of his motorcycle club in the hospital…
A man on the edge of the law…
A woman has never challenged my loyalty to my club. Until Cassie. She's a defiant one, with a fierce attitude and a body made for sin. Somehow, whenever I look in her blue eyes, I feel like I'm going to drown.
This mess couldn't have happened at a better time. My motorcycle club needs me. With my long time friend in the hospital I need my wits about me. But how can I whip these rookies into shape with Cassie constantly on my mind? Can't I just forget about her? God knows I've done it before with weaker women. I can't have a repeat of what happened to my crew in California. Especially if it’s my fault.
From Amy Isan comes Part One of a sizzling serial about an outlaw and the woman who dares to tame him…
I was super stoked about reading Bomb & especially as a BR with my girls from Biker Book Babes!
I was counting down the days & the wait was killing me. Then finally it had arrived!
I happily started reading & waiting for something, shit anything to happened. And you know what happened?! The freaking End! Yup, just in a
blink of an eye, it was over! I had high hopes, but I got nothing! No action, no badass MC drama!
Let's just say it left me a bit disappointed, frustrated & down right pissy.
However, I will cut Bomb some slack. This was just the beginning & the series has potential to be great. So I'm guna give it another chance & I'm hoping & begging that this gets better.
I really expected more from this series,But unfortunately it did not worked out for me.
Cassie , an everyday girl! who struggles with her everyday job , on her way back to home ,, after waiting on miserable traffic..suddenly the fallen motorcycle bursts into flames. A guy that she couldn't resist on meeting those dark eyes that had her pinned by his stare.
Logan A.k.a Bomb , he is the ruin outlaw. a potent personality. who recently moved from Cali , and joined to the new MC. this fragile MC needs his attention more than ever , of course after his long time friend being in hospital. all in Bomb's mind is how to make this MC much better. for their future business's.
the first chapters of the book were good. but as i reached the middle-end i simply couldn't comprehend anything
everything was present, but the story line was a bit weak. it didn't hold any strong meaning to it. well at least for me!
i hope everyone else enjoyed it more than i did. :)
Cassie is just another distracted driver in the middle of a work commute. Logan is the reckless biker that pulls her attention, and distracts her. This moment in time is the catalyst that throws them in each other's path.
The Good: 1. I liked that this was a biker freebie over a hundred pages. 2. The cover caught my eye. 3. An attempt to tell an actual story was made instead of a few sex scenes thrown together. Which is hard to find in the free short biker reads offered lately.
The Bad: 1. Very little detail is given to describe the main characters physical attributes. 2. More time is spent giving back story on the peripheral characters, than the leads. 3. What I did learn, didn't help me connect positively with them. For example, having the heroine show up to work late everyday with an attitude because her boss doesn't like it, makes for an unlikable heroine.
Final Thought This was just okay for a freebie, but with a little tweaking, this has potential to become a better read all around.
As a rule I love MC books so when I noticed this was free and the start of a new series I couldn't wait, since I've been caught out by unexpected cliffhangers in the past I checked the next book 'Spark' and noticed it was about Logan and Cassie so I gathered this book wouldn't have an 'end' as such. It's difficult to describe this book really, it's different to other MC books I've read and I've read a lot. Cassie is an average girl, well woman since she's twenty-six her life and job are mundane while she's stuck in traffic one night a motorcycle drives past and her and the driver, Logan lock eyes and they can't stop thinking about each other. Logan is a new member of the Ruin Outlaws MC and they appear to be little more than a group of squabbling children, I expected and wanted to like this book and I'll admit it was a bit of a shock to discover that it was dull and I was bored, I found myself skimming early on just to get to something that held my attention so I may have missed the descriptions of the two main characters but I just couldn't picture them early on at all and then I gave up trying. I know Logan has closely cropped hair, a strong jaw, a bit of stubble and tattoos and Cassie has blue eyes, that's really all I got which is not enough for me to develop a picture of them.
I read and reviewed this book last night and it's been bugging me exactly what I didn't like about it, apart from the fact that I found it boring and I've decided it just didn't give me any of the things I look for in a MC book. Firstly excitement and a sense of danger, hot tough bikers, a real sense of brotherhood and unity within the MC ( this I appreciate might come as this series develops but it's certainly not there yet) and a hot girl swept up into their world and preferably a strong gritty story. All I got from this was a woman with a boring life who didn't really like anything and a guy who's not happy with his life or anything really and while this may be reality and I know people read for different reasons I like romance and this just didn't work for me, so I'm sorry I didn't like this book more.
Yeah, this book didn't work for me at all. I love MC books. This one was so different from any MC book I've read. Several members in this "club" left other clubs to come to this one. Or there's an accident and they cut off his patches and leave him. The President is in the hospital but the vice-president doesn't step up because it's not his thing. None of this makes sense to me.
The only thing we know about Cassie is she is always late for work. Her roommate took her boyfriend back and Cassie can hear through the walls. We don't know much about Logan either. Well, other than he left an old club in California. Oh and he thinks of Cassie and shows up at her house, they have sex 1 time, he leaves and the book is over. Um.....
This is my problem with "books" that are 63 pages that are not novellas. They aren't really books. They are really long chapters. There just isn't enough time to develop characters. This book was a constant repeat of info and 1 sex scene. The cover makes you think you are getting one thing, but nothing on the inside would make you feel anything like that. This unfortunately is one of those series, that I really don't care to read anymore. This was free, but I'm not paying to read the rest.
When I saw a new biker novella for $0.99 I decided to give it a whirl. As expected it was a very quick read, and the ending is unresolved leaving the door open for more.
I have read quite a few MC stories. In comparison it just felt like this one was trying too hard and went a little over the top trying to convey too much in too few pages. It was like I was being hit over the head with how bored/ disillusioned Cassie was with her life, what a tool her boss is, etc. These are my gut impressions as I just finished reading it- I may or may not pick up the next book, I will have to see what I feel after it has sunk in for a day or two.
I had higher hopes for this book. I realize it's about a hundred pages but it could have had better character and story development. I also found the reference to old man and kid annoying because the ages are never given to you. They could be 60 and 20 but who knows!?!
When an unpredictable accident brings Logan “Bomb” together with Cassie, it’s just the boost she needs in her life. At twenty-six, the dog groomer is bored, burned out, and bitter about the way her life has been going. She’s ready for something new, and exciting. Logan delivers that in spades Logan is a man looking for a new place to belong. Old, and wizened, he left his last club, when it collapses into itself after too many members received jail time. In with a new club full of green members, he has his plate full when a pretty distraction falls right into his lap.
This story seemed to drag for me. Ms. Isan had some unique characters with potential, but they were bogged down by the unnecessary information we received in every chapter. Their awkward first meeting, combined with the way the story hopped around made the book rough around the edges. I wanted to feel more of a bond with the characters, and believe the connection between them. I believe there were a lot of missed opportunities.
I was a little disappointed with this free intro to the Ruin MC...there was just not enough substance to it and too many similarities to other biker books I have already read. I really wanted to like it more...perhaps if the author had done a bit more research (don't call it a "gang" or have all the "brothers" so dis-jointed...that's not what an MC is about) and developed her characters a bit more, it might have been better. The one night stand insta-sex had no real lead-up and was not sensual but more strange...and I didn't feel the connection between the biker and dog groomer at all. Overall the book felt rushed and needed an edit or two (incorrect spelling and extra words). Had potential but needed more meaty storyline.
I've read a number of MC books, and I just couldn't get into this one. The members of the club fought amongst themselves and acted juvenile and unlike any club I've read about before. Even when their president told them to get along. The story, although short, was hard to follow. There were a number of typos. Cassie and Logan had instant chemistry, but we're not given enough book time to form a bond with their characters and the storyline didn't really interest me. Maybe more will happen in the next book. Although honestly, I don't think I'll find out.
I hate not giving a good review, but for me personally, I didn't care for this book.
Hard to say...it wasn't exactly OoOh I have to read more. But I can easily say the idea of Logan was nice. Calling him "Bomb" made me lol at the thought of it, I even wondered what named she called out? But the description of him was appealing. The MC sounds a bit more like a bunch of babies than actual bikers, I don't know if the author meant for that to be that way? But they were all rather annoying. I'm not sure that I'll continue reading this series. I picked this one up for free on amazon...can't see myself actually paying for these, I've heard there are much better MC series out there to try.
This was a DNF for me. The story was so all over the place that it didn't make sense. The dialogue was stilted, awkward and seemed like a caricature of how people speak as opposed to actually people speaking. Most of the story sounds like a laundry list being read of how boring and mundane their days are. More than halfway through and the main characters had one encounter that seemed like middle school kids trying to act like grown ups.
And her continued use of "motorcycle rider" or "motorcyclist" was just awkward.
I understand this was the prequel to the series but wow was it short. Bomb and Cassie were ok for main characters but I really hope we see more personality from both. Their one and only sex scene was severely lacking. The Ruin MC was full of whiny boys that only ate cheeseburgers and fought with each other. I really hope that changes as the series progresses. The worst part of the book was the editing. One word was typed caring instead of scaring. Things like this should've been caught. It was just an ok book.
I never thought I'd complain about too much info in part of a serial, but I definitely feel like this is the case. There are just so many characters introduced in too short a space, that everyone, including the H/h, feels one dimensional. As this is a serial there is potentially room for growth, but my feelings about what I've read are so *meh* that I'm not at all certain I would want to continue on with the story.
DNF.... I have never not finished a book before but this was such an inexperienced written book. It was hard to follow and the characters came across as their age was about 12 or 13. I am sorry I just couldn't finish reading it. I am glad it was free because I would have been really pissed if I would have paid for it.
I got this book free on amazon and even though I usually love anything dealing with an MC, I just didn't get into this one. There were some interesting parts which is why I am rating it at a 2, but overall it was not that good.
I do not recommend ready this book or book 2. While it wasn't horrible, it wasn't worth the time. Very short book. And to finish the story you have to continue with the rest of the series. Could have been a 1 book story.
Not much fuel for my bikermance obsession. Not as engaging as I hoped. There is a normal girl and a biker boy but much MC action to spruce up the short read.
It was ok. Not enough of a story to understand what is going on......a lot about her roommate and on again off again boyfriend....to what end? Don't think I will continue this series. It was free.
